## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Find a Tender: Public Contract Notices with Buyer, Value and Deadline

**$1 per 1,000 notices. Platform usage included. No rental, no minimum.**

The four most used UK tender actors on Apify Store charge $2.00 to $10.00 per 1,000 results (Store prices checked 20 October 2026). This actor reads the official Find a Tender notice feed for $1.

[Open it in Apify Console](https://console.apify.com/actors/tTuOjItu0EtUcQaAr/input)

### What it costs

| Notices | This actor | Most used UK tender actors on the Store |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $1.00 | $2.00 to $10.00 |
| 10,000 | $10.00 | $20 to $100 |
| 100,000 | $100.00 | $200 to $1,000 |

Plus $0.001 per run. A daily run that collects 100 new tender notices costs about $0.10 per run, or about $3 a month.

### Why people switch

- **One flat price.** Compute is included and no proxy is needed, so the bill follows the number of notices and nothing else.
- **Filters that matter for bidding.** Keep notices by keyword, buyer name, CPV code, value range, or only those still open for bids.
- **Buyer contact and award results.** Rows carry the buyer's email and website when the notice has them. Award notices list the suppliers and the awarded value.
- **Look up a notice by number.** Give a notice number such as `098725-2026` or a procurement process id and get exactly that notice.
- **Official feed, no key.** Data comes from the Find a Tender OCDS API, published under the Open Government Licence.

### Quick start

1. Open the actor, choose a stage, press **Start**.
2. Or paste this input:

```json
{ "stage": "tender", "daysBack": 2, "keywords": ["cleaning"], "maxItems": 50 }
```

3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### Use it from code

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/one_dollar_store~uk-find-a-tender-notices/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"stage": "tender", "daysBack": 2, "keywords": ["cleaning"], "maxItems": 50}'
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("one_dollar_store/uk-find-a-tender-notices").call(
    run_input={"stage": "tender", "daysBack": 2, "keywords": ["cleaning"], "maxItems": 50}
)
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item.get("deadline"), item["buyerName"], item["title"], item.get("valueAmount"))
```

### Use it from an AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other assistants can call this actor through Apify's MCP server. Add it with this server address:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=one_dollar_store/uk-find-a-tender-notices
```

Then ask, for example: "List the UK tender notices from the last two days about cleaning services, with buyer, value and bid deadline."

### Switching from another Find a Tender actor

Most Find a Tender actors take a search term and a result limit. Here they are `keywords` (a list, one search per line) and `maxItems`. You also choose the notice `stage` and how many days back to read. The core output fields are `noticeId`, `title`, `buyerName`, `valueAmount`, `deadline`, `cpvCode` and `noticeUrl`.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `stage` | text | `tender` | `tender` (open for bids, with later changes to them), `planning` (early notices), `award` (who won) or `all` (also cancellations and contract changes). |
| `daysBack` | number | 2 | Read notices updated in the last 1 to 31 days, newest first. |
| `keywords` | list of text | none | One search per line. A notice is kept if its title, description, buyer name or CPV description contains all the words on at least one line. |
| `buyerContains` | text | none | Keep notices whose buyer name contains this text, for example `NHS`. |
| `cpvCodes` | list of text | none | Keep notices with a CPV code starting with one of these, for example `72` for IT services or `45` for construction. |
| `minValue`, `maxValue` | number | none | Keep notices whose stated value is in this range, in the currency of the notice (normally pounds). Notices with no value are dropped when either is set. |
| `onlyOpen` | true or false | false | Drop tender notices whose deadline has passed. |
| `noticeIds` | list of text | none | Read specific notices instead of searching. Notice numbers like `098725-2026` or process ids like `ocds-h6vhtk-0001b4`. Other filters are ignored. |
| `includeRaw` | true or false | false | Adds the complete OCDS release as a field called `raw`. Rows get much larger. |
| `maxItems` | number | 100 | Total notices for the run, 10 to 10,000. |

