## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby & SmartRecruiters Jobs API

Get **every open job** from company job boards on **Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, Teamtailor, Recruitee and Personio** in one normalized format. The Actor reads each ATS's **official public job-board API** (the same feeds companies use to show jobs on their own career pages): no login, no proxies, no browser, so runs are fast, cheap and reliable.

### What you get per job

Title, company, department/team, locations (city, region, country + ISO country code), workplace type (remote / hybrid / onsite), employment type, seniority, published and updated dates, job URL, apply URL, **salary range** (when the employer publishes it, e.g. Ashby and Lever), full description (plain text and/or HTML), and the source ATS.

### Input

- **Companies:** job-board URLs (`https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe`, `https://jobs.lever.co/spotify`, `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai`, `https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup`), prefixed slugs (`greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:spotify`, `ashby:openai`, `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup`) or plain slugs (`figma`). The ATS is auto-detected.
- **Filters:** keywords (title/department, optionally description), exclude keywords, locations (`US`, `GB`, `London`, `California`, `remote`), remote/hybrid only, posted within N days.
- **Only new (monitor mode):** schedule the task daily and get (and pay for) only jobs you haven't received before.
- **Limits:** max jobs per company, max jobs in total.

Example: US engineering jobs at five tech companies

```json
{"companies": ["greenhouse:stripe", "greenhouse:figma", "greenhouse:anthropic", "lever:spotify", "ashby:openai"],
 "keywords": ["engineer"], "excludeKeywords": ["intern"], "locations": ["US"],
```

Companies that can't be found appear as free error items. Run statistics (jobs per company, filtered, already seen) are saved to `RUN_STATS`.

### Use cases

- Job aggregators and niche job boards
- Recruiting and sales intelligence (hiring signals: who is hiring for what, where)
- Labour-market and salary research
- Daily alerts for new roles at target companies

### Pricing

**$0.0014 per job delivered.** No start fee. Filtered-out jobs, already-seen jobs (monitor mode) and errors are free. 1,000 jobs = $1.40. Set *Max charge per run* to cap spending.

### Notes

- Only public job postings published by employers are returned.
- SmartRecruiters company identifiers are case-sensitive (e.g. `BoschGroup`).
- Not affiliated with Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters or the other ATS vendors.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One entry per company. Accepts job-board URLs (https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe, https://jobs.lever.co/spotify, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai, https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup, https://tibber.teamtailor.com, https://apply.workable.com/kahoot), prefixed slugs (greenhouse:stripe, lever:spotify, ashby:openai, smartrecruiters:BoschGroup, teamtailor:, recruitee:, personio:, workable:) or plain slugs (the ATS is auto-detected). SmartRecruiters identifiers are case-sensitive.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title, department or tags contain ANY of these (case-insensitive substring). Empty = all jobs.

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Match keywords against the full description too (broader results).

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these, e.g. intern, werkstudent.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs in ANY of these locations: 2-letter country codes (US, GB, DE, SE), city, state or country names (New York, California, Germany), or 'remote'. Empty = all locations.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs marked remote or hybrid by the ATS.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs published in the last N days. 0 = any date.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: returns (and charges) only jobs not delivered in earlier runs. State is kept in the named key-value store 'ats-jobs-api-state' on your account.

## `monitorId` (type: `string`):

Optional name of the only-new state, e.g. 'us-engineering'. If empty, it is derived from companies + filters.

## `descriptionFormat` (type: `string`):

text = plain text, html = original HTML, both, or none (smallest output).

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit. Newest jobs first.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many career sites to read in parallel (each host is still rate-limited to ~1 request/second).

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Retries on network errors, HTTP 429 and 5xx (exponential backoff, honours Retry-After).
