## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Lead Finder

**Most Maps scrapers dump raw rows. We visit every business, pull its real email, verify it, and score the lead — so your list is ready to send, not ready to bounce.**

Verified, scored sales leads from Google Maps — website, deliverability-checked email, phone, socials, site platform, and a lead score — in one run. Built for agencies, local-service SaaS, and outbound teams who are done with stale lists and high bounce rates.

### Why it's better (and costs about the same)

- **Verified emails, not guesses.** We MX-check every email and ship it with an `emailStatus`, so you know what's deliverable *before* you send. Bounce rate is the #1 complaint with Maps scrapers — we fix it.
- **Each business checked individually.** We visit every listing and pull contact data from its own website — not a fast, dirty bulk dump. Better data, near-bulk-scrape prices.
- **Every lead scored.** 0–100 `hot` / `warm` / `cold` from verified email, website, socials, review activity, and rating. Ready to prioritize, not raw.
- **Vertical-ready.** One-click presets for med spa, roofing, HVAC, dentist, lawyer, realtor, restaurant.
- **Clean, CRM-ready output** — one row per business, ready for your cold-email tool.

### What it does

1. **Discovers** businesses on Google Maps by query + location (e.g. "med spa" in "Austin, TX").
2. **Visits each business** and reads its website, phone, full address, rating, and reviews.
3. **Enriches** — pulls emails + social links and detects the site platform (Shopify / WordPress / Wix / etc.) and whether it's ecommerce or SaaS.
4. **Verifies** every email (syntax + MX) — clean list vs. bounce nightmare.
5. **Scores** every lead so you know who to contact first.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `verticalPreset` | Auto-fills queries + tags rows by vertical |
| `queries` | Your own search terms (e.g. `["med spa"]`) |
| `locations` | Where to search (e.g. `["Austin, TX"]`) |
| `maxPlaces` / `maxPlacesPerSearch` | Result caps |
| `enrichWebsites` | Crawl sites for email/socials/platform |
| `verifyEmails` | MX-verify emails for deliverability |
| `proxy` | Datacenter is fine; residential optional |

### Output (one item per business)

`name, placeId, cid, googleMapsUrl, category, vertical, address (+ street/city/state/postalCode/country), lat, lng, phone, website, emails, emailPrimary, emailStatus, socialLinks, platform, isEcom, isSaaS, rating, reviewsCount, priceLevel, hours, leadScore, leadTier, scrapedAt, missingFields`

### Compliance

This actor collects **only publicly available business information** displayed on Google Maps and public business websites. It does not log in, bypass authentication, or collect personal/private data. Use it in accordance with applicable laws and the terms of the sites you target. You are responsible for how you use the data (e.g. honoring anti-spam and privacy regulations such as CAN-SPAM / GDPR for outreach).

# Actor input Schema

## `verticalPreset` (type: `string`):

Optional. Pick a business vertical to auto-fill the search queries and tag the output. Leave as (none) to use your own queries.

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Search terms to look up on Google Maps, e.g. "med spa". Ignored if a vertical preset is chosen and you leave this empty.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Locations to search in, e.g. "Austin, TX". Each query is run for each location. Defaults to United States if empty.

## `maxPlaces` (type: `integer`):

Total businesses to collect across all queries/locations before stopping. A full run (~1000) with website enrichment + email verification takes roughly 60-90 min. For larger volumes, run this Actor several times split by region and merge the results.

## `maxPlacesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Maximum businesses to pull from a single query+location result feed (Google shows ~120 per area).

## `enrichWebsites` (type: `boolean`):

Crawl each business website to extract emails, social links, and detect the site platform (Shopify/WordPress/etc).

## `verifyEmails` (type: `boolean`):

Verify extracted emails via syntax + MX DNS lookup so you get a deliverability status (reduces bounce).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Google Maps interface language code (hl), e.g. en.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Google geo/region code (gl), e.g. us.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many browser pages to run in parallel. Browser scraping is CPU-bound and Apify scales CPU with memory, so concurrency 4 needs ~4 GB to run at full speed (at 2 GB it auto-throttles to ~2 — still works, just slower). 2 = lean/2 GB, 4 = fast/4 GB.

## `proxy` (type: `object`):

Proxy configuration. Datacenter is fine for Google Maps; switch to residential only if you get blocked at scale.

## `debugMode` (type: `boolean`):

Verbose logging for troubleshooting.
