## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### What can I get

- 🔍 **Search results** — any keyword, with brand and Special Buys theme filters
- 🗂️ **Whole categories & brands** — every product in a category or of a brand
- 🧾 **Full details** — ingredients, nutrition table, dietary claims, images and variants
- 🌍 **7 countries** — UK, Australia, Ireland, Germany (ALDI SÜD), Switzerland, Hungary and Slovenia (HOFER)

### Why Aldi Scraper

Most other Aldi scrapers fail you in one of four ways:

- 🗄️ **Inaccurate, cached, stale data** — last week's prices are useless
- 🧩 **Low-detail data** — a name and a price, never the full picture
- 💸 **Pay more to get the same data** — up to $5 per 1,000 products elsewhere
- 🪦 **Works today, breaks next month** — nobody maintains it

Aldi Scraper gets you fresh, detailed data, is priced honestly, and actively maintained.

### FAQs

#### Which countries are supported?

The UK, Australia, Ireland, Germany (ALDI SÜD), Switzerland, Hungary and Slovenia (HOFER). Pick one in **Country**; every row carries its `country`. An Aldi category or product URL already names its shop, so it is scraped from that shop whatever the **Country** setting. Aldi US and the ALDI Nord countries are not covered.

#### What language is the data in?

Each shop's own: English for the UK, Australia and Ireland, German for Germany and Switzerland, Hungarian for Hungary and Slovenian for Slovenia.

#### How many products can one search or category return?

Up to 6,000 per keyword, category or brand — Aldi's own limit for a single listing. Set **Max Products per Input** to cap it lower.

#### Will I be charged twice for the same product?

No. A product that appears in several of your inputs is scraped and billed once per run.

#### What does "Scrape Full Product Details" add?

Description, features, ingredients, allergens, dietary claims, the nutrition table, storage and usage instructions, countries of origin, the image gallery, badges and the product's variants. It adds $0.002 per product. If the full details of a product can't be read, you keep the standard row and pay only the standard rate.

#### Why are nutrition or ingredients empty for some products?

Aldi publishes them for most food but not for every product, and never for non-food items such as Special Buys hardware. Those fields are then empty.

#### Can I export to CSV or Excel?

Yes. Every row is flat, so the dataset exports to JSON, CSV, Excel or XML with one column per value.

#### Is this an official Aldi product?

No. Aldi Scraper is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ALDI.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search on Aldi — each is searched separately. Rows carry a `query` field so you can tell keywords apart. Leave empty to scrape only categories, brands or products.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Categories to scrape in full. Each entry is a category name (chocolate & sweets), a slug (food-cupboard/chocolate-sweets), a category ID (1588161416978053003) or an Aldi category URL (https://www.aldi.co.uk/products/food-cupboard/chocolate-sweets/k/1588161416978053003). Rows carry a `category_input` field.

## `brands` (type: `array`):

Brands to scrape in full — every product of the brand. Each entry is a brand name, case-insensitive (moser roth). Rows carry a `brand_input` field.

## `products` (type: `array`):

Aldi product IDs (000000000307934001 — leading zeros optional: 307934001) or product URLs (https://www.aldi.co.uk/product/dairyfine-milk-chocolate-000000000307934001). Rows carry a `product_input` field. Products are always scraped with full details (billed at the detailed-product rate). A product URL already names its Aldi shop, so it overrides Country.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Aldi shop to scrape. Names, descriptions and links come in the shop's own language.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order of results in every search, category and brand listing.

## `filterBrands` (type: `array`):

Only include products of these brands in searches and categories — brand names, case-insensitive, up to 10. Example: moser roth, choceur. Not applied to the Brands input above, which already lists a single brand.

## `theme` (type: `string`):

Only include products of this Special Buys theme in searches and categories, exactly as Aldi names it. Example: Halloween Fun. Leave empty for the whole range.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of products to scrape per keyword, category or brand. Use this to control your cost (1,000 products ≈ $1). Aldi serves at most 6,000 products per listing (200 pages of 30). Ignored for the Products input.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

When enabled, every product is also scraped in full — description, features, ingredients, allergens, dietary claims, nutrition table, storage and usage instructions, countries of origin, documents and variants. Still one dataset row per product, billed at the detailed-product rate (1,000 detailed products ≈ $3 vs $1 standard). Runs take longer because each product page is fetched individually.
