## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Ads Transparency Scraper: Ads by Advertiser, Domain or Name

**$1 per 1,000 ads. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

The ads Google has shown for a company or website, from the public Google Ads Transparency Center: one row per ad with advertiser, format, a picture or preview link, and first and last shown dates. No Google account, API key or browser.

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/tb9K7mSuH2tRYn3eM/input)

### What it costs

| Ads | This actor |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 |

Plus $0.001 per run. One flat price, platform usage included, so there is no separate compute or proxy bill. A daily run of 200 ads costs $0.201, or about $6 a month.

### Why use it

- **One flat price.** Compute and proxy are included, so the bill follows the number of ads and nothing else.
- **Three ways in.** By website domain, by advertiser ID or page link, or by advertiser name.
- **Country and date filters.** About 90 countries, and a date range, the same filters the Transparency Center offers.
- **Clean rows.** The same ad found by two of your inputs is delivered once. Run summaries, errors and duplicates are never charged.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, add a domain such as `adidas.com` or an advertiser name, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "domains": ["adidas.com"], "advertiserNames": ["Shopify"], "region": "US", "maxItems": 50, "maxAdsPerSearch": 25 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~google-ads-transparency-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"domains": ["adidas.com"], "region": "US", "maxItems": 50}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/google-ads-transparency-scraper").call(
    run_input={"domains": ["adidas.com"], "region": "US", "maxItems": 50}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item.get("advertiserName"), item.get("format"), item.get("lastShown"), item["adUrl"])
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/google-ads-transparency-scraper
```

Then ask, for example: "Show me the 30 most recent Google ads that point to adidas.com in the US."

### Switching from another Google Ads Transparency actor

Websites go in `domains`, advertiser IDs or advertiser page links in `advertiserIds`, names in `advertiserNames`. All three are lists, so one run can cover many. The country goes in `region`, limits in `maxItems` and `maxAdsPerSearch`. The core fields are `advertiserName`, `advertiserId`, `creativeId`, `format`, `firstShown`, `lastShown` and `adUrl`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `domains` | list | none | Websites such as `nike.com`, or full links. Returns every advertiser pointing ads at them. |
| `advertiserIds` | list | none | IDs that start with AR, or advertiser page links from the Transparency Center. |
| `advertiserNames` | list | none | Names as you would type them in the Transparency Center search. |
| `advertisersPerName` | number | 1 | Matching advertiser accounts to read per name. The account with the most ads comes first. |
| `region` | country | `anywhere` | Only ads shown in this country. About 90 countries are listed. |
| `startDate`, `endDate` | date | none | Only ads shown during this range. Leave both empty for all dates. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | Stop after this many ads in total (minimum 10). |
| `maxAdsPerSearch` | number | 0 | Cap per domain, ID or matched advertiser. 0 means no cap. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | Apify datacenter | The default is enough in most runs. |

Give at least one domain, ID or name.

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `advertiserName`, `advertiserId` | Verified advertiser name and Google's advertiser ID (starts with AR). |
| `creativeId`, `format` | Google's ID for the ad (starts with CR), and `text`, `image` or `video`. |
| `domain` | Website the ad points to, when Google gives it. |
| `firstShown`, `lastShown`, `daysShown` | First and last shown (UTC), and days shown. |
| `imageUrl` | Still picture of the ad from Google's archive, when there is one. |
| `previewUrl` | Google's preview script for ads with no still picture. |
| `adUrl`, `advertiserUrl` | The ad and the advertiser on the Transparency Center. |
| `region`, `searchType`, `searchValue` | Country filter (or `anywhere`) and the input that found the ad. |
| `matchedAdvertiser`, `scrapedAt` | Advertiser a name matched; collection time. |

### Limits

- **Newest first.** Google sorts ads by when they were last shown. Big advertisers have tens of thousands; use `maxItems` and `maxAdsPerSearch`.
- **Date filter covers about the last 12 months**, as far back as Google's own filter goes. A range that ends earlier usually returns no ads. Short ranges in the last few days can return fewer ads while Google's daily data catches up.
- **Country is where the ad was shown**, not where the advertiser is based. A national company may show zero ads in another country, while its regional office shows many.
- **Ad text is not split into fields.** Text ads come as a picture of the ad (`imageUrl`); some image and video ads come only as Google's preview script (`previewUrl`).
- **Rate limits.** Google slows down addresses that search a lot. The actor pauses, moves to a fresh proxy session, and stops a search after repeated refusals, keeping what it has. It never tries to solve a CAPTCHA.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Google Ads Transparency ads?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price.

**How does a name search work?**
Each name is sent to the Transparency Center's own suggestion box. The actor picks the matching accounts with the most ads (set `advertisersPerName` to read more than one) and logs which it chose. The chosen name is in `matchedAdvertiser`.

**Why do I see advertisers I did not ask for?**
A domain search returns every advertiser whose ads point at that domain, such as regional offices and resellers.

**Can I get the ad headline and description as text?**
Not yet. Open `imageUrl` for a picture of the ad, or `adUrl` to see it on the Transparency Center.

**Which proxy should I use?**
The default Apify datacenter proxy worked in all our tests. If Google keeps refusing, switch to residential in the proxy field.

**Is it legal?**
The actor reads only public data that Google publishes for transparency, with no login. You are responsible for how you use the data: follow Google's terms and the laws where you live, especially for personal data.

**Is this an official Google product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.

### Changelog

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Websites whose ads you want, for example nike.com. Returns ads from every advertiser that points ads at the domain. A full link also works; the path is ignored.

## `advertiserIds` (type: `array`):

Google advertiser IDs (they start with AR) or advertiser page links from adstransparency.google.com.

## `advertiserNames` (type: `array`):

Advertiser names as you would type them in the Transparency Center search box, for example Shopify. Each name is matched to Google's advertiser list first, then its ads are read.

## `advertisersPerName` (type: `integer`):

A name can match several advertiser accounts (for example one per country). How many of the best matches to read for each name.

## `region` (type: `string`):

Only ads shown in this country. Anywhere returns ads from all countries.

## `startDate` (type: `string`):

Only ads shown on or after this day. Leave empty for no start limit.

## `endDate` (type: `string`):

Only ads shown on or before this day. Leave empty for today.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The run stops after this many ads in total. Minimum 10.

## `maxAdsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Cap for each domain, ID or matched advertiser, so one big advertiser does not use up the whole run. 0 means no cap.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Google limits how many searches one address can make in a short time, so calls go through Apify Proxy and move to a fresh session when Google asks to slow down. Datacenter proxy is the default and is enough in most runs.
