## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC 13F Holdings: what institutional investors own, position by position

**$1 per 1,000 positions. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

One flat price, platform usage included, so there is no separate compute or proxy bill.

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/U9UvAgcuIDFxiX50N/input)

### What it costs

| Positions | This actor |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 |

Plus $0.001 per run. One manager's latest report usually runs from a few dozen to a few thousand positions, so a full portfolio pull of 500 positions costs about $0.50. Following 25 managers every quarter, 100 positions each, costs about $2.50 a quarter.

### Why use it

- **One flat price.** Compute is included, so the bill follows the number of positions and nothing else.
- **Whole portfolios, even big ones.** The information table is read as a stream, so a table with tens of thousands of positions fits in the smallest memory size. `holdingsPerFiling` returns the largest positions by value first, up to 10,000 per report.
- **Dollar values you can compare.** The SEC changed the form on 3 January 2023 from thousands of dollars to whole dollars. `valueUsd` is always in dollars, and each row shows its share of the whole portfolio.
- **Follow one stock.** Filter by CUSIP or by issuer name to see how a manager's position in a company looks, quarter after quarter.
- **Straight from the SEC.** It reads the filings on sec.gov with no key and keeps well under the SEC's request limit.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, enter a manager's CIK number such as `1067983`, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "managers": ["1067983"], "quarters": 1, "holdingsPerFiling": 100, "maxItems": 100 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

To find a manager's CIK number, search the manager's name on the SEC's EDGAR company search. Names and tickers also work for managers that appear in the SEC's company ticker list.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~sec-13f-institutional-holdings/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"managers": ["1067983"], "holdingsPerFiling": 20, "maxItems": 20}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/sec-13f-institutional-holdings").call(
    run_input={"managers": ["1067983"], "holdingsPerFiling": 20, "maxItems": 20}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["reportPeriod"], item["issuerName"], item["valueUsd"], item["percentOfPortfolio"])
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/sec-13f-institutional-holdings
```

Then ask, for example: "What are the ten largest positions in Berkshire Hathaway's latest 13F report, and what share of the portfolio is each?"

### Switching from another 13F actor

Most 13F actors take a manager or CIK and a quarter. Here they are `managers` (a list of CIK numbers, tickers or names) and either `quarters` (how many recent reports) or `reportPeriod` (one quarter end). The core fields are `managerName`, `reportPeriod`, `issuerName`, `cusip`, `valueUsd`, `shares` and `percentOfPortfolio`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `managers` | list of text | none | CIK numbers such as `1067983`, tickers, or names. Required. |
| `quarters` | number | 1 | How many of the latest quarterly reports to read per manager, 1 to 40. |
| `reportPeriod` | text | none | One quarter end such as `2026-06-30`. Replaces `quarters`. |
| `holdingsPerFiling` | number | 100 | Largest positions to return from each report, 1 to 10,000. |
| `issuerContains` | text | none | Only positions whose issuer name contains this text. |
| `cusips` | list of text | none | Only positions in these nine character CUSIPs. |
| `includeAmendments` | true or false | false | Also read amended reports (13F-HR/A). They can repeat positions of the same quarter. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | Total positions for the run, 10 to 10,000. |

Example, Apple positions across three quarters for two managers:

```json
{
  "managers": ["1067983", "1350694"],
  "quarters": 3,
  "cusips": ["037833100"],
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `managerName`, `managerCik` | The institutional manager that filed the report. |
| `formType`, `reportPeriod`, `filedDate`, `accession`, `filingUrl` | Which report the row came from: 13F-HR or 13F-HR/A, the quarter end, the filing date and a link to the filing on sec.gov. |
| `issuerName`, `titleOfClass`, `cusip`, `figi` | The security. The FIGI appears in newer reports only. |
| `valueUsd` | Value of the position in US dollars at the quarter end, as reported. |
| `shares`, `sharesType` | Shares (`SH`) or principal amount (`PRN`). |
| `putCall` | `Put` or `Call` for an option position. |
| `investmentDiscretion`, `otherManagers` | Who decides on the position, and the other managers sharing it. |
| `votingSole`, `votingShared`, `votingNone` | Voting authority in shares. |
| `percentOfPortfolio`, `portfolioValueUsd`, `positionsInReport` | The position's share of the whole report, the report's total value, and the number of positions in its table. |

### Sample results

Real rows from a test run on 20 October 2026 (Berkshire Hathaway, report for the quarter ended 30 June 2026). A few fields (CIK, accession number, form type, class, filing date, discretion and the two smaller voting fields) are left out here to keep the page short; every row has them.

