## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## TikTok Signals & Creator Data Scraper API

TikTok scraper API for extracting structured creator profiles, videos, search results, hashtags, followers, and comments from one Apify Actor. Use it for creator intelligence, trend discovery, monitoring, audience research, and agent workflows without separate TikTok integrations.

### What this TikTok scraper extracts

- Creator profiles by username
- Creator video feeds by `secUid`
- Video details by ID or share URL
- Video comments with pagination
- Keyword-based video search
- Hashtag video feeds by challenge ID
- Creator followers by `secUid`

Each target becomes one structured dataset row. Each successful target costs `$0.0035`; failed targets become uncharged error rows.

### Example input

```json
{
  "operation": "profile",
  "targets": ["tiktok", "natgeo"],
  "count": 15,
  "region": "US",
  "includeRaw": false,
  "failOnError": false,
  "maxConcurrency": 3
}
```

| Operation | Target format |
|---|---|
| `profile` | Username, with or without `@` |
| `posts`, `followers` | Creator `secUid` |
| `video`, `comments` | Video ID |
| `share_url` | Full TikTok share URL |
| `search` | Search keyword |
| `hashtag` | Hashtag challenge ID |

For paginated search runs, pass both `cursor` as the numeric offset and `searchId` from the previous response.

### Output and API use

The default dataset contains `product`, `platform`, `operation`, `target`, `endpoint`, `success`, `requestId`, `fetchedAt`, `latencyMs`, `data`, and `error`. Run it through the Apify API:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/oneary~tiktok-signals-creator-data-scraper-api/runs?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d @examples/input.json
```

### Reliability and security

- The Actor respects the maximum charge selected for each run.
- Concurrency is bounded between 1 and 10.
- Credentials are read only from environment variables.
- Errors never include authentication headers or keys.
- `failOnError` supports strict automation pipelines.

Use the Actor only for lawful, authorized data workflows and follow applicable platform terms, privacy rules, and retention requirements.

### Development

```bash
npm test
npm run lint
npm run typecheck
npm run validate:actor
npm run build
```

# Actor input Schema

## `operation` (type: `string`):

Select the TikTok data job. The required target format changes with the operation.

## `targets` (type: `array`):

Add up to 100 targets. Use usernames, secUid values, video IDs, keywords, challenge IDs, or share URLs according to the selected operation.

## `count` (type: `integer`):

Requested page size for feeds, search, comments, hashtags, and followers.

## `cursor` (type: `string`):

Numeric cursor or offset from a previous response. Leave empty for the first page.

## `searchId` (type: `string`):

Search ID returned with the previous search page. Use it together with the offset when paginating search results.

## `region` (type: `string`):

Two-letter region code used by supported operations, for example US, GB, JP, or ID.

## `includeRaw` (type: `boolean`):

Include request, billing, and timing metadata together with each data payload.

## `failOnError` (type: `boolean`):

When disabled, failed targets become error rows and remaining targets continue.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Number of targets processed in parallel.

```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
Successful and failed target rows in the default dataset.
# API
You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.
## JavaScript example
```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("oneary/tiktok-signals-creator-data-scraper-api").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
