## Pricing

from $16.00 / 1,000 lots

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## 🔨 Phillips Auction Scraper

Extract lots from **Phillips**, the auction house for 20th century and contemporary art, design, watches, jewels, editions and photographs. Get **auction results** (every Phillips sale since 2013: about 850 sales and 100,000 lots, with the price realized) or **live and upcoming lots** with estimates, starting bids and current online bids, in one clean table.

Each lot comes with:

- **Price realized** (with buyer's premium) and the **hammer price** where Phillips publishes it, in the sale currency **and in USD**.
- **Low and high estimate**, in the sale currency and in USD.
- **Artist or maker**, title, the provenance line ("PROPERTY OF A ..."), and the **model and reference number** for watches.
- Status: sold, bought in, returned to owner, open for bidding or upcoming.
- Starting bid, **online bids** and the top online bid, no reserve flag and catalogue symbols.
- The sale: code, title, live or online, city, departments, start and end, and the live session or online closing time.
- Photo, lot link, sale link and video.
- Add-on: the full lot page, with **medium, dimensions, date, signature and inscriptions, provenance, exhibition history, literature, the catalogue essay, the condition report**, artist nationality and life dates, a watch's **case and movement numbers, material, calibre, bracelet, clasp and accessories**, and every photo.

### 🎯 Who uses it?

#### 🖼️ Art advisors, dealers and galleries

Pull every Phillips result for an artist, with estimate against price realized, to price a work or back a consignment pitch.

#### ⌚ Watch dealers and collectors

Track what each Rolex, Patek Philippe or F.P. Journe reference sold for at Phillips Geneva, New York and Hong Kong, with the case and movement numbers.

#### 📊 Market analysts, funds and price databases

Feed an art or watch price index with clean numbers in USD: estimates, prices, sell-through and dates for 100,000 lots.

#### 🧾 Appraisers and insurers

Back a valuation with comparable Phillips sales, each with its lot link, provenance and condition report.

### ✨ What it does

- **Past results or live and upcoming lots.** Past sales give the price realized; upcoming sales give estimates, starting bids and current online bids.
- **Search the way you think:**
  - Search terms ("warhol", "patek philippe 5711", "jean prouve"), several per run. Every word must be in the maker, title or model; accents and case don't matter.
  - Artist / maker names.
  - **6 departments** (Modern & Contemporary Art, Design, Editions, Watches, Jewels, Photographs) and **6 cities** (New York, London, Hong Kong, Geneva, Paris, Singapore).
  - Live or online sales.
- **Or paste phillips.com links:** a lot page, or a whole sale (every lot in it). The filters are ignored with links.
- **Every useful filter:**
  - Sold, unsold (bought in or returned to owner) or all lots.
  - **Sale date range**: exact dates, or periods like "6 months" or "2 years".
  - **Price and estimate ranges in USD**, whatever the sale currency.
  - Minimum online bids, no reserve only, words to exclude.
  - 6 sort orders: most recent or oldest sale, highest or lowest price, highest estimate, most online bids.
- **New lots only.** For scheduled runs: saves only lots the same search has not saved before.

### 🏆 Why this scraper

- **The only Phillips scraper on Apify.**
- **Every sale since 2013.** The whole Phillips results archive, not just the current catalogues.
- **USD on every row.** Phillips sells in USD, GBP, HKD, EUR and CHF. Each row also has the price and estimates in USD, at the rate Phillips itself shows next to the estimate, so results from different cities compare directly.
- **Sorts across the whole archive.** "Highest price" really reads every matching sale first, then saves the top lots.
- **Fast.** About 1,000 lots in under 10 seconds (1,000 with full details in under a minute).
- **No proxy needed.** Nothing extra to set up or pay for.

### ⚖️ How it compares

No other Actor scrapes Phillips. These are the closest ones, for the other major auction houses. Based on each Actor's public input options (October 2026).

### ⚙️ How the input is organised

| Section | What it's for |
| --- | --- |
| **Maximum lots**, **What to scrape**, **Results** | Always first: caps the whole run (empty means no limit), past or upcoming auctions, and sold, unsold or all lots. |
| **What** | Search terms, artist / maker, or links. |
| **Sale filters** | Department, city, live or online, sale date range. |
| **Lot filters** | Price and estimate ranges in USD, minimum online bids, no reserve only, words to exclude, sort order. |
| **Add-ons** | Full lot details. |
| **Monitoring** | New lots only, with an optional monitor name. |

A lot matching ANY of your search terms is kept; every filter narrows them all. With links, the search terms and filters are ignored.

### 💰 Pricing

Pay-per-event: a one-time **$0.003** when the run starts, plus a price per lot saved to your dataset that drops with your Apify plan. Full lot details are an optional add-on per lot.

| Your Apify plan | Per lot | With full details | 1,000 lots | 1,000 lots with details |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0.022 | +$0.008 | $22.00 | $30.00 |
| Bronze | $0.020 | +$0.007 | $20.00 | $27.00 |
| Silver | $0.018 | +$0.006 | $18.00 | $24.00 |
| Gold / Platinum / Diamond | $0.016 | +$0.005 | $16.00 | $21.00 |

Lots dropped by your filters are not charged. There are no proxy costs. New Apify accounts start with $5 in free credit. On the Free plan a run saves up to 10 lots.