### Limits

- **One row per position line, not per company.** A manager can list the same security on several lines, for example one per sub manager or per discretion type, so one issuer can appear more than once in a report. Add the lines up for a total.
- **Largest positions first.** `holdingsPerFiling` keeps the biggest positions by value. The share of portfolio still refers to every position in the report.
- **A 13F is a snapshot.** It lists long positions of US listed securities at the quarter end, filed up to 45 days later. It does not show short positions, cash, bonds that are not convertible, or trades during the quarter. Managers can ask the SEC to keep some positions confidential, and those do not appear.
- **Values in dollars.** For reports filed from 3 January 2023 the SEC form states whole dollars, and before that thousands. The actor applies that rule by filing date and checks it against the implied price per share, so `valueUsd` is in dollars either way. A check that overrides the rule is written in the run log.
- **Names and tickers.** Names and tickers match the SEC's company ticker list, which holds listed companies and not every investment manager. If a name does not match, or matches several companies, the actor says so in the log and skips it. A CIK number always works.
- **Pace.** The SEC allows 10 requests a second. The actor sends at most 8 a second and names itself and its Apify page in the User-Agent, as the SEC asks.
- **Table size.** A table is read as a stream and the run stops reading after 600,000 positions of one report, far more than any real report holds.
- **13F-HR only.** Notice reports (13F-NT) and combination reports (13F-CR) are not read, so a manager that files only those returns no rows. Filings made on paper are not included.
- **As filed.** Rows show what the manager reported. The SEC is the source of record, and nothing here is investment advice.
- **Free plan.** A run from a free Apify plan returns the first 10 results.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to scrape 13F holdings?**
$1 per 1,000 positions with platform usage included, plus $0.001 for each run. A full pull of a 10,000 position report costs $10.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price, and no proxy is needed.

**Where does the data come from?**
From the SEC's EDGAR system: the list of each manager's filings on data.sec.gov, then the cover page and the information table XML of each 13F-HR filing on sec.gov. No key and no third party is involved.

**Is it legal?**
The actor reads public data only, with no login. 13F filings are public records that the SEC publishes for everyone. How you use them is up to you: follow the SEC's fair access rules, the terms of any service you pass the data to, and the law where you live.

**Is this an official SEC product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

**How do I find a manager's CIK number?**
Search the manager's name on the SEC's EDGAR company search. The number in the result, such as 0001067983 for Berkshire Hathaway, works with or without the leading zeros.

**How do I see how a manager's holding of one stock changed?**
Set `cusips` to the stock's CUSIP, set `quarters` to how many reports you want, and read `shares` and `valueUsd` by `reportPeriod`.

**When does a new quarter appear?**
Managers file a 13F-HR within 45 days of each quarter end, so the report for 30 September appears by mid November. Only filed reports can be read.

**How do I follow filings every quarter?**
Schedule a run in the weeks after each quarter end with `reportPeriod` set to that quarter end, and use `accession` to drop filings you already have.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.

### Changelog

- October 2026: first release.

# Actor input Schema

## `managers` (type: `array`):

The institutional investment managers to read, one per line. A CIK number such as 1067983 always works. A ticker or a name such as Berkshire Hathaway works for managers that are in the SEC company list.

## `quarters` (type: `integer`):

How many of the most recent quarterly reports to read for each manager. 1 is the latest filed report.

## `reportPeriod` (type: `string`):

Optional. Read only the report for one quarter end, written like 2026-06-30. Valid quarter ends are 03-31, 06-30, 09-30 and 12-31. This replaces the number of quarterly reports.

## `holdingsPerFiling` (type: `integer`):

Return this many positions from each report, largest by value first. Raise it to get a whole portfolio, up to 10,000 per report.

## `issuerContains` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only positions whose issuer name contains this text, for example APPLE. Share of portfolio still refers to the whole report.

## `cusips` (type: `array`):

Optional. Only positions in these securities, by nine character CUSIP, for example 037833100 for Apple common stock.

## `includeAmendments` (type: `boolean`):

Amendments restate or add to an earlier report, so turning this on can return a position twice for the same quarter.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The run stops after this many positions in total. Minimum 10.
