## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Scraper – Profiles, Posts & Followers

Extract public data from [Bluesky](https://bsky.app) in seconds: **profiles, posts, followers and following lists**. The scraper uses the official AT Protocol public API, so it needs **no login, no browser and no proxies**. That makes it fast, reliable and cheap to run.

Built and maintained by **ONSQ Enterprises**.

### What can this Bluesky scraper do?

- 👤 **Profiles**: bio, display name, avatar, banner, follower and following counts, post count and join date.
- 📝 **Posts**: full post text with likes, reposts, replies, quotes, language and a direct link. Replies and reposts are optional.
- 👥 **Followers**: everyone who follows an account, with their profile details. Great for lead generation and audience research.
- ➡️ **Following**: every account a user follows, with profile details.
- 🔗 Accepts **handles, @handles, profile URLs or DIDs** in any mix: `bsky.app`, `@jay.bsky.team`, `https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app`, `did:plc:...`.
- 📦 Clean, flat JSON you can download as **JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML**, or pull through the Apify API.

### Who uses it?

- **Marketers and growth teams** finding and qualifying leads from a competitor's followers.
- **Researchers and journalists** archiving posts and studying conversations.
- **Brands and agencies** tracking engagement on their own and competitors' accounts.
- **Developers and AI agents** feeding Bluesky data into dashboards, databases and LLM pipelines.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Pick what to scrape: profiles, posts, followers or following.
3. Add one or more Bluesky handles or profile URLs.
4. Set **Max items per handle** for posts, followers and following.
5. Click **Start** and download your data when the run finishes.

You can also schedule runs, call the scraper through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2), or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets and other tools through Apify integrations.

### Input

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `mode` | What to scrape: `profiles`, `posts`, `followers` or `following`. |
| `handles` | Bluesky handles, profile URLs or DIDs. |
| `maxItems` | Maximum posts or accounts per handle, from 1 to 5,000. Ignored in profiles mode. |
| `includeReplies` | Posts mode only. Include the account's replies. |
| `includeReposts` | Posts mode only. Include posts the account reposted. |

```json
{
  "mode": "posts",
  "handles": ["bsky.app", "https://bsky.app/profile/jay.bsky.team"],
  "maxItems": 100,
  "includeReplies": false,
  "includeReposts": false
}
```

### Output

Each result is one dataset item. A post looks like this:

```json
{
  "type": "post",
  "uri": "at://did:plc:z72i7hdynmk6r22z27h6tvur/app.bsky.feed.post/3myi3k45jh22z",
  "cid": "bafyreighsgdcaesmuicuhgt2rr2ijbzz6kro7yesftzv3wk3p2jzaudiya",
  "text": "Also new in today's v1.136 update: iPad support!",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-22T16:30:02.437Z",
  "likeCount": 2023,
  "repostCount": 324,
  "replyCount": 169,
  "quoteCount": 139,
  "authorHandle": "bsky.app",
  "authorDisplayName": "Bluesky",
  "authorDid": "did:plc:z72i7hdynmk6r22z27h6tvur",
  "isReply": false,
  "langs": ["en"],
  "url": "https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/post/3myi3k45jh22z"
}
```

A profile looks like this:

```json
{
  "type": "profile",
  "did": "did:plc:z72i7hdynmk6r22z27h6tvur",
  "handle": "bsky.app",
  "displayName": "Bluesky",
  "description": "official Bluesky account (check username👆)",
  "avatar": "https://cdn.bsky.app/img/avatar/plain/did:plc:z72i7hdynmk6r22z27h6tvur/...",
  "banner": "https://cdn.bsky.app/img/banner/plain/did:plc:z72i7hdynmk6r22z27h6tvur/...",
  "followersCount": 35395709,
  "followsCount": 25,
  "postsCount": 896,
  "createdAt": "2023-04-12T04:53:57.057Z",
  "indexedAt": "2025-10-27T21:05:26.152Z",
  "url": "https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app"
}
```

Followers and following items have the same profile fields, without `banner` and `indexedAt`. Their `type` is `follower` or `follow`.

### How much does it cost?

You pay only for what you use: a small fee per run plus a fee per result. There are no proxy or browser costs, because the scraper talks directly to the Bluesky API. Current prices are shown on the **Pricing** tab. Apify's free plan includes monthly credits, so you can try it at no cost.

If a handle cannot be found, the run continues and adds one row with `"type": "error"` and the handle that failed, so you can see exactly what went wrong. Double-check your handles to avoid these rows.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Bluesky account or password?**
No. The scraper only reads public data through Bluesky's public API.

**Is it legal to scrape Bluesky?**
The scraper only collects data that Bluesky makes publicly available through its official API. Results can still contain personal data, which is protected by laws such as the GDPR. Only scrape personal data when you have a legitimate reason, and consult a lawyer if you are unsure.

**How many followers can I get?**
Up to 5,000 per handle per run. Run it again with other handles for more.

**Something is broken or missing.**
Open an issue on the **Issues** tab. Feature requests are welcome too.
