## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Scraper – Posts, Profiles, Followers & Monitor

Get Bluesky data as clean JSON, CSV or Excel **without a login, cookies or proxies**. The Actor uses Bluesky's own **official public API** (the AppView XRPC endpoints that power bsky.app), so runs are fast and reliable.

**What you can get**

| Input | Output |
|---|---|
| 🔎 **Search posts** by keyword, phrase or #hashtag, with Bluesky search operators (`from:`, `mentions:`, `domain:`), language and date range | Posts |
| 👤 **User feeds**: latest posts of any account (with or without replies, media only, reposts optional) | Posts |
| 🧵 **Threads**: a post plus its replies, most-liked first | Posts |
| 🪪 **Profiles** by handle or URL | Profiles |
| 🔍 **Search profiles** by name or bio keywords, e.g. "journalist", "founder stockholm" | Profiles |
| 👥 **Followers / following** of any account | Profiles |

Every **post** includes: URL, text, created time, language, author (handle, name, avatar), likes, reposts, replies, quotes, hashtags, mentioned accounts, links, images with alt text, video, link card, quoted post, reply parent and thread root.

Every **profile** includes: handle, DID, display name, bio, **e-mails and links found in the bio**, followers, following, posts count, join date, avatar, banner, verification and labels.

### Why this Actor

- **Cheap and fair:** $0.0009 per post, $0.0014 per profile. **No start fee**, and you never pay for duplicates, errors or already-seen items.
- **Monitor mode:** turn on *Only new*, schedule the task (e.g. hourly), and each run returns only posts or followers you haven't received before. Great for brand monitoring, keyword alerts and follower tracking.
- **Mix everything in one run:** searches, feeds, threads and profile lists together.
- **Official API:** no browser, no blocking, low memory (256 MB).

### Use cases

- Brand and competitor monitoring, social listening, sentiment analysis
- Lead generation: find journalists, founders, creators or agencies and their contact links
- Research datasets of public posts on a topic or hashtag
- Track new followers of your or a competitor's account

### Input examples

Latest English posts about AI:

```json
{"searchQueries": ["artificial intelligence", "#AI"], "searchSort": "latest", "language": "en", "maxItemsPerSource": 50, "includeReposts": false, "hydrateProfiles": true, "onlyNew": false}
```

Find marketing agencies and podcast hosts with their bio e-mails:

```json
{"profileSearchQueries": ["marketing agency", "podcast host"], "maxItemsPerSource": 25, "includeReposts": false, "hydrateProfiles": true, "onlyNew": false}
```

Hourly monitor of new mentions of your brand:

```json
{"searchQueries": ["\"my brand\"", "mybrand.com"], "searchSort": "latest", "onlyNew": true, "monitorId": "my-brand", "maxItemsPerSource": 500, "includeReposts": false, "hydrateProfiles": true}
```

### Output sample (post)

```json
{
  "recordType": "post",
  "url": "https://bsky.app/profile/example.bsky.social/post/3myz4jvjsnc22",
  "text": "An n8n template with one Apify node and one LLM node...",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-29T10:13:30.043Z",
  "langs": ["en"],
  "author": {"handle": "example.bsky.social", "displayName": "Example", "profileUrl": "https://bsky.app/profile/example.bsky.social"},
  "likeCount": 12, "repostCount": 3, "replyCount": 1, "quoteCount": 0,
  "hashtags": ["automation"], "links": ["https://apify.com"],
  "source": {"type": "search", "value": "apify"}
}
```

Errors (unknown handle, invalid URL) appear as free items with `recordType: "error"`. Run statistics are saved to the `RUN_STATS` key.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Post | $0.0009 |
| Profile | $0.0014 |

1,000 posts cost $0.90. Set *Max charge per run* in run options to cap spending; the Actor stops cleanly at your limit.

### Limits and notes

- Bluesky's public search returns at most a few thousand results per query; split big topics into several queries or date ranges.
- Some hashtag searches don't support server-side date filters; the Actor then filters dates itself.
- Only public data is returned. Respect Bluesky's terms and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR) when you process personal data.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by Bluesky Social PBC.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Bluesky account or app password?** No.

**Can I use it from Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent?** Yes, via the Apify API, integrations or the Apify MCP server.