Example:

```json
{
  "stage": "tender",
  "daysBack": 7,
  "cpvCodes": ["72"],
  "minValue": 100000,
  "onlyOpen": true,
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Output fields

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `noticeId`, `ocid`, `noticeUrl` | Notice number, process id shared by all notices of one procurement, and the page on Find a Tender. |
| `stage`, `noticeType`, `noticeCode` | Plain stage, the release tags as published (`tender`, `tenderUpdate`, `award+contract` and so on) and the notice code such as `UK4` or `UK6`. |
| `title`, `description`, `status` | What the buyer wants. The description is cut at 4,000 characters. |
| `publishedAt`, `deadline` | When this version was published, and the last time to bid or register interest. Dates keep the offset the service publishes. |
| `buyerName`, `buyerId`, `buyerType` | The contracting authority, its identifier and its kind. |
| `buyerAddress`, `buyerContact`, `buyerEmail`, `buyerPhone`, `buyerWebsite` | Contact details, when the notice has them. |
| `valueAmount`, `valueCurrency` | Estimated value of the contract. |
| `awardedValue`, `awards` | Award notices: total awarded and, for each award, date, status, value, currency and supplier names. |
| `category`, `aboveThreshold` | goods, services or works; whether the notice says it is above the legal threshold. |
| `procurementMethod`, `procurementMethodDetails` | Procedure family and name. |
| `cpvCode`, `cpvDescription`, `cpvCodes` | Main CPV code with its words, and every CPV code on the notice. |
| `regions` | NUTS region codes of delivery, for example `UKG31`. |
| `lotCount`, `documentCount` | Lots in the notice and tender documents listed. |
| `suitableForSme`, `suitableForVcse` | True when a lot is marked suitable for small firms or voluntary and community groups. |
| `contractStart`, `contractEnd` | Planned contract period. |

Fields a notice does not have are left out.

### Limits

- **Up to 31 days back.** Each run reads notices updated in the last 1 to 31 days. For an older notice, look it up by its notice number.
- **The service filters only by update time.** Stage, keyword, buyer, CPV and value filters are applied by the actor on the notices it reads. A narrow filter over many days reads many notices before it finds matches. In one test, 8 requests read 484 notices in 8 seconds and kept 4.
- **Reading speed is limited by the service.** It turns away callers that send too many requests, so the actor sends at most 10 requests in any 2 minutes after a first burst, each returning up to 100 notices. That is about 500 notices a minute once the burst is used. A run ends cleanly at its time limit with the rows found so far.
- **About a fifth of notices are tender notices.** In one 24 hour test the service updated 466 notices. Most of the rest were award and contract notices. Use `stage` to pick what you need.
- **Some fields are often missing.** In a test of 50 tender notices, 39 stated a value and 45 had a deadline. Missing fields are left out. Values are not converted between currencies.
- **Changes appear as extra rows.** A change to a tender is published as its own notice with `noticeType` set to `tenderUpdate`. Notices of one procurement share the same `ocid`.
- **Documents are counted, not downloaded.** You get the number of tender documents and the notice link, not the files.
- **Larger UK contracts only.** Find a Tender is the UK service for larger public contracts. Some buyers publish smaller ones there too; `aboveThreshold` says which. For smaller contracts, see the UK Contracts Finder actor below.
- **Not advice.** Check the notice on Find a Tender before you bid. Dates, values and conditions can change.

### FAQ

**What is the cheapest UK Find a Tender scraper on Apify?**
This actor costs $1 per 1,000 notices with platform usage included. The four most used UK tender actors on the Store charged $2.00 to $10.00 per 1,000 when we checked on 20 October 2026.

**How much does it cost to scrape 10,000 tender notices?**
$10, plus $0.001 for each run.

**Do I pay for compute or proxy on top?**
No. Platform usage is included in the $1 per 1,000 price. The official API is read directly, so no proxy is used.

**Where does the data come from?**
From the Find a Tender OCDS API, run by the UK Cabinet Office. No key and no login are needed. Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

**How do I monitor new tenders every day?**
Schedule a run with `stage` set to `tender` and `daysBack` set to `1`, and use `noticeId` to drop notices you already have.

**Why do I see the same tender twice?**
When a buyer changes a tender, the service publishes a new notice. It appears as a row with `noticeType` `tenderUpdate` and the same `ocid` as the original.

**Why does a notice have no value or deadline?**
Not every notice states them. Planning notices and some updates have no deadline, and some buyers do not publish a value.

**Is it legal?**
The actor reads public data only, with no login. The notices are published for anyone to read, under the Open Government Licence. How you use them is up to you: follow the licence, the site's terms and the law where you live.

**Is this an official Find a Tender product?**
No. It is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Cabinet Office, the UK government or Find a Tender.

**Do I need an Apify account?**
Yes. Actors run from an Apify account, and a free account is enough to start: it includes $5 of platform usage every month. You can [sign up here](https://www.apify.com?fpr=ymnoit). This is a referral link and it costs you nothing.

**Is there a limit on the free plan?**
Yes. A run started from a free plan account delivers the first 10 results, then ends with a message and a link to the plans. Any paid plan returns everything you ask for, up to your own limit. The price per result is the same on every plan.

### Changelog

- October 2026: first release.

# Actor input Schema

## `stage` (type: `string`):

Tender notices invite bids and include later changes to them. Planning notices announce a buying plan early. Award notices report who won. All stages also adds cancellations and contract changes.

## `daysBack` (type: `integer`):

Read notices updated in the last days, newest first. The service limits how fast it can be read, so a long window with a narrow keyword filter takes several minutes.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep a notice if its title, description or buyer name contains all the words on at least one line. One search per line, for example: cyber security. Leave empty to keep every notice.

## `buyerContains` (type: `string`):

Keep only notices from buyers whose name contains this text, for example NHS or Transport for London.

## `cpvCodes` (type: `array`):

Keep a notice if one of its CPV codes starts with one of these numbers, for example 72 for IT services or 45 for construction. Leave empty for all.

## `minValue` (type: `integer`):

Keep only notices with a stated value at or above this amount (in the currency of the notice, normally pounds). Notices with no stated value are dropped when this is set.

## `maxValue` (type: `integer`):

Keep only notices with a stated value at or below this amount. Notices with no stated value are dropped when this is set.

## `onlyOpen` (type: `boolean`):

Drop tender notices whose deadline has already passed.

## `noticeIds` (type: `array`):

Read specific notices instead of searching. Use a notice number such as 012345-2026, or a procurement process id such as ocds-h6vhtk-0001b4. The other filters are ignored.

## `includeRaw` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the complete release as read from the API in a field called raw. Makes rows much larger.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The run stops after this many notices. Minimum 10.
