## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC EDGAR Financial Statements

Need 5 years of revenue and net income for 30 tickers in a spreadsheet? Give it tickers, get one row per period from 10-K and 10-Q XBRL filings.

Turns the SEC's XBRL `companyfacts` data into tidy rows: one row per company, concept and reporting period, with the filing URL. Restated values are de-duplicated (latest filing wins).

**Pay per result (about $2 per 1,000 rows; Apify free credit covers trials).** No API keys, no logins, no scraping of websites: only the official public API.

### Use cases

- Screening and valuation models: revenue, net income, assets by ticker without parsing XBRL
- Backfilling fundamentals into a spreadsheet or database
- Comparing companies on the same standardized concepts
- Feeding financial facts into research agents and LLM pipelines

### Example input

```json
{"tickers":["AAPL","MSFT"],"concepts":["Revenues","NetIncomeLoss","Assets"],"forms":["10-K"],"annualOnly":true,"sinceYear":2019}
```

### Output fields

ticker, cik, company, concept, label, unit, value, fiscalYear, fiscalPeriod, form, periodStart, periodEnd, filed, accession, filingUrl

### Data source & terms

SEC EDGAR XBRL APIs (data.sec.gov). U.S. government data, free to use; the Actor sends a descriptive User-Agent and stays under the SEC's 10 requests/second limit.

### Notes

Not investment advice. Concept names vary by company (e.g. `Revenues` vs `RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax`); list several concepts if a company returns no rows.

Feedback and feature requests are welcome in the Actor's Issues tab.

### Notes on fields

- `fiscalYear` is the calendar year in which the reported period ends (e.g. a fiscal year ending 2025-06-30 is 2025); `sinceYear` filters on it.
- `annualOnly` keeps only full-year (about 52-week) periods; quarterly and year-to-date figures are excluded.
- The same company given twice (ticker, lowercase ticker, CIK number) is fetched and billed once.
- Each row has a `taxonomy` field (us-gaap, dei, ifrs-full...).

# Actor input Schema

## `tickers` (type: `array`):

Stock tickers (AAPL) or numeric SEC CIK numbers.

## `concepts` (type: `array`):

us-gaap concept names, e.g. Revenues, NetIncomeLoss, Assets, StockholdersEquity, EarningsPerShareBasic. Companies use different revenue concepts (Revenues or RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax). Empty = all concepts (large).

## `forms` (type: `array`):

Only facts reported in these forms, e.g. 10-K, 10-Q, 20-F. Empty = all.

## `annualOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only fiscal-period FY facts.

## `sinceYear` (type: `integer`):

Drop facts older than this fiscal year.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Total row cap across all companies.
