## Pricing

from $12.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## 🤝 Meetup Scraper

Extract events and groups from **Meetup.com** in any city, state, country or the whole world, or from any group. Each event comes with date and local time, venue, address, GPS and Google Maps link, fee, people going, capacity and spots left, topics and hosts, plus the **group behind it: members, rating, founding date, organizer, and its website, Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok**. Filter by category, keyword, date, in person or online, price, people going, group size, and open RSVP. Turn on the **attendee list** for each event's public RSVPs, or switch the output to **groups** for one row per group.

### 🎯 Who uses it?

#### 🤝 Sales and partnerships teams

Find the organizers running tech, startup, career or wellness communities in your market, with their group's website and socials, and reach them first.

#### 📣 Event marketers and community managers

Map every competing event in your city and dates, see which ones fill up, and spot large, well-rated groups worth partnering with.

#### 🗓️ Event listing sites, newsletters and apps

Fill "what's on this week" pages, city guides and alerts with fresh events, cover images, GPS and RSVP links.

#### 📊 Analysts and researchers

Track which topics, cities and communities are growing: events per week, attendance, paid vs free, group sizes and ratings, a group's whole event history.

### ✨ What it does

- **Any place.** A city ("Berlin"), "City, Country", a state ("Texas"), a country ("Germany"), **Worldwide**, or "latitude, longitude". Several in one run.
- **Your radius.** Search 5 km or 500 km around a city instead of the default 40 km.
- **Any group or event link.** A group link gives all its upcoming events; turn on **Past events of groups** for its history too, newest first.
- **Filters:** all 20 Meetup categories (Technology, Career & Business, Social Activities, Health & Wellbeing...), keywords, date range (exact or "+7 days"), in person, online or hybrid, free or paid, min and max price, min people going, min group members, open for RSVP only.
- **Groups, not just events.** Every row carries the group's members, rating, founding date, category, organizer and social links. Or pick **Groups** output for one row per group with its next event.
- **Optional attendee list** in the same row: name, profile link, city, bio, host or not, and guests for each RSVP.

### 🏆 Why this scraper

- **Fast.** 1,000 events in about 25 seconds, 500 with attendee lists in under a minute.
- **Complete.** Meetup's search quietly drops events on long result pages; this Actor reads busy places in small time slices, so a city gives you every event, not just the first few hundred.
- **Countries and the world.** Searches whole countries, states and continents, and keeps only events inside the country you asked for.
- **Lead-ready.** Group socials as clean, clickable links (Meetup's placeholders and broken links are cleaned up), organizer profile and bio.
- **No proxy needed.** Nothing extra to set up or pay for.

### ⚙️ How the input is organised

| Section | What it's for |
| --- | --- |
| **Maximum results** and **Output** | Always first: caps the whole run, and picks events or groups. Empty maximum means no limit. |
| **Where** | Places, radius, Meetup links, and past events of groups. |
| **Filters** | Categories, keywords, dates, in person or online, price, people going, group size, open RSVP. |
| **What to include** | Attendee list (optional) and how many people per event. |

Category values: `art-culture`, `career-business`, `community-environment`, `dancing`, `games`, `health-wellbeing`, `hobbies-passions`, `identity-language`, `movements-politics`, `music`, `parents-family`, `pets-animals`, `religion-spirituality`, `science-education`, `social-activities`, `sports-fitness`, `support-coaching`, `technology`, `travel-outdoor`, `writing`.

### 💰 Pricing

Pay-per-event: a one-time **$0.003** when the run starts, plus a price per result (event or group) saved to your dataset. The price depends on your Apify plan tier:

| Your Apify plan | Price per result |
| --- | --- |
| Free | $0.017 |
| Bronze | $0.015 |
| Silver | $0.014 |
| Gold / Platinum / Diamond | $0.012 |

Approximate total cost:

| Results collected | Free | Bronze | Silver | Gold+ |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 100 | $1.70 | $1.50 | $1.40 | $1.20 |
| 1,000 | $17.00 | $15.00 | $14.00 | $12.00 |
| 10,000 | $170.00 | $150.00 | $140.00 | $120.00 |

**Attendee list add-on.** Only when **Attendee list** is on, each event saved with at least one attendee costs a little extra:

| Your Apify plan | Add-on per event |
| --- | --- |
| Free | $0.008 |
| Bronze | $0.007 |
| Silver | $0.0065 |
| Gold / Platinum / Diamond | $0.006 |

Leave it off and you pay only the base price. No proxy costs. New Apify accounts start with $5 in free credit. On the Free plan a run saves up to 10 results.

**Speed:** 1,000 events in about 25 seconds; with attendee lists, about 10 events per second. Worldwide and country searches cover more ground, so the first results take a little longer to appear.

### 🚀 Run it

1. Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit.
2. Open the Meetup Scraper.
3. Type a place (or keep the prefilled one), or paste Meetup links, add filters, then click **Start**.
4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the Dataset tab.

Run it programmatically through the Apify API (`run-sync-get-dataset-items`) or the ApifyClient for JavaScript and Python, and schedule it with Apify's built-in Scheduler to catch new events every day.

### 🤖 Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Meetup events through the Model Context Protocol:

```
claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=normdata/meetup-scraper"
```

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

### 🔧 Troubleshooting

**A place was skipped.**
Add the country ("Valencia, Spain"), or type "latitude, longitude".

**Online events show up in a city search.**
Meetup lists online events run by local groups. Set **In person or online** to "In person only" to skip them.

**Some events have no address.**
The venue is still to be announced, or the event is online. The group's city and country are always there.

**A group link was skipped.**
Check the spelling of the link: the group may have been renamed or closed.

**Some rows have an `error`.**
That event's attendee list didn't load. The rest of the row is complete.

### ❓ FAQ

| Question | Answer |
| --- | --- |
| Do I need a Meetup account? | No. Only public data is read. |
| Does it need a proxy? | No. |
| Can I get attendee lists? | Yes. Turn on **Attendee list**: you get each public RSVP with name, profile, city and bio. |
| Can I get past events? | Yes, for groups: paste the group link and turn on **Past events of groups**. |
| Can I get group emails or phone numbers? | No. Meetup doesn't show them; you get the group's website and social links instead. |
| Can I scrape a whole country? | Yes. Type the country name, and leave the maximum empty for every event. |
| Can I track new events? | Yes. Schedule the same input daily with Apify's Scheduler and compare runs. |

### 🛡️ Limits & responsible use

This Actor reads only public data from Meetup. It never signs in and never RSVPs. Host, organizer and attendee profiles are personal data: handle them in line with privacy law in your country (GDPR, CAN-SPAM...), and use the data in line with Meetup's terms.

## `includePast` (type: `boolean`):

For group links, also collect their past events (with attendance), newest first.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Keep events of groups in any of these Meetup categories. Leave empty for all.
