## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Threads Search Scraper: public posts by keyword

**$1 per 1,000 posts. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

Threads Search Scraper collects public Threads posts that match a keyword. Give it one or more search words, choose the top list, the recent list or both, and switch on exact match to keep only posts that contain the keyword. Each row has the post text, author, time, likes, replies, reposts and media links.

The four most used Threads search actors on Apify Store charge $2.00 to $20.00 per 1,000 posts, and one or more add platform usage on top (Store prices checked 26 October 2026). This actor returns the same kind of data for $1.

Give it one or more search keywords. It reads Threads search as a logged out visitor, from the Top list, the Recent list or both, and returns one row per post with text, author, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, media and time. An exact match switch drops posts that do not contain your words. No login, cookies or API key are needed.

### How much does Threads Search Scraper cost?

| Posts | This actor | Most used Threads search actors on the Store |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 | $2.00 to $20.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 | $20 to $200 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 | $200 to $2,000 |

Plus $0.001 per run. One flat price, platform usage included, so there is no separate compute or proxy bill. You pay only for post rows in the dataset.

A realistic example: tracking 10 keywords every day on the Top list returns up to about 200 posts a run (our tests gave 19 to 20 posts per keyword), so about $0.20 a run and about $6 a month.

### Why people switch

- **One flat price.** Proxy and compute are included; the bill follows the number of posts.
- **Top, recent or both.** Read the Top list, the Recent list, or both in one run. Recent posts added by the second list must contain your keyword.
- **Exact match switch.** Threads search also returns posts it links to the keyword by topic, picture or language. Turn on `exactMatchOnly` to keep only posts whose text or hashtags contain every word of the keyword.
- **See which posts contain the keyword.** Every row has `mentionsKeyword`, true or false, so you can filter later if you left exact match off.
- **No login.** It reads what a logged out visitor sees. No post appears twice in one run, and summaries are never billed.

### How to use Threads Search Scraper

1. Open the actor, type one or more keywords, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "searchQueries": ["sourdough", "pickleball"], "searchSort": "top", "exactMatchOnly": false, "maxItems": 50 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~threads-keyword-search-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"searchQueries": ["sourdough"], "searchSort": "recent", "maxItems": 50}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/threads-keyword-search-scraper").call(
    run_input={"searchQueries": ["pickleball"], "exactMatchOnly": True, "maxItems": 50}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["publishedAt"], item["authorUsername"], item["likeCount"], item["url"])
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/threads-keyword-search-scraper
```

Then ask, for example: "Search Threads for sourdough, keep only exact matches, and list the five posts with the most likes."

### Switching from another Threads search actor

Most Threads search actors take search terms and a result limit. Here they are `searchQueries` and `maxItems`. The core output fields are `text`, `authorUsername`, `publishedAt`, `likeCount`, `replyCount`, `repostCount`, `searchQuery` and `url`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `searchQueries` | list of text | required | Keywords or phrases to search. Each one is searched on its own. |
| `searchSort` | `top`, `recent` or `both` | `top` | Which Threads list to read per keyword. `both` reads Top, then Recent, and keeps only Recent posts that contain the keyword. |
| `exactMatchOnly` | true or false | false | Keep only posts whose text or hashtags contain every word of the keyword. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | The run stops after this many posts in total (minimum 10, maximum 10,000). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | Datacenter | Datacenter proxy with a new address per request. After two blocked requests in a row it switches to residential for up to 10 requests. Pick the Residential group to use it from the start. Cost is included. |

### What data does Threads Search Scraper return?

One row per post.

- **Post:** `postId`, `code`, `url`, `text`, `publishedAt` (UTC), `likeCount`, `replyCount`, `repostCount`, `quoteCount`, `mediaType` (text, image, video or carousel), `imageUrls`, `videoUrls`, `linkUrl`, `isReply`, `replyToUsername`, `quotedPostUrl`, `repostOfUrl`, `hashtags`, `mentions`, `topicTag` (the Threads topic tag above the post, such as "Pickleball Threads").
- **Author:** `authorUsername`, `authorName`, `authorId`, `authorVerified`, `authorAvatarUrl`.
- **Search:** `searchQuery` (the keyword that found the post), `searchList` (top or recent), `mentionsKeyword` (true when the text or hashtags contain every word of the keyword), `source` (always `search`).
- **Run:** `scrapedAt`.

Empty fields are left out of a row.

### Sample results

Real rows from a test run on 26 October 2026, shortened to the main fields.

