## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Quick reference

- **Returns:** for each Shopify store, one **store insights** row (theme, Shopify apps, marketing/analytics/payment tools, product and variant counts, min/median/max price, share on sale and in stock, products added in 7/30 days, top product types and vendors) and one row per **product** (price, compare-at price, discount %, availability, variants with SKU and stock status, images, tags, dates).
- **Input:** `stores` (required): store domains or URLs, custom domains or `*.myshopify.com`. Optional: `includeStoreSummary`, `includeProducts`, `includeVariants`, `includeDescription`, `maxProductsPerStore`, `onlyAvailable`, `onlyOnSale`, `createdWithinDays`.
- **Output fields:** `type` (`store`/`product`), `store`, `name`, `country`, `currency`, `productCount`, `priceMin`, `priceMedian`, `priceMax`, `onSaleShare`, `newProductsLast30Days`, `theme`, `shopifyApps`, `marketingTools`; product rows: `title`, `vendor`, `productType`, `price`, `compareAtPrice`, `discountPercent`, `available`, `variants[]`, `url`, `createdAt`.
- **Price:** $0.0005 per product, $0.01 per store insights row. Non-Shopify domains are free.
- **Limits:** reads the store's public catalog; stock is in/out, not exact quantities. Password-protected stores and closed catalogs return an error and are not charged. Apps that run only in checkout or admin can't be seen.

### What does Shopify Store Scraper do?

**Shopify Store Scraper** analyzes any Shopify store from its domain and gives you two things.

**🏪 Store insights**, one row per store:

- Store name, country, city, currency and the number of countries it ships to
- **Theme** name and version, **Shopify apps** detected (reviews, upsell, loyalty, subscriptions...), plus the email/SMS marketing, reviews, analytics and payment tools the store uses
- **Catalog stats**: number of products and variants, lowest, median and highest price, share of products **on sale**, share in stock
- **Launch activity**: products added in the last 7 and 30 days, the newest products, and when the last product was added
- Top product types and vendors

**🛍️ Products**, one row per product:

- Title, vendor, type, tags and URL
- **Price, compare-at price, discount %** and availability
- All images, created and published dates, description
- **Variants** with SKU, options (size/color), price, compare-at price and stock status

### Why use it?

- 🕵️ **Competitor & product research**: track competitors' catalogs, prices, discounts and new launches. Schedule daily runs to catch price changes and sales.
- 📈 **Dropshipping & e-commerce**: find trending products, see what successful stores sell and at what price points.
- 🎯 **Lead generation for Shopify agencies & app developers**: qualify stores by size, theme, apps and marketing stack, e.g. "stores on Dawn without a reviews app" or "stores with 1,000+ products using Klaviyo".
- 📊 **Market research & pricing analytics**: compare price distributions and discounting across a niche.
- 🤖 **AI & catalogs**: export clean product data for feeds, comparison sites or RAG.

### How much does it cost?

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Product scraped | **$0.0005** |
| Store analyzed (insights row) | **$0.01** |

**1,000 products cost $0.50.** Domains that aren't Shopify stores are free.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Add store domains, e.g. `allbirds.com`, `gymshark.com` or `mystore.myshopify.com`.
3. Choose **Store insights** and/or **Products**. Optionally filter for in-stock, discounted or recently added products.
4. Click **Start** and use the **Store insights** and **Products** tables, or export to Excel, CSV or JSON.

### FAQ

**Does it work with any Shopify store?** It works with any store whose public product catalog is enabled, which is almost all of them, including custom domains. Password-protected stores and stores that disabled their public catalog return an error and aren't charged.

**Why does the store summary read the whole catalog?** Catalog stats like product count, price distribution, sale share and new launches need every product. The row limit only affects how many product rows you receive.

**How are apps detected?** From the store's public homepage code, using a database of 7,600+ technology fingerprints including hundreds of Shopify apps. Apps that only run in checkout or the admin can't be seen from the storefront.

**Is inventory quantity included?** Shopify's public data shows whether each variant is in stock, not the exact quantity.

# Actor input Schema

## `stores` (type: `array`):

Store domains or URLs, e.g. allbirds.com or https://www.gymshark.com. Custom domains and \*.myshopify.com both work.

## `includeStoreSummary` (type: `boolean`):

One row per store: theme, Shopify apps, marketing & analytics tools, product count, price range, share on sale, new products in the last 7/30 days, top product types and vendors.

## `includeProducts` (type: `boolean`):

One row per product with prices, compare-at prices, discount %, availability, images, tags and dates.

## `includeVariants` (type: `boolean`):

Nested list of variants (size, color...) with SKU, price and availability.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the plain-text product description to each product row.

## `maxProductsPerStore` (type: `integer`):

Maximum product rows per store (1-100000, default 1000). Store insights always use the full catalog.

## `onlyAvailable` (type: `boolean`):

Skip products where no variant is available.

## `onlyOnSale` (type: `boolean`):

Only products with a compare-at price higher than the price.

## `createdWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit. Great for tracking new launches.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Stores processed in parallel (1-20, default 5).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Shopify rate-limits repeated requests from one IP; rotating proxies keep large runs reliable.
