## Pricing

from $0.80 / 1,000 entities

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## LEI Lookup — GLEIF Company Data, Addresses & Parent Companies

Look up companies in the **Global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) registry** run by GLEIF — by **LEI code** or by **company name** — and get one clean row per legal entity: **legal name and other names, legal and headquarters address, jurisdiction, legal form, local registration number, entity and registration status, next renewal date, BIC and other identifiers**, plus optionally its **direct and ultimate parent company** and **number of subsidiaries**.

### What you get

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `lei`, `legalName`, `otherNames`, `transliteratedNames` | identity |
| `legalAddress`, `headquartersAddress`, `country`, `jurisdiction` | where it is registered and operates |
| `legalFormCode`, `category`, `entityCreatedAt` | legal form (ISO 20275 ELF code) and type |
| `registrationAuthorityId`, `localRegistrationNumber` | the company number in its national register |
| `entityStatus`, `registrationStatus`, `firstRegisteredAt`, `lastUpdatedAt`, `nextRenewalAt`, `corroborationLevel` | is it active, and is its LEI current or lapsed |
| `bic`, `mic`, `ocid`, `spGlobalIds`, `successorLeis` | links to other identifiers |
| `directParent`, `ultimateParent`, `directChildrenCount` | ownership, with *Add parents* / *subsidiaries* |
| `search`, `match` | for name searches: the name you gave and whether it matched the exact legal name or full text |

Sole-proprietor records (where the legal name is a person's name) are **not** returned; their count is in the run's OUTPUT.

### Use it for

- **KYB and onboarding** — verify a counterparty's legal name, address, status and registration number
- **Ownership mapping** — direct and ultimate parents for a list of suppliers or clients
- **Data enrichment** — add LEI, BIC and local company numbers to a company list
- **Compliance checks** — find lapsed LEIs before they block a trade report

### Input

```json
{ "companies": ["Apple Inc.", "Siemens AG", "315700DHB47UOCE2LE29"], "includeParents": true }
```

Measured on October 7, 2026: 4 names and 2 codes with parents and subsidiaries in 37 seconds; 2 names without them in 10 seconds. Data comes from GLEIF's official API (CC0 open data) — no login, no API key. GLEIF allows 60 requests a minute, so large runs are paced.

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1,000 entities**, or **$2.00 per 1,000** with parents or subsidiaries, plus $0.01 per run. Error rows are free. The $0.01 run-start fee is the one charge every run pays, even one that returns nothing.

### For AI agents

`{"companies": ["Siemens AG"], "maxResultsPerName": 1}` returns Siemens' LEI, address and registration number. Rows have `type`: `entity` or `error`.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Company names (exact legal names come first, then full-text matches) or 20-character LEI codes, one per line.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter codes of the legal address, e.g. "US", "DE", "JP". Applies to name searches.

## `activeOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Name searches skip entities GLEIF marks as inactive (merged, dissolved).

## `maxResultsPerName` (type: `integer`):

How many entities to return for each company name you search. Exact legal-name matches come first.

## `includeParents` (type: `boolean`):

Two extra lookups per company.

## `includeChildrenCount` (type: `boolean`):

Add how many direct subsidiaries each entity has reported to GLEIF. Rows with relations are priced as "entity with relations".

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "Apple Inc.",
    "315700DHB47UOCE2LE29"
  ],
  "activeOnly": true,
  "maxResultsPerName": 10,
  "includeParents": false,
  "includeChildrenCount": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `entities` (type: `string`):

Legal entities with addresses, identifiers and status.
