## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## EcomPilot — Ecommerce Conversion Opportunity Finder

EcomPilot is an essential B2B intelligence tool designed for ecommerce agencies, CRO consultants, and sales teams. It crawls ecommerce websites, detects the underlying platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.), and analyzes the site for missing conversion assets, trust signals, merchandising opportunities, and customer experience gaps.

### How It Works

1. **Target Intake**: Provide one or more ecommerce website URLs.
2. **Platform Detection**: EcomPilot analyzes the HTML footprint to identify platforms like Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce.
3. **Signal Extraction**: It crawls the site (up to a configured page depth) to detect:
   - **Conversion**: Add-to-cart functionality, checkout visibility, active promotions.
   - **Trust**: Customer reviews, trust badges, privacy policies, refunds.
   - **Merchandising**: Related products, cross-sells, inventory urgency.
   - **Customer Experience**: Live chat, search functionality, FAQs.
   - **Lead Capture**: Newsletter signups, exit-intent overlays.
4. **Scoring & Pitch Generation**: It assigns a `revenueOpportunityScore` (0-100) indicating how badly the site needs CRO services, and outputs a ready-to-use sales pitch.

### Input Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| `startUrls` | Array | `[]` | List of ecommerce website URLs to analyze. |
| `maxPagesPerWebsite` | Integer | `10` | Maximum pages to audit per site. |
| `crawlDepth` | Integer | `2` | Link depth. |
| `maxConcurrency` | Integer | `5` | Parallel execution capacity. |
| `timeoutSeconds` | Integer | `60` | Time budget per site. |

### Output Fields

The resulting dataset includes:

- `detectedPlatform` (e.g., "Shopify")
- `conversionScore`, `trustScore`, `merchandisingScore`, `cxScore`, `automationScore`
- `ecommerceReadinessScore` (Average of all metrics)
- `revenueOpportunityScore` (Higher score = stronger sales opportunity)
- `missingItems` (Array of actionable gaps)
- `quickWins` (Prioritized recommendations)
- `recommendedPitch` (Sales outreach script)

### Example Output

```json
{
  "inputUrl": "https://example-store.com",
  "detectedPlatform": "Shopify",
  "ecommerceStatus": "Ecommerce Detected",
  "revenueOpportunityScore": 72,
  "missingItems": [
    "No product reviews or customer testimonials detected",
    "No live chat or support widget detected"
  ],
  "quickWins": [
    "Integrate a review app (like Loox, Yotpo, or Judge.me) to build social proof on product pages.",
    "Install a live chat or AI assistant widget to handle pre-sale objections."
  ],
  "recommendedPitch": "Lead with a Revenue Optimization audit: The store runs on Shopify, but lacks critical conversion and trust features. Fixing these gaps will instantly boost ROAS."
}
```

### Legal & Compliance

This actor accesses publicly available website data using standard HTTP requests. Users must comply with the Terms of Service of target sites, and ensure data usage aligns with local regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
