## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Delta Feed

Search Google News in a chosen country and language. The Actor reads Google's public RSS feed, merges the same article found by several searches, filters publisher domains, and returns structured headlines. Enable `onlyNew: true` and repeat a run with the same `monitorId` to receive only article IDs that have not been delivered before. Run it manually, by the Apify API, or on an Apify Schedule.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["\"Stripe\" hiring", "\"Stripe\" expansion"],
  "country": "US",
  "language": "en",
  "hoursBack": 48,
  "onlyNew": true,
  "monitorId": "stripe-signals",
  "maxArticlesPerQuery": 25,
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

Google News search operators such as `site:`, `when:`, quotes and `OR` can be used in each query. Set `includeDomains` or `excludeDomains` to narrow publishers. Each article has its headline, publisher, publication time, Google News link, stable Google News ID and all matching queries. No publisher full text, direct publisher article URL, AI analysis or search ranking is claimed.

The default mode returns current matching articles on every run. With `onlyNew: true`, the first run returns current matches and later runs with the same `monitorId`, country and language skip previously delivered IDs. Use a different monitor ID for independent searches. The state retains the most recent 10,000 IDs. The `RUN_SUMMARY` key-value record contains fetched, failed and delivered counts; an empty dataset on a quiet monitoring run is normal. Avoid overlapping runs with the same monitor ID.

### Pricing

The Store pricing panel is authoritative. Intended pay-per-event prices are **$0.001 per successfully fetched query** and **$0.0004 per article delivered**. One query returning 20 new articles costs about $0.009, before Apify's tiny automatic start fee. Previously delivered articles are not charged again in `onlyNew` mode. An empty but successful query still incurs its query charge. Set a maximum charge per run in Apify; it must cover query scans plus at least one article to receive a result.

### Source and limits

This Actor calls `news.google.com/rss/search` by HTTPS. It uses no browser, proxy or third-party AI API. Results are what Google News includes in its public RSS window at the time of the request, often at most about 100 per search. Google may change ranking, coverage, feed format or access; this is not a complete news archive. A Google News search may include loosely related articles; inspect the headline and publisher before using it as a business signal. Failed queries are logged and not charged. The Actor does not fetch or republish full publisher articles.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

One to 20 Google News searches. Operators such as quotes, OR, site:, and when: are accepted by Google News.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter Google News edition, for example US, GB or FR.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code, for example en or fr.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Enable for a scheduled monitor: first run emits current headlines, later runs with the same monitor ID emit only unseen article IDs.

## `monitorId` (type: `string`):

Use a distinct ID for independent scheduled searches in the same account.

## `hoursBack` (type: `integer`):

Ignore older results; Google News may return less than requested.

## `maxArticlesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Maximum articles read from each Google News RSS search.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Global output limit; the rest can appear on later runs while still in Google's RSS window.

## `includeDomains` (type: `array`):

Optional publisher domain filter, e.g. reuters.com.

## `excludeDomains` (type: `array`):

Optional publisher domains to suppress.

  "maxArticlesPerQuery": 25,
  "maxItems": 100
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `articles` (type: `string`):
Deduplicated news article metadata from the default dataset.
# API
You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.
## JavaScript example
```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "queries": [
        "OpenAI"
    ]
};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("nora_natio/google-news-delta-feed").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
