## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Threads Scraper: Public Posts by Keyword or Profile

**$1 per 1,000 posts. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

The four most used Threads actors on Apify Store charge $2.50 to $5.99 per 1,000 posts (Store prices checked 5 October 2026). This actor returns the same kind of data for $1.

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/w5k9x5Vh5XFea6eux/input)

### What it costs

| Posts | This actor | Most used Threads actors on the Store |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 | $2.50 to $5.99 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 | $25 to $59.90 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 | $250 to $599 |

Plus $0.001 per run. A daily run of 300 posts costs about $0.30, or about $9 a month. You pay only for post rows in the dataset; set `maxItems` to cap a run.

### Why people switch

- **One flat price.** Residential proxy and compute are included; the bill follows the number of posts.
- **Keywords and profiles in one run**, from the Top list, the Recent list or both.
- **No login.** No account, cookies or API key; it reads what a logged out visitor sees.
- **Clean rows.** No post twice in one run, summaries never billed, and `exactMatchOnly` drops posts without your keyword.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, type a keyword or a username, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "searchQueries": ["espresso"], "usernames": ["nasa"], "searchSort": "top", "maxItems": 50 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~threads-post-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"searchQueries": ["espresso"], "maxItems": 50}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/threads-post-scraper").call(
    run_input={"usernames": ["nasa", "zuck"], "maxItems": 50}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["publishedAt"], item["authorUsername"], item["likeCount"], item["url"])
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/threads-post-scraper
```

Then ask, for example: "Find public Threads posts about matcha and list the five with the most likes."

### Switching from another Threads actor

Most Threads actors take usernames or search terms and a result limit. Here they are `usernames`, `searchQueries` and `maxItems`. The core fields are `text`, `authorUsername`, `publishedAt`, `likeCount`, `replyCount`, `repostCount` and `url`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `searchQueries` | list of text | empty | Keywords to search. Each keyword is searched on its own. |
| `usernames` | list of text | empty | Profiles: `zuck`, `@zuck` or the profile link. |
| `searchSort` | `top`, `recent` or `both` | `top` | Result list per keyword. `both` reads Top, then Recent (only Recent posts that contain the keyword). |
| `exactMatchOnly` | true or false | false | Keep only posts whose text or hashtags contain every word of the keyword. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | The run stops after this many posts in total (minimum 10). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | Residential | Residential works best. Its cost is included. |

Give at least one keyword or one profile.

### Output fields

`postId`, `code`, `url`, `text`, `publishedAt` (UTC), `likeCount`, `replyCount`, `repostCount`, `quoteCount`, `authorUsername`, `authorName`, `authorId`, `authorVerified`, `authorAvatarUrl`, `authorFollowers` (profile rows), `mediaType` (text, image, video or carousel), `imageUrls`, `videoUrls`, `linkUrl`, `isReply`, `replyToUsername`, `quotedPostUrl`, `repostOfUrl`, `hashtags`, `mentions`, `source` (search or profile), `searchQuery`, `searchList`, `profileUsername`, `scrapedAt`. Empty fields are left out of a row.

### Sample results

Real rows from a test run on 4 October 2026, shortened to the main fields.

   "authorUsername": "evertts_gomes", "mediaType": "text", "source": "search", "searchQuery": "espresso", "searchList": "top"}
]
```
### Limits
- Threads shows a logged out visitor one page of results per keyword list and one page per profile. In our tests that was about 15 to 35 posts per keyword list and about 7 to 10 posts per profile, including the profile owner's replies in their own threads. Older profile posts need a login, which this actor does not use. For more posts, add more keywords or profiles, or set `searchSort` to `both`.
- Top results can include older posts. Recent results lean to the last few hours.
- Search can return posts that Threads links to the keyword by topic or picture even when the word is not in the text. Turn on `exactMatchOnly` if you only want posts that contain the keyword.
- Private profiles and deleted posts are not available.
### FAQ
**What is the cheapest Threads scraper on Apify?**
This actor costs $1 per 1,000 posts with platform usage included. The four most used Threads actors on the Store charged $2.50 to $5.99 per 1,000 when we checked on 5 October 2026.
**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 Threads posts?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run. Because Threads shows a logged out visitor one page per keyword or profile, 10,000 posts takes many keywords or profiles.
**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage, including the residential proxy, is included in the $1 per 1,000 price.
**Do I need a Threads or Instagram account?**
No. The actor only reads public pages that anyone can open without logging in.
**What if Threads refuses a request?**
It tries again from a new proxy address, up to three times. If several targets in a row fail, the run stops early and says so in the log.
**Is it legal?**
The actor collects only public data that Threads shows to any visitor. You are responsible for how you use it: follow the Threads terms of use and the data protection laws that apply to you, such as GDPR or CCPA, especially when you store or process personal data.
**Is this an official Threads product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta or Threads.
**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.
**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.
### Changelog
- October 2026: first release.
# Actor input Schema
## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):
Words or phrases to search on Threads. Each keyword is searched on its own. Leave empty if you only want profile posts.
## `usernames` (type: `array`):
Threads usernames or profile links, for example zuck, @zuck or https://www.threads.com/@zuck. Returns the posts the public profile page shows.
## `searchSort` (type: `string`):
Which Threads result list to read for each keyword. Both reads the Top list and then the Recent list, keeping only Recent posts that mention the keyword; it costs one more page per keyword and usually adds a few posts.
## `exactMatchOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Threads search also returns posts it links to the keyword by topic, picture or language even when the words are not in the text. Turn this on to keep only posts whose text or hashtags contain every word of the keyword. You get fewer posts, all of them on topic.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
The run stops after this many posts in total. Minimum 10.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Threads limits repeated visits from one address. Residential proxy works best and is the default; each page is a single small request.
