## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

### What does Shein Search do?

**Shein Search** extracts product listings from one [Shein](https://www.shein.com/) search or category URL and saves the results to an Apify dataset. Use it when you want product cards from a listing page, such as search results, category pages, or curated listing pages.

This Actor is focused on discovery data. It returns product IDs, product names, product URLs, images, prices, discount information, SKU/category fields when available, and additional listing-card fields returned by Shein.

### Why use Shein Search?

Shein Search is useful for catalog monitoring, assortment checks, price tracking, category research, marketplace analysis, and building product URL lists for later product-detail scraping.

Need richer product data after collecting listing URLs? Use [Shein Product Detail](https://apify.com/notchgrid/shein-detail-products-scraper) with the product URLs returned by this Actor.

The Actor keeps the workflow simple: one run processes one listing URL. This makes the dataset easy to inspect because all rows belong to the same search or category page. If you need multiple keywords or categories, run the Actor multiple times with different URLs.

### How to use Shein Search

1. Open the Actor input form.
2. Enter one Shein search or category URL in `startUrl`.
3. Set `expectedResults` to the number of unique products you want.
4. Start the run.
5. Download the dataset in JSON, HTML, CSV, Excel, or another format supported by Apify.

### Input

The Actor accepts two input fields.

| Field             | Type    | Description                                                                  |
| ----------------- | ------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `startUrl` | string | One Shein search or category URL. The URL must include a supported hostname. |
| `expectedResults` | integer | Target number of unique product rows to collect. Allowed range: 1 to 10,000. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "startUrl": "https://us.shein.com/pdsearch/bag",
    "expectedResults": 100
}
```

`expectedResults` is not a guaranteed final count. The run can finish with fewer rows if the listing has fewer available products or repeated products are filtered out.

### Supported Shein Regions

Use a `startUrl` from one of these supported Shein hostnames.

| Flag | Region         | Shein hostname   |
| ---- | -------------- | ---------------- |
| 🇺🇸   | United States  | `us.shein.com`   |

### Notes

The Actor removes duplicate product results within a run before saving rows to the dataset. Dedupe is based on stable product identifiers when available, with product URL and image/name fallback.

For multiple search or category URLs, create separate runs or tasks. Keeping one listing URL per run makes output counts, troubleshooting, and dataset review easier.

### FAQ and support

Does this Actor scrape product detail pages? No. This Actor extracts listing/search results. Use [Shein Product Detail](https://apify.com/notchgrid/shein-detail-products-scraper) when you already have product URLs and need product detail data.

Can the output fields vary? Yes. Shein listing pages can return different fields depending on page type, market, experiment, and product card format.

For bugs, feature requests, or custom data requirements, use the Actor Issues tab.