```json
[
  {"url": "https://www.threads.com/@lisa.m.75/post/De7j4DKDWGF", "text": "Wow this crumb is freaking DOUGHP the swirls are amazing!! #sourdough #tiedyesourdough ...",
   "publishedAt": "2026-10-25T20:25:14.000Z", "likeCount": 1922, "replyCount": 75, "repostCount": 23,
   "authorUsername": "lisa.m.75", "mediaType": "video", "searchQuery": "sourdough", "searchList": "top", "mentionsKeyword": true, "source": "search"},
  {"url": "https://www.threads.com/@sammorris.pb/post/De9LTlQjDQw", "text": "Three questions place a new player better than a long form: Have you played before? ...",
   "publishedAt": "2026-10-26T11:29:02.000Z", "likeCount": 0, "replyCount": 0, "repostCount": 0,
   "authorUsername": "sammorris.pb", "mediaType": "text", "searchQuery": "pickleball", "searchList": "top", "mentionsKeyword": true, "source": "search"},
  {"url": "https://www.threads.com/@jostaana/post/DdEg6GVI0mV", "text": "Our current best seller. Such a pretty color 🥹",
   "publishedAt": "2026-09-09T14:49:38.000Z", "likeCount": 83, "replyCount": 48, "repostCount": 4,
   "authorUsername": "jostaana", "mediaType": "carousel", "topicTag": "Pickleball Threads", "searchQuery": "pickleball", "searchList": "top", "mentionsKeyword": false, "source": "search"}
]
```

The third row is a post that Threads linked to the keyword through its topic tag. With `exactMatchOnly` on, it would not be returned.

### Limits

- Threads shows a logged out visitor one page per keyword and result list. In our tests the Top list held 19 to 20 posts per keyword (earlier checks of busy keywords gave about 15 to 35). Threads offers a logged out visitor no next page of search results, so there is no way to read further without a login. For more rows, add more keywords or set `searchSort` to `both`. For a profile's posts or a hashtag, use the [Threads Profile Scraper](https://apify.com/one_dollar_store/threads-profile-posts-scraper) or the [Threads Hashtag Scraper](https://apify.com/one_dollar_store/threads-hashtag-posts-scraper).
- Top results can include older posts. Recent results lean to the last few hours.
- Search can return posts that Threads links to the keyword by topic or picture even when the word is not in the text. In our tests that was 5 to 7 rows in 37 to 40. Turn on `exactMatchOnly` if you only want posts that contain the keyword.
- Private profiles and deleted posts are not available.
- Threads' robots.txt asks automated clients not to crawl the site. This actor reads only public pages, as a logged out visitor, at a modest rate (three keywords at a time, one request per list). You decide for yourself how to use the data.
- One run delivers at most 10,000 posts and lasts up to 10 minutes by default. Raise Timeout under Run options if you list many keywords.
- A run ends early, and says so in its status line, when several keywords in a row cannot be read, or when it is about to reach its time limit. You are charged only for the posts delivered.

### FAQ

**What is the cheapest Threads search scraper on Apify?**
This actor costs $1 per 1,000 posts with platform usage included. The four most used Threads search actors on the Store charged $2.00 to $20.00 per 1,000 when we checked on 26 October 2026. Prices change, so compare on the Store before you decide.

**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Threads posts?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run. Because Threads shows a logged out visitor one page per keyword and list, 10,000 posts takes many keywords.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage, including the proxy, is included in the $1 per 1,000 price.

**Do I need a Threads or Instagram account?**
No. The actor only reads public pages that anyone can open without logging in.

**What if Threads refuses a request?**
It tries again from a new proxy address, up to three times. After two blocked requests in a row it switches from the datacenter to the residential proxy for up to 10 requests. If several keywords in a row fail, the run stops early and says so in the log.

**Is it legal?**
The actor collects only public data that Threads shows to any visitor. Threads' robots.txt asks automated clients not to crawl the site; this actor reads public pages as a logged out visitor at a modest rate, and you decide for yourself how to use the data. Follow the Threads terms of use and the data protection laws that apply to you, such as GDPR or CCPA, especially when you store or process personal data.

**Is this an official Threads product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta or Threads.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Words or phrases to search on Threads, for example sourdough or standing desk. Each keyword is searched on its own.

## `searchSort` (type: `string`):

Which Threads result list to read for each keyword. Both reads the Top list and then the Recent list, keeping only Recent posts that contain the keyword; it costs one more page per keyword and usually adds a few posts.

## `exactMatchOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Threads search also returns posts it links to the keyword by topic, picture or language even when the words are not in the text. Turn this on to keep only posts whose text or hashtags contain every word of the keyword. You get fewer posts, all of them on topic.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The run stops after this many posts in total. Minimum 10, maximum 10,000. Threads shows a logged out visitor only one page per keyword and list, so add more keywords for more rows.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

The default is the Apify datacenter proxy with a new address for every request. If Threads blocks two requests in a row, the run switches to residential proxy for up to 10 requests. Pick the Residential group here to use it from the start. Costs are included in the price.
