## Pricing

from $0.80 / 1,000 extensions

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Chrome Web Store Scraper — Extensions, Users, Ratings & Permissions

Get **Chrome Web Store** extensions as clean JSON — by store URL or ID, by **search**, or from a **category page**. Every row has the **name, number of users, rating and rating count, category, website, first published date, manifest version and the permissions it asks for**. Open each extension's page to add **version, last update, size, languages, full description and developer**. Schedule a search or category with *Only new extensions* to catch newcomers.

### What you get

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `extensionId`, `name`, `url`, `iconUrl` | the extension |
| `users`, `rating`, `ratingCount` | reach and reputation |
| `category`, `shortDescription`, `website` | what it is and who makes it |
| `firstPublishedAt` | when it first appeared in the store |
| `manifestVersion`, `permissions`, `hostPermissions` | what it can access — useful for security reviews and MV3 checks |
| `version`, `updatedAt`, `size`, `languages`, `description`, `developer` | from the extension's page (always for URLs; for searches with *Open each extension page*) |
| `search` / `categoryPage`, `rank`, `isNewSinceLastRun` | where it was listed, its position, and whether it is new since your last run |

Developer email addresses are **not** collected.

### Use it for

- **Market research** — the top extensions for a keyword with users and ratings, to size a niche before you build
- **Competitor tracking** — version and last-update dates for a list of rivals, every week
- **Security and IT reviews** — the permissions and host access every extension in your company list asks for
- **Lead lists** — extension makers' websites by category

### Input

```json
{ "searches": ["password manager", "screenshot"], "includeDetails": true, "minUsers": 10000 }
```

Measured on October 7, 2026: one extension page, one search and one category page — 41 extensions in 6 seconds; a search with every extension page opened, 10 extensions in 20 seconds. Data comes from the public Chrome Web Store pages — no login. The store shows about 10 extensions per search page.

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1,000 extensions** from searches and categories, **$3.00 per 1,000** with the extension page opened, plus $0.01 per run. Error rows and extensions left out by your filters are free. The $0.01 run-start fee is the one charge every run pays, even one that returns nothing.

### For AI agents

`{"extensions": ["ddkjiahejlhfcafbddmgiahcphecmpfh"]}` returns uBlock Origin Lite with users, rating, version and permissions. Rows have `type`: `extension` or `error`.

# Actor input Schema

## `extensions` (type: `array`):

Store URLs or 32-letter extension IDs. Returns full details.

## `searches` (type: `array`):

What you would type in the store search. The store shows about 10 results per search page.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Category paths or URLs, e.g. "extensions/productivity/tools" or "extensions/make_chrome_yours/privacy".

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds version, last update, size, languages, full description and developer to search and category results (one extra page per extension).

## `minUsers` (type: `integer`):

Skip extensions with fewer users than this. Leave empty to keep every extension.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

For searches and categories: from the second run on, return only extensions that were not on the same page before.
