## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Netherlands Company Registry Scraper — KVK, Verified

> **You paste a Dutch company name or KVK number. You get the real**
> **registry record** — legal name, status, legal form, and address — with
> a stable KVK number and the source behind every field.

### Chosen deliberately, not by default

This niche's registry data never breaks to the next anti-bot change — it's
public government data with an open API, not a scraped page. The market
slot itself was chosen after measuring seven jurisdictions: the Netherlands
had real demand (comparable to the UK's Companies House niche) with no
single dominant competitor.

### 5 advantages

1. **One bad name never kills your batch.**
2. **Never billed on a failed lookup.**
3. **Exact-match discipline.** A name search only returns a company when
   the name matches exactly — never "the first result" on an ambiguous
   query.
4. **Honest about scope.** Officer records and filing history are not
   included — documented plainly rather than a promised field that's empty.
5. **Hard cost cap you control.** Set `maxTotalChargeUsd`.

### Output

```json
{
  "company_number": "27312152",
  "legal_name": "ASML Holding N.V.",
  "trade_names": ["ASML"],
  "company_status": "active",
  "legal_form": "Naamloze Vennootschap",
  "registered_address": {"street": "De Run", "city": "Veldhoven", "country": "Netherlands"},
  "officers": [],
  "filings": [],
  "status": "ok"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, base FREE-tier prices: **$0.005** per company verified and delivered.
Paid Store plans pay less on every event — the largest plans reach $0.00275 on the cheapest event; the Pricing tab on this Actor's Store page is
always the authority. **No event is ever charged on an item that returns an `error`** —
a batch of 200 with one bad input bills 199.

### Use it from an AI agent (MCP)

One tool, `netherlands_company_registry`, same arguments as the Start form.
