## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New Federal Contract & Grant Award Leads (USAspending.gov)

Get **newly awarded U.S. federal contracts, grants, and loans** as clean lead rows: who won, how much, from which agency, for what (NAICS/PSC and description), where the work happens, and the recipient's address and UEI. Data comes straight from the official **USAspending.gov** API (U.S. Treasury, DATA Act).

A fresh federal award means the recipient **has a funded project starting now**. They need subcontractors, suppliers, staff, equipment, insurance, bonding, and financing.

### Who uses this

- Subcontractors and suppliers looking for primes that just won work
- Staffing firms, equipment rental, bonding and insurance, and lenders
- GovCon BD teams tracking competitors' wins in their NAICS, by agency or state
- Grant consultants and researchers tracking new grants

### Features

- **New awards only** (USAspending "new awards" date type), not every modification.
- Filters: award category (contracts, IDVs, grants, loans, direct payments, other), keywords, place-of-performance state, recipient state, NAICS code or prefix, awarding agency, min/max amount, small business only.
- **Monitor mode** for a daily or weekly feed of only the awards you haven't seen.
- Clean, flat-friendly output with direct USAspending links. Biggest awards come first.
- Pay only for awards returned.

### Input examples

**Construction contracts over $250k performed in Texas in the last 14 days:**

```json
```

**Professional-services (NAICS 54) awards to small businesses this week:**

```
**Daily feed of new VA contracts:**
```

Grants and loans also include `assistanceListings` (CFDA/Assistance Listing numbers and titles).

### Notes

- Agencies report awards with a lag. Contracts usually appear within days; some assistance awards can take weeks.
- USAspending does not publish contact emails or phones. Use the UEI, name, and address to look the recipient up in SAM.gov or your CRM.

### Legal

Data is public U.S. government information from USAspending.gov. This actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Treasury or any agency.
