## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Norway Company Search: companies from the official Brreg register

**$1 per 1,000 companies. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

The four most used Norway company actors on Apify Store charge $3.00 to $50.00 per 1,000 results (Store prices checked 9 October 2026). This actor returns Norwegian company data from the official Brreg register for $1.

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/ZxRE1YBfllcQzcvA2/input)

### What it costs

| Companies | This actor | Most used Norway company actors on the Store |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 | $3.00 to $50.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 | $30 to $500 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 | $300 to $5,000 |

Plus $0.001 per run. A daily run that collects the 200 newest registrations costs about $0.20 a day, or about $6 a month.

### Why people switch

- **One flat price.** Platform usage is included, so the bill follows the number of companies and nothing else.
- **Main entities and business sites.** Search companies, associations and public bodies, or switch to sub-units (branches and sites) and list every site of one parent with `parentOrganizationNumber`.
- **Past the register's 10,000 limit.** One Brreg search stops at 10,000 results. For bigger runs the actor splits the search by municipality, organisation form and registration date by itself and drops repeats.
- **Useful filters.** Name, organisation number, municipality (name or number), NACE industry code, organisation form, employees, registration date, VAT register and status.
- **Roles when you need them.** Switch on `includeRoles` for the managing director, board and auditor, with names only.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, type a company name, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "unitType": "entities", "names": ["Equinor"], "status": "active", "sortBy": "employees", "maxItems": 50 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~norway-company-register-brreg/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"municipalities": ["Bergen"], "industryCodes": ["62"], "organizationForms": ["AS"], "maxItems": 100}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/norway-company-register-brreg").call(
    run_input={"municipalities": ["Bergen"], "industryCodes": ["62"], "organizationForms": ["AS"], "maxItems": 100}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["organizationNumber"], item["name"], item.get("employees"))
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/norway-company-register-brreg
```

Then ask, for example: "List the 30 largest active software companies in Oslo with their websites."

### Switching from another Norway company actor

Most Norway company actors take a name or an organisation number and a result limit. Here they are `names`, `organizationNumbers` and `maxItems`. The core fields are `organizationNumber`, `name`, `organizationForm`, `industryCode`, `employees` and the address fields.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `unitType` | text | `entities` | `entities` (companies, associations, public bodies) or `subunits` (business sites). |
| `names` | list of text | none | Company names, one search per line. |
| `organizationNumbers` | list of text | none | 9 digit numbers to look up. Spaces, an `NO` prefix and `MVA` are ignored. |
| `municipalities` | list of text | none | Four digit numbers (`0301`) or names (`Oslo`). |
| `industryCodes` | list of text | none | NACE codes such as `62`, `62.01` or `47.11`. A short code matches every code that starts with it. |
| `organizationForms` | list of text | none | Register codes such as `AS`, `ENK`, `ASA`, `ANS`, `DA`, `NUF`, `STI`, `FLI`. |
| `parentOrganizationNumber` | text | none | Sub-units only: the main entity they belong to. |
| `status` | text | `any` | `active` leaves out bankrupt entities and those being wound up. |
| `minEmployees`, `maxEmployees` | number | none | Registered employees. Main entities only. |
| `registeredFrom`, `registeredTo` | text | none | Registration dates as `YYYY-MM-DD`. |
| `vatRegistered` | text | `any` | `yes` or `no` for the VAT register. |
| `sortBy` | text | `organizationNumber` | `employees`, `registeredNewest`, `name` or `organizationNumber`. |
| `includeRoles` | true or false | false | Adds roles for each main entity. One extra request per entity. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | Total results for the run. Minimum 10. |

You need at least one name, number or filter. Several values in one list are searched together, for example two municipalities and two industry codes in one run.

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `organizationNumber`, `name`, `unitType` | The 9 digit number, the registered name and `entity` or `subunit`. |
| `organizationForm`, `organizationFormName` | Form code and its Norwegian description. |
| `industryCode`, `industryName`, `otherIndustries` | Main NACE code and description, plus the second and third codes. |
| `employees` | Registered number of employees, when the entity reports it. |
| `registeredAt`, `foundedAt`, `closedAt` | Register entry date, founding or start date, and closing date for sub-units. |
| `bankrupt`, `underLiquidation`, `underForcedLiquidation` | Status flags. |
| `inVatRegister`, `inBusinessRegister`, `inVoluntaryRegister`, `inGroup` | Register and group flags. |
| `website`, `email`, `phone`, `mobile` | Contact details the entity has registered. Many have none. |
| `street`, `postalCode`, `city`, `municipality`, `municipalityNumber`, `country` | Business address. |
| `postalAddress` | Postal address as one line. |
| `sectorCode`, `sectorName`, `shareCapital`, `capitalCurrency` | Institutional sector and registered share capital. |
| `lastAnnualAccountsYear` | Latest year with filed annual accounts. |
| `activity`, `purpose` | Activity text and the purpose from the articles. |
| `parentOrganizationNumber` | Parent entity, when there is one. |
| `roles` | With `includeRoles`: `role`, `roleCode`, `group`, `name`, `organizationNumber`, `deregistered`, `changedAt`. |
| `url` | The entity in the Brreg API. |

Fields the register has no value for are left out of the row.

### Limits

- One Brreg search returns at most 10,000 results. When you ask for more than that, the actor splits the search into smaller ones. A single slice that still holds more than 10,000 results is cut at 10,000 and the run summary says so.
- Name search matches the registered name, not trade names that are not in the register.
- The register has no revenue or profit figures. `lastAnnualAccountsYear` only tells you the year of the latest filed accounts.
- Contact fields (`website`, `email`, `phone`, `mobile`) exist only when the entity has registered them.
- `minEmployees` and `maxEmployees` use the number the entity has reported. Entities that report none are treated as 0.
- Roles give the role, the name and whether the role is still registered. Birth dates are left out on purpose. Roles are for main entities only and cost one extra request each.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Norwegian companies?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price. The actor needs no proxy.

**Where does the data come from?**
From the open Enhetsregisteret API of the Brønnøysund Register Centre (data.brreg.no). It is published under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD 2.0), which allows commercial use. Source: Brønnøysund Register Centre.

**Is it legal?**
The actor reads open register data only, with no login. NLOD 2.0 asks you to credit the source, so mention the Brønnøysund Register Centre when you publish the data. Names of role holders are personal data: use them in line with the GDPR and Norwegian law, and for business purposes only.

**Is this an official Brreg product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Brønnøysund Register Centre.

**How do I find only new companies?**
Set `sortBy` to `registeredNewest`, or use `registeredFrom`, and schedule a daily run. Use `organizationNumber` to drop companies you already have.

**Can I look up many organisation numbers at once?**
Yes. Put them in `organizationNumbers`. They are looked up in batches of 200, and `maxItems` still applies.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.