**Speed:** about 1,000 lots in under 10 seconds; 1,000 with full details in under a minute. Price, estimate and bid sorts read the whole archive first (about a minute).

### 🚀 Run it

1. Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit.
2. Open the Phillips Auction Scraper.
3. Type an artist or search term (or keep the prefilled one), pick past or upcoming auctions and your filters, then click **Start**.
4. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the Dataset tab.

You can also:

- Run it programmatically through the Apify API (`run-sync-get-dataset-items`) or the ApifyClient for JavaScript and Python.
- Schedule it with Apify's built-in Scheduler, with **New lots only** on, to catch new lots as Phillips publishes them.

### 🤖 Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Phillips results through the Model Context Protocol:

```
claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=normdata/phillips-scraper"
```

Then prompt it in plain language, for example "what did Phillips sell Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 for in 2025, in USD?".

### 🔧 Troubleshooting

**`priceUsd` or the USD estimates are empty.**
Phillips shows no USD estimate for some older sales outside the US, so there is no rate to convert with. The sale currency fields are still filled. USD price and estimate filters skip those lots.

**A sold lot has no `price`.**
Phillips hides the price of a few sold lots (sold privately or on request). They are kept as sold, with an empty price.

**`bids` is 0 on a lot that sold.**
Phillips counts only bids placed online at phillips.com. Room, phone and absentee bids are not in its data.

**An upcoming sale has no lots.**
Phillips lists the sale on its calendar before the catalogue is online. Its lots appear in later runs; the log says how many sales are waiting.

**A row has an `error` field.**
Only with the add-on, and only when that lot's page could not be loaded: the base fields are filled, the add-on fields are empty and `error` says why. Rows that worked have no `error`. With the add-on off, its fields are left out of the rows.

**A scheduled "New lots only" run saved nothing.**
Nothing new matched since the last run. Changing terms, links or filters starts a fresh memory; set a **Monitor name** to keep it.

### ❓ FAQ

| Question | Answer |
| --- | --- |
| Do I need a Phillips account? | No. Only public lot data is read. |
| Does the price include the buyer's premium? | `price` and `priceUsd` do (the price realized Phillips publishes). `hammerPrice` doesn't. |
| How far back do results go? | To 2013, every sale on the Phillips past auctions page. |
| Are selling exhibitions included? | Not in searches (they have no auction results). Paste an exhibition link to get its works, without prices. |
| Is there a result limit? | No. Leave the maximum empty to get everything that matches. |
| Does it need a proxy? | No. |
| Can I track new lots? | Yes. Turn on **New lots only** and schedule the run. |

### 🛡️ Limits & responsible use

# Actor input Schema

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many lots in total. Leave empty for no limit (every matching lot). The Apify Free plan is always capped at 10.

## `status` (type: `string`):

Past auctions are every Phillips sale since 2013 (906 sales, over 100,000 lots) with prices realized. Live and upcoming are the sales open for bidding now or published for the coming weeks, with estimates, starting bids and current bids.

## `results` (type: `string`):

Sold lots only, unsold lots only (bought in or returned to owner), or every lot of the sale.

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Artist, maker, brand, model or title words, e.g. "warhol", "patek philippe 5711", "rolex daytona", "basquiat untitled". A lot must contain every word of a term (accents and case don't matter). Several terms: a lot matching ANY of them is kept.

## `makers` (type: `array`):

Keep only lots by ANY of these artists, designers or brands (part of the name is enough), e.g. "Picasso", "Jean Prouvé", "Rolex".

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Sale pages (phillips.com/auction/NY010125: every lot of the sale) or lot pages (phillips.com/detail/...). The filters are ignored with links.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Keep only sales of ANY of these Phillips departments.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep only sales held in ANY of these cities.

## `saleType` (type: `string`):

Live (saleroom) auctions or online-only auctions.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Keep sales starting on or after this date. A date like "2024-01-01", or a period like "6 months" or "2 years".

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Same format as "Sale date from", e.g. "2024-12-31".

## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):

Past auctions: price realized with buyer's premium, in USD.

## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):

Same price as "Min price".

## `minEstimate` (type: `integer`):

Low estimate in USD at least this.

## `maxEstimate` (type: `integer`):

Low estimate in USD at most this.

## `minBids` (type: `integer`):

Keep only lots with at least this many bids placed online at phillips.com (room and phone bids are not counted by Phillips).

## `noReserveOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Upcoming lots: keep only lots offered without reserve.

## `titleExcludes` (type: `array`):

Drop lots whose maker, title or model contains any of these words, e.g. "after", "attributed", "print".

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order of the results. Matters most when you set a Maximum. Price, estimate and bid sorts read every matching sale first.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Add the lot page to every lot: medium, dimensions, date (circa), signature and inscriptions, provenance, exhibition history, literature, the catalogue essay, condition report, artist nationality and life dates, watch case and movement numbers, material, calibre, bracelet, clasp and accessories, and every photo. Charged as an add-on per lot.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: save only lots this same search has not saved before. The first run saves everything; later runs save just what is new. Kept per search (terms, links and filters).

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Optional. Give "New lots only" a fixed name to keep its memory even after you change the filters.
