## Pricing

from $1.60 / 1,000 businesses

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New LLC & Business Registrations — Secretary of State Search: Colorado, New York, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas

**Every company registered with the state this week**, straight from the official Secretary of State registries' open data: entity number, name, type, status, registration date, city, ZIP, county (New York) and NAICS industry (Connecticut). Schedule it with **Only new since my last run** and each run returns just the companies registered since the last one. Or switch to **company lookup** and check names or entity numbers across all years, in Texas too. No login, no API key, $2 per 1,000 businesses plus $0.01 a run.

**Try it now. The input is already filled in.** Press **Start**: the 25 newest businesses from each of Colorado, New York, Connecticut and Oregon come back in about 20 seconds, for about $0.21 (measured on 29 Oct 2026).

| `state` | `name` | `entityType` | `formedOn` | `city` | `naicsTitle` |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| CO | Turfara Software LLC | Limited Liability Company | 2026-10-27 | Northglenn | |
| NY | CILANTRA MEXICAN GRILL LLC | Domestic Limited Liability Company | 2026-10-27 | Bronx | |
| CT | Ridgebury Software LLC | LLC | 2026-10-27 | Ridgefield | Custom Computer Programming Services |
| OR | LENGA SYSTEMS LLC | Domestic Limited Liability Company | 2026-10-26 | Salem | |

Set **Output** to **Only businesses new since my last run** and schedule it daily: tomorrow's run returns just the businesses registered since today's.

| state | registry | about how many new a day | updated |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York | Department of State, Division of Corporations (active corporations) | 450 | daily |
| Colorado | Secretary of State business entities | 350 | daily |
| Connecticut | Secretary of the State business registry | 140 | daily |
| Oregon | Secretary of State, Corporation Division (active businesses) | — | most days |
| Texas (**lookup only**) | Comptroller of Public Accounts, active franchise taxpayers: SOS file number, charter date, type, status, NAICS | about 1,800 (listed about three weeks late) | weekly |

**Try it now. The input is already filled in.** Press **Start**: the newest businesses registered in the last 7 days in Colorado, New York, Connecticut and Oregon, 25 per state — **100 businesses in about 20 seconds, for $0.21** (measured on 28 Oct 2026).

What a run with **Name contains** `coffee`, 7 days, active, in-state only returned on 22 Oct 2026:

| state | name | type | registered | city | ZIP | county / NAICS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CO | Live For Coffee LLC | Limited Liability Company | 2026-10-17 | Colorado Springs | 80927 | |

| NY | 94 COFFEE & BEVERAGE CORP. | Domestic Business Corporation | 2026-10-18 | Brooklyn | 11209 | Kings |
| CT | Quindici Coffee Sellers LLC | LLC | 2026-10-21 | Glastonbury | 06033 | 445298 |
| OR | ENUS COFFEE LLC | Domestic Limited Liability Company | 2026-10-16 | Gresham | 97030 | |

### Who uses it

- **Sales and lead lists**: businesses in their first days, when they choose a bank, an accountant, insurance, payroll, a website, a phone line. Filter by name (`dental`, `construction`, `salon`) and by ZIP or county in your spreadsheet.
- **KYB and vendor checks**: does this company exist, is it in good standing, when was it formed, is it a local or an out-of-state company — with the state's entity number and, for Colorado and Oregon, a link to its registry page.
- **Research**: business formation by state, county, ZIP and (Connecticut) NAICS industry, day by day.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **States** | Colorado, New York, Connecticut, Oregon (default for new registrations: all four); Texas for lookups only |
| **Registered within (days)** | 1–365, default 7 |
| **Name contains** | keep only names containing this text |
| **Active only** | good standing (CO) or active (CT); NY and OR publish active businesses only |
| **Include out-of-state companies** | companies formed elsewhere that registered in this state; off = locally formed only |
| **Output** | all businesses in the window, or **only those registered since your last run** with the same settings (a run capped by *Max businesses per state* does not turn the older ones it skipped into "new" next time) |
| **Max businesses per state** | newest first, default 300 |
| **Look up companies instead** | names or entity numbers (Texas: SOS file number or taxpayer number); searches all years in each chosen state |

