## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse Jobs Scraper: open roles from company job boards

**$1 per 1,000 jobs. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/bLaVEm6WD1Hb1hZ3R/input)

Paste the board token or board link of any company that hires through Greenhouse, and get its open roles as clean rows: title, location, department, office, link to apply, dates, and the pay range when the company shows one. Filter by keyword, location and department, and add the full job description if you need it. It reads the public Greenhouse job board API, so there is no login and no API key.

### What it costs

| Jobs | Price |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 |

Plus $0.001 per run. One flat price, platform usage included, so there is no separate compute or proxy bill. A daily run that collects 300 jobs costs about $0.30, or about $9 a month.

### Why use it

- **Many companies in one run.** List as many boards as you like. Each company is read in one request, so a run over a few boards takes seconds.
- **Tokens or links.** Paste `stripe`, or `https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe`, or an embed link with `?for=stripe`. The actor finds the token itself.
- **Filters that run before you pay.** Keyword in the title, location, department and a per company limit are applied first, so you are charged only for the jobs you keep.
- **Pay ranges and company fields.** When a company publishes a pay range, you get minimum, maximum and currency. Custom fields such as workplace type come through in `details`.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, add one or more company tokens or board links, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "companies": ["stripe", "airbnb"], "keyword": "engineer", "maxJobsPerCompany": 50, "maxItems": 100 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~greenhouse-jobs-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"companies": ["stripe", "airbnb"], "keyword": "engineer", "maxItems": 50}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/greenhouse-jobs-scraper").call(
    run_input={"companies": ["stripe", "airbnb"], "keyword": "engineer", "maxItems": 50}
)
for job in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(job["company"], job["title"], job["location"], job["url"])
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/greenhouse-jobs-scraper
```

Then ask, for example: "List the open design jobs at Airbnb on Greenhouse, with the link to apply."

### Switching from another Greenhouse actor

Most Greenhouse actors take a list of companies and a result limit. Here the list is `companies` (tokens or board links) and the limit is `maxItems`, with `maxJobsPerCompany` to keep one large board from using the whole run. The core fields are `company`, `title`, `location`, `department`, `url`, `postedAt` and `jobId`.

### How to find a company's board token

The token is the last part of the board address: `boards.greenhouse.io/stripe` or `job-boards.greenhouse.io/stripe` both mean the token is `stripe`. You can paste the whole address, you do not have to cut it out.

Many companies show their jobs on their own site. To find the token there, open any job and look at the address or the Apply button. A link such as `boards.greenhouse.io/cloudflare/jobs/7525971`, or an address with `gh_jid=` in it, shows the company hires through Greenhouse. The embed link on the page, `boards.greenhouse.io/embed/job_board?for=cloudflare`, carries the token after `for=`. The token is often the company name in lower case, but not always. If a token is wrong, the run log and the `RUN_SUMMARY` record list it under `notFound`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `companies` | list of text | none | Board tokens or board links, one per line. Required. |
| `keyword` | text | none | Keeps jobs whose title contains all of these words, in any order. Not case sensitive. |
| `location` | text | none | Keeps jobs whose location or office name contains this text. Several options with a semicolon: `London; Remote`. |
| `department` | text | none | Keeps jobs whose department name contains this text. Several options with a semicolon. |
| `includeDescription` | true or false | false | Adds the job description as plain text in `description`. Rows get larger. |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` | number | 200 | Most jobs taken from one board, after your filters (up to 5,000). |
| `maxItems` | number | 1000 | Total jobs for the run. Minimum 10. |

Example with filters:

```json
{
  "companies": ["https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/databricks", "cloudflare"],
  "keyword": "engineer",
  "location": "remote; london",
  "includeDescription": true,
  "maxJobsPerCompany": 25,
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `companyToken` | The board token that was read. |
| `company` | Company name as the board shows it. |
| `jobId` | Greenhouse job id. Stable, good for dropping repeats between runs. |
| `title` | Job title. |
| `location` | Location text of the posting. |
| `department` | Department name or names, as the company set them. Some companies add an internal code. |
| `offices` | Office names, when the board lists them. |
| `url` | Link to the job. For some companies this is a page on their own site. |
| `postedAt` | When the job was first published. |
| `updatedAt` | When the posting was last changed. |
| `requisitionId` | The company's own requisition id. Some boards put a placeholder text here. |
| `language` | Language code of the posting. |
| `payRanges` | Minimum, maximum and currency, only when the company publishes a pay range. |
| `details` | The company's custom fields, such as workplace type or cost center. Different for every company. |
| `description` | Plain text job description, only when `includeDescription` is on. |

### Limits

- Only open jobs that a company has published on its Greenhouse board are returned. Closed jobs, drafts and internal postings are not visible to the public API.
- A company needs a public Greenhouse board. If it uses another hiring system, or turned its board off, the token returns nothing. Boards hosted in Greenhouse's EU region (job-boards.eu.greenhouse.io) were not tested.
- Pay ranges appear only when the company chooses to publish them. Employment type has no standard field; when a company fills it in, it shows up inside `details`.
- `postedAt` is the first publish date, so a job that was reposted can look old. `updatedAt` shows the last change.
- `location` and `department` are free text set by each company. The same city can be spelled in different ways, so use a few `location` options if you filter.
- `url` is the company's own link to the job, which can be a page on its site instead of boards.greenhouse.io.
- The description is plain text made from the posting's HTML. Lists are marked with an asterisk and layout is simplified.
- Recruiter names, applicant numbers and application questions are not included.
- A board is read once per run and delivered in the order you listed the companies. Repeats of the same company and job id are removed before you are charged.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Greenhouse jobs?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price. The actor calls Greenhouse's public API directly and uses no proxy.

**Where does the data come from?**
From the public Greenhouse job board API (boards-api.greenhouse.io), the same source that fills a company's Greenhouse careers page. It needs no key and no login.

**How do I find a company's board token?**
Open a job at the company and look for `boards.greenhouse.io/<token>`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io/<token>` or an embed link with `for=<token>`. Pasting the whole link works. See the section above for more.

**How do I find only new jobs every day?**
Schedule a run and keep the `jobId` values you already have. You can also compare `postedAt` with yesterday's date.

**Why did a company give me no rows?**
Either the token is wrong (the log says "No Greenhouse board found" and the run summary lists it under `notFound`), the board has no open jobs, or your keyword, location and department filters matched nothing.

**Is it legal?**
The actor reads public data only, with no login. The jobs are published by the companies so that anyone can read and apply. How you use the data is up to you: follow the terms of the company and of Greenhouse, and the law where you live. Do not use the data to send unwanted messages.

**Is this an official Greenhouse product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Greenhouse Software.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.
