## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Leads Scraper: Local Businesses with Phones, Websites and Emails

**$1 per 1,000 places. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/tTG2nKX3afTnrZXV3/input)

### What it costs

| Places | Price |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 |

Plus $0.001 per run. One flat price, platform usage included, so there is no separate compute or proxy bill. The email lookup costs nothing extra. A daily run of 100 places costs $0.101, or about $3.03 over 30 days.

### Why use it

- **Emails at the same price.** When a place has its own website, the actor opens it and adds the emails and social profile links it finds. Every place row costs the same, with or without an email.
- **Fast.** In our tests 40 places with the email lookup took about 22 seconds.
- **Ready for a CRM.** Phone in local and international format, address split into street, city, postal code and state, coordinates, time zone and Google ids. Fields Google does not show are left out, not filled with blanks.
- **No repeats.** A place found by two of your searches is returned once, before you are charged. You can set a spending limit and the run stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, type a business type and a city, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "queries": ["dentist"], "location": "Austin, TX", "maxItems": 50 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~google-maps-leads-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"queries": ["dentist"], "location": "Austin, TX", "maxItems": 50}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/google-maps-leads-scraper").call(
    run_input={"queries": ["bakery"], "location": "Portland, OR", "maxItems": 50}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["name"], item.get("phone"), item.get("email"))
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/google-maps-leads-scraper
```

Then ask, for example: "Find 50 roofing contractors in Denver with phone numbers and emails, and list the ones rated 4.5 or higher."

### Switching from another Google Maps actor

Search terms go in `queries` (one per line; a line can name the place, such as `plumber in Leeds`). The area goes in `location`, and the result limit is `maxItems`. The email lookup is on by default (`findEmails`). The core fields are `name`, `address`, `phone`, `website`, `rating`, `reviewCount`, `email` and `googleMapsUrl`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `queries` | list of text | required | Business types or names, one per line, for example `dentist`. A line can also name the place: `plumber in Leeds`. |
| `location` | text | none | City or area added to every line that does not already mention it, for example `Austin, TX`. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | Total places for the run. Minimum 10. |
| `findEmails` | true or false | true | Open each business website and look for emails and social links. |
| `maxWebsiteVisits` | number | 1000 | Most websites opened in one run. Places past this limit are still returned, without the email lookup. 0 skips the lookup. |
| `maxRunSeconds` | number | none | Optional run time limit in seconds (the form starts at 240 for a quick run). At the limit the run stops starting new work and ends normally with every place found so far. Set 0 or leave it empty for no limit on big lists. |
| `language` | text | `en` | Language for category names and hours. |
| `countryCode` | text | `us` | Two letter country code for the search, for example `gb` or `de`. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify data center | Proxy for the Google Maps requests. Its cost is included in the price. |

Example:

```json
{
  "queries": ["roofing contractor", "electrician"],
  "location": "Denver, CO",
  "maxItems": 200,
  "findEmails": true
}
```

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `name`, `category`, `categories` | Business name and Google categories. |
| `address`, `street`, `neighborhood`, `city`, `postalCode`, `state`, `countryCode` | Full address and its parts. |
| `phone`, `phoneInternational` | Phone as shown, and in international format. |
| `website`, `domain` | The business's own website. |
| `rating`, `reviewCount`, `status` | Stars, number of reviews, and operating or closed. |
| `hoursToday`, `openStatus` | Today's hours and the open or closed line. |
| `latitude`, `longitude`, `timezone` | Location. |
| `placeId`, `cid`, `featureId`, `googleMapsUrl` | Google ids and the Maps link. |
| `email`, `emails` | First email and up to 5 emails found on the website. |
| `socialLinks` | Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok links found on the website. |
| `emailLookup` | What happened: `found`, `none on website`, `website unreachable`, `no website`, and so on. |
| `searchQuery`, `scrapedAt` | Which search found the place, and collection time. |

### Limits

- Google lists a few hundred places at most for one search line. For a bigger list, split the area into smaller searches, for example by neighbourhood or suburb.
- Hours cover today only, as shown in the Google Maps result list. The full weekly schedule is not included.
- In our tests about half of the places with a website showed an email on the home page or contact page (69 of 135). Sites that block automated visits, need JavaScript to show contact details, or hide the email in an image return no email.
- The actor visits at most two pages per website (home page, then one contact or about page) to keep runs fast and cheap.
- Emails are the addresses the business publishes on its own website. They are not verified by sending mail.
- If you set `maxRunSeconds`, the run stops starting new work at that limit and keeps what it found; the email lookup gets up to three quarters of that time. For big lists leave it empty and keep the run timeout long enough.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Google Maps places?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run. Google lists a few hundred places at most per search line, so plan many lines, for example one per suburb.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price, and so is the email lookup.

**Do I need a Google account or an API key?**
No. The actor reads public Google Maps listings and public business websites as a logged out visitor.

**Are the emails verified?**
They are the addresses the business publishes on its own website. We do not send test emails. The `emailLookup` field tells you whether an email was found, the site had none, the site could not be reached, or the place has no website.

**Can I turn the email lookup off?**
Yes. Set `findEmails` to false and you get the Google Maps data only, a little faster.

**Which countries work?**
Any country Google Maps covers. Set `countryCode` and write the location the way you would type it into Google Maps.

**Is it legal?**
The actor collects only public data that anyone can see without logging in. You are responsible for how you use it: follow Google's terms, the terms of the websites involved, and local law, including data protection and anti spam rules such as GDPR and CAN-SPAM when you contact businesses.

**Is this an official Google product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.

### Changelog

- October 2026: first release.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Business types or names to look up on Google Maps, one per line, for example "dentist" or "vegan restaurant". You can also write the place into the line itself, like "plumber in Leeds".

## `location` (type: `string`):

City, area or address to search in, for example "Austin, TX" or "Manchester, UK". Added to every search line that does not already mention it. Leave empty if your lines name the place.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The run stops after this many places in total, across all searches. Minimum 10. Google lists up to a few hundred places per search line, so add more specific lines (by neighbourhood or suburb) for bigger lists.

## `findEmails` (type: `boolean`):

When on, the actor opens each place's own website (home page, and one contact or about page when the home page shows no email) and adds the emails and social profile links it finds. When off, rows come straight from Google Maps and the run is faster.

## `maxWebsiteVisits` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit on business websites opened in one run for the email lookup. Places past this limit are still returned, without the email lookup. Set 0 to skip the lookup.

## `maxRunSeconds` (type: `integer`):

Optional. Stop starting new work after this many seconds and end normally, keeping every place found so far; the email lookup uses up to three quarters of this time. The form starts at 240 for a quick run. Set 0 for no limit on big lists (the run's own timeout still applies).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language code for category names and opening hours, for example en, de, fr, es.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Two letter country code Google uses for this search, for example us, gb, de, in. Helps when a place name exists in several countries.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify datacenter proxy is the default and works for Google Maps list pages. Business websites are visited directly.
