## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## France Company Search: companies from the official SIRENE register

**$1 per 1,000 companies. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

The four most used SIRENE and France company actors on Apify Store charge $4.00 to $80.00 per 1,000 results (Store prices checked 9 October 2026). This actor returns French company records for $1.

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/c2ePHeprxbkzSyAVp/input)

### What it costs

| Companies | This actor | Most used France company actors on the Store |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 | $4.00 to $80.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 | $40 to $800 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 | $400 to $8,000 |

Plus $0.001 per run. A weekly pull of 500 companies costs about $0.50 per run, or roughly $2 a month.

### Why people switch

- **One flat price.** Compute is included, so the bill follows the number of companies and nothing else.
- **Official open register.** Rows come from the French government's open company search (the SIRENE base with data from the RNE register), published under the Licence Ouverte. No key, no scraping of web pages.
- **Search the way you work.** Look up a name, a SIREN, a SIRET or an address, or skip the text and filter by postcode, department, activity code (NAF), legal form, employee bracket, company category, status and revenue.
- **Fast.** A 25 company search finished in about 3 seconds in our tests. A pull of 10,000 companies took about 18 minutes.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, type a company name, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "queries": ["Renault"], "companyStatus": "active", "maxResultsPerQuery": 25, "maxItems": 50 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

To build a lead list with no name at all, use filters only:

```json
{ "departments": ["69"], "activityCodes": ["62.01Z"], "companyStatus": "active", "maxItems": 500 }
```

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~france-company-register-sirene/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"queries": ["552081317"], "maxItems": 10}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/france-company-register-sirene").call(
    run_input={"queries": ["Renault"], "companyStatus": "active", "maxResultsPerQuery": 25, "maxItems": 50}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["siren"], item["name"], item["city"], item.get("latestRevenue"))
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/france-company-register-sirene
```

Then ask, for example: "List 100 active software companies (activity code 62.01Z) in department 75 with their revenue and size."

### Switching from another SIRENE or Pappers actor

Most take a search term or a SIREN and a result limit. Here they are `queries` (a list, so one run covers many lookups) and `maxItems`. The core fields are `siren`, `siret`, `name`, `status`, `legalFormCode`, `activityCode`, `address`, `directors` and `latestRevenue`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `queries` | list of text | none | One search per line: a company name, a 9 digit SIREN, a 14 digit SIRET or an address. Leave empty to use only the filters. |
| `postalCodes` | list | none | Keep companies with an establishment (head office or another site) in these postcodes. |
| `departments` | list | none | Same, by department code such as `75`, `2A` or `971`. |
| `activityCodes` | list | none | Main activity (NAF or APE) codes such as `62.01Z`. |
| `legalFormCodes` | list | none | INSEE legal category codes such as `5710` (SAS) or `5499` (SARL). |
| `employeeBrackets` | list | none | INSEE size codes, for example `11` for 10 to 19 employees. The input page lists them all. |
| `companyStatus` | text | `any` | `active`, `ceased` or `any`. |
| `companySize` | text | `any` | `PME`, `ETI` or `GE`, as classed by INSEE. |
| `minRevenue`, `maxRevenue` | number | none | Keep companies whose latest published revenue is in this range (EUR). Only companies that publish accounts can match. |
| `includeDirectors` | true or false | true | Adds the directors and officers listed in the register. |
| `includeFinances` | true or false | true | Adds revenue and net result by year. |
| `includeEstablishments` | true or false | false | Adds up to 10 sites that matched your search. |
| `maxResultsPerQuery` | number | 100 | The most companies per search line (up to 10,000). |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | Total companies for the run. Minimum 10. |

Give at least one search line or one filter. Example:

```json
{
  "queries": ["boulangerie"],
  "postalCodes": ["75011", "75012"],
  "companyStatus": "active",
  "includeEstablishments": true,
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 200,
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `siren`, `siret` | The 9 digit company number and the 14 digit number of its head office. |
| `name`, `legalName`, `acronym` | Display name, registered name and acronym. |
| `status` | `active` or `ceased`. `createdOn` and `closedOn` give the dates. |
| `legalFormCode`, `legalForm` | INSEE legal category code. The label is filled in for about twenty common codes only. |
| `activityCode`, `activitySection`, `activitySectionName` | Main activity (NAF) code and its section letter and name. |
| `category` | PME, ETI or GE, when INSEE has classed the company. |
| `employeeBracketCode`, `employeeBracket`, `employeeBracketYear` | Size bracket and the year it refers to. `isEmployer` tells whether it has employees. |
| `establishments`, `establishmentsOpen` | Number of sites ever registered and number still open. |
| `address`, `postalCode`, `city`, `department`, `region`, `latitude`, `longitude` | Head office location. |
| `tradeNames`, `labels` | Trade names of the head office and flags such as `association` or `socialEconomy`. |
| `directors` | List of `type`, `name`, `role`, `birthDate` (year and month, as published), `nationality` and, for company officers, `siren`. |
| `finances`, `latestRevenue`, `latestNetResult`, `latestFinancesYear` | Revenue and net result by year, for companies that publish accounts. |
| `matchingEstablishments` | Sites that matched your search, when switched on. |
| `updatedOn`, `sourceUrl`, `searchQuery`, `scrapedAt` | Last register update, a link to the public company page, the search line that found it and the collection time. |

### Sample results

Real rows from test runs on 9 October 2026. The directors list, coordinates and collection time are left out here to keep the page short.

### Limits

- **10,000 companies per search.** The register's search stops at 400 pages of 25. To go past that, split a search with filters (one department or one activity code at a time).
- **Not every company is there.** The register leaves out companies that asked not to be listed publicly (non diffusible), firms refused registration at the RCS, and the full history of predecessor and successor sites.
- **Revenue and net result** exist only for companies that publish their accounts. Many small firms and sole traders have none, so `finances` is empty for them.
- **Postcode and department filters** match any site of a company. The row shows the head office. Switch on `includeEstablishments` to see the matching sites.
- **Labels are partial.** The legal form label is filled in for about twenty common codes, and activity codes come with their section name, not the full NAF title.
- **Order is by relevance,** not by company size. A search for a famous name lists every company with that name, small ones included.
- **Pace.** The source allows 7 requests a second. The actor stays near 4 or 5 and waits when it is told to slow down. Big pulls run at roughly 9 companies a second.
- **People.** Directors are listed as the register publishes them: name, role and birth month and year.

### FAQ

**What is the cheapest France company data actor on Apify?**
This actor costs $1 per 1,000 companies with platform usage included. The most used SIRENE and France company actors on the Store charged $4.00 to $80.00 per 1,000 when we checked on 9 October 2026.

**How much does it cost to get 10,000 French companies?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price. The actor needs no proxy.

**Where does the data come from?**
From the French government's open company search API (recherche-entreprises.api.gouv.fr), which serves the SIRENE register and the national company register (RNE). It is open data under the Licence Ouverte. No login and no key are used.

**Can I look up one company by SIREN or SIRET?**
Yes. Put the number in `queries`. A SIRET search also returns the company that owns the site.

**How do I get every restaurant in one city?**
Leave `queries` empty, set `activityCodes` to `56.10A` and `56.10B`, set the city's postcodes, and raise `maxItems`.

**Is it legal?**
The actor reads public data only, with no login. Company records are published as open data by the French state. How you use them is up to you: follow the Licence Ouverte, the GDPR for any personal data such as director names, and the law where you live.

**Is this an official French government product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by INSEE, the French government or the data.gouv.fr team.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.