### What you get

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `state`, `entityId` | the state and its entity number (CO entity ID, NY DOS ID, CT account number, OR registry number, TX SOS file number); `taxpayerNumber` in Texas |
| `name`, `entityType`, `status` | as registered; the type in words (Colorado's codes like `DLLC` stay in `entityTypeCode`). Connecticut also lists filings the state rejected; those never became businesses and are left out |
| `formedOn` | the registration date: formation for a local company, registration in this state for an out-of-state one |
| `foreign`, `jurisdictionOfFormation` | `true` when the company was formed in another state or country, and where |
| `city`, `addressState`, `zip`, `county` | the place of the business (principal office in CO and OR, office/billing address in CT, service-of-process address in NY, taxpayer mailing address in TX); `county` in NY only |
| `naicsCode`, `naicsTitle` | the industry the business gave Connecticut (code and title) or Texas (code) |
| `isNewSinceLastRun` | `true` when your last run with the same settings did not return it and it was registered no more than 7 days before the newest business that run returned (states publish a day's filings in parts: Colorado over two days, Connecticut over several); `null` on the first run |
| `registryUrl` | the registry's own page for the company (Colorado, Oregon) |
| `query`, `matchType` | in a lookup: what you typed, and `id`, `exact`, `prefix` or `contains` |
| `source`, `license`, `retrievedAt` | the dataset the row came from, its licence, and when it was read |

**Not returned, on purpose**: people. No officer, director, organizer or registered-agent names, no street addresses (many new LLCs are registered at someone's home), no e-mail addresses, and none of Connecticut's ownership flags (woman-, minority-, veteran-owned…), which describe the owners. Oregon's assumed business names (trade names of sole traders) and Texas sole owners, sole proprietorships and estates are left out for the same reason.

### Sources and licences

Colorado Information Marketplace (data.colorado.gov, *Business Entities in Colorado*, public domain), New York State Open Data (data.ny.gov, *Active Corporations: Beginning 1800*), Connecticut Open Data (data.ct.gov, *Connecticut Business Registry – Business Master*, public domain), Oregon Open Data (data.oregon.gov, *Active Businesses – ALL*), Texas Open Data Portal (data.texas.gov, *Active Franchise Taxpayers*, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts). The Actor reads each state's official open-data API one request a second, as the portals ask.

**Colorado data disclaimer** (required by data.colorado.gov's terms): "The data made available here has been modified for use from its original source, which is the State of Colorado. THE STATE OF COLORADO MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTY AS TO THE COMPLETENESS, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS, OR CONTENT OF ANY DATA MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THIS SITE. THE STATE OF COLORADO EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The data is subject to change as modifications and updates are complete. It is understood that the information contained in the Web feed is being used at one's own risk."

### Pricing

$0.01 per run plus **$2.00 per 1,000 businesses**. Businesses left out because an earlier run already returned them, and error rows, are not charged.

# Actor input Schema

## `states` (type: `array`):

The state registries to read. Leave empty for all of them. Texas is used only when you look companies up by name or number: its open data lists new companies about three weeks late, so it is left out of the new-registrations list.

## `registeredWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Businesses whose registration (formation or, for out-of-state companies, registration in this state) is at most this many days old. The registries publish each day's filings the next day.

## `nameContains` (type: `string`):

Keep only new businesses whose name contains this text (e.g. `coffee`, `dental`, `construction`). Leave empty for all.

## `activeOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only businesses in good standing (Colorado) or active (Connecticut). New York and Oregon publish active businesses only.

## `includeForeign` (type: `boolean`):

Companies formed in another state that registered to do business in this one ("foreign" entities). Turn off for locally formed businesses only.

## `output` (type: `string`):

With "only new", a scheduled run returns just the businesses registered on a later day than the newest one your last run with the same settings returned (the states publish each day's filings together); the rest are left out and not charged.

## `maxItemsPerState` (type: `integer`):

Newest first. New York registers about 450 businesses a day, Colorado about 350, Connecticut about 140.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

One per line. When filled, the run looks these companies up in every chosen state across all years instead of listing new registrations: an entity number (Colorado entity ID, New York DOS ID, Connecticut account number, Oregon registry number, Texas SOS file number or taxpayer number) or a name. Names return the closest matches first: the same name apart from LLC/Inc./Corp., then names that start with it, then names that contain it.

## `maxMatchesPerName` (type: `integer`):

For company lookups by name.
