## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ATS Jobs Scraper: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby & more

Get every open job from company career pages in **one clean format**, no matter which applicant tracking system (ATS) the company uses. Paste company names or careers page URLs, and the Actor finds the job board, reads it through the ATS's public job board API, and returns jobs with title, department, location, remote flag, salary, posting date and full description.

**Supported systems:** Greenhouse · Lever · Ashby · Workable · Recruitee · SmartRecruiters · Breezy HR · Personio

*This Actor is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these companies; their names are used only to describe which job boards it can read.*

### What can you use it for?

- **Job boards and aggregators**: fill a niche job board (remote jobs, AI jobs, climate jobs, a city or a country) straight from the source companies.
- **Job alerts and monitoring**: run it on a schedule with **Only new jobs** turned on to get just the jobs that appeared since the last run.
- **Sales and market signals**: see which companies are hiring for which teams, and how fast. A company opening 20 data roles is a good lead for a data tool.
- **Recruiting and research**: compare salaries, locations and remote policies across competitors.
- **AI agents and LLM apps**: give an agent fresh, structured job data with plain-text descriptions that are ready for embeddings.

### Why this Actor?

- **8 ATSs, one schema.** Most job scrapers cover one or three systems. Here every job has the same fields, so you can mix companies freely.
- **Finds the board for you.** Type `Notion` or paste `https://www.notion.com/careers`, and the Actor detects that Notion uses Ashby. You can also paste the job board URL directly.
- **Only new jobs.** The Actor remembers what it returned before, so scheduled runs give you a clean feed of new postings.
- **Public APIs, no browser, no proxy.** It reads the same public job board endpoints that companies use to show jobs on their own websites. Runs are fast (three large companies, 700+ jobs, in about 30 seconds) and stable.
- **Privacy-friendly.** The output has no recruiter or hiring manager fields. E-mail addresses and phone numbers written inside descriptions are hidden by default. Descriptions are the company's own text, so they can still mention people or links.

}
```
Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the Apify API.
| Field | What it holds |
| --- | --- |
| `companyName` | Company name from the job board. Lever and Ashby do not send one, so the name you typed (or the board name) is used. |
| `title`, `department`, `team` | Job title and where it sits in the company |
| `location`, `allLocations`, `country` | Main location, every location listed, and the country when the ATS provides it |
| `workplaceType`, `isRemote` | `remote`, `hybrid` or `onsite`, and whether the job can be done remotely |
| `employmentType` | Full-time, part-time, contract, ... as written by the ATS |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod`, `salaryText` | Salary when the company publishes it (Ashby, Lever, Recruitee as numbers, Breezy HR as text) |
| `postedAt`, `updatedAt` | Dates in ISO 8601 |
| `jobUrl`, `applyUrl` | Public job page and application page |
| `descriptionText` | Full description as plain text (not available for Breezy HR) |
| `ats`, `companySlug`, `jobId` | Where the job came from. `ats` + `companySlug` + `jobId` is a stable unique key. |
After each run, the **Run summary** (`RUN_SUMMARY` in the key-value store) lists, for every company you entered, which job board was used, how many jobs were found and saved, and why a company was skipped.
### How to use it
1. Enter companies in **Companies**, one per line. Each line can be:
   - a job board URL: `https://jobs.lever.co/palantir`, `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/gitlab`, `https://apply.workable.com/huggingface/`
   - a careers page URL that links to or embeds a job board: `https://www.notion.com/careers`
   - a company name: `Ramp`, `Hugging Face`
   - `ats:slug` when you know the board: `greenhouse:gitlab`, `personio:1komma5grad`
2. Optionally filter by **Keywords**, **Exclude keywords**, **Locations**, **Remote jobs only** and **Posted within (days)**.
   - **Keywords** match the start of a word: `engineer` finds "Engineering Manager".
   - **Exclude keywords** and **Locations** match whole words: `intern` drops "Marketing Intern" but keeps "International Sales", and `US` matches "Remote (US)" but not "Australia".
3. Set **Max jobs per company** to 0 to get all open jobs (the form starts at 20 so that a first test run is quick).
4. Click **Start**. To monitor companies, turn on **Only new jobs since the last run** and create a schedule in Apify Console. Set **Max jobs per company** to 0 for monitoring: the first run remembers only the jobs it returned, so with a limit the remaining jobs show up as "new" in later runs.
#### Input example
```json
{
    "companies": ["https://jobs.lever.co/palantir", "Notion", "greenhouse:gitlab"],
    "keywords": ["engineer", "data"],
    "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
    "remoteOnly": true,
    "postedWithinDays": 14,
    "onlyNewJobs": true,
    "stateKey": "my-watchlist",
    "maxJobsPerCompany": 0
}
```
### Pricing
You pay per job saved to the dataset. Jobs removed by your filters, jobs already returned in an earlier run when **Only new jobs** is on, and the same job reached twice in one run (for example from a company name and its careers page) are not charged. Set **Max jobs in total** or a maximum cost per run to stay within budget; the run stops reading more companies as soon as either limit is reached.
### Tips and limits
- **Company names**: the Actor tries the name on all 8 systems. If the same name exists on more than one system, it picks the board with the most jobs and says so in the log and the run summary. Paste the job board URL to choose another one.
- **Careers pages that load jobs with JavaScript** or use a system that is not supported (for example Workday, iCIMS or Taleo) cannot be detected. The run summary says so; paste the job board URL instead if there is one.
- **SmartRecruiters** sends descriptions one job at a time, so large SmartRecruiters companies with descriptions take longer. Turn off **Include job description** for speed.
- **Breezy HR** does not publish descriptions in its public feed.
- **Personio** descriptions are returned in the language the company wrote them in.
- **Only new jobs** remembers up to 100,000 jobs per state key. Use a separate state key for each list you monitor, and do not run two runs with the same state key at the same time.
- **Careers page URLs** must be public websites. Name detection tries the main hosts of each system (not Lever EU or Personio .com); paste the job board URL for those.
### Is it legal to collect this data?
The Actor reads public job board endpoints that the ATSs provide so that companies can publish their open positions. It does not log in, does not bypass any protection, and does not collect recruiter or candidate fields. You are still responsible for how you use and republish the data. Check the terms of the websites you republish jobs from and the data protection rules that apply to you.
### Feedback
Found a company that does not work, or need another ATS? Open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the company's careers page URL. Issues are usually answered within 1–2 days.
# Actor input Schema
## `companies` (type: `array`):
One company per line. Use a job board URL (e.g. https://jobs.lever.co/palantir), a careers page URL that links to a job board, a company name (the Actor finds the board for you), or "ats:slug" such as "greenhouse:gitlab". Supported: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters, Breezy HR, Personio.
## `keywords` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose title, department or team has a word starting with one of these terms (not case-sensitive): "engineer" finds "Engineering Manager". Leave empty to keep all jobs.
## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):
Drop jobs whose title contains any of these whole words, e.g. "intern" or "senior" ("intern" does not drop "International").
## `locations` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose location or country contains one of these whole words, e.g. "London", "Germany", "US" ("US" does not match "Australia").
## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only jobs marked as remote by the job board or with "remote" in the location.
## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):
Keep only jobs published in the last N days. 0 keeps all jobs. Jobs without a publish date are dropped when this is set.
## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):
Return only jobs that earlier runs with the same state key have not returned yet. The first run returns everything it saves and remembers it. Use this with a schedule to monitor companies, and set Max jobs per company to 0.
## `stateKey` (type: `string`):
Name of the memory used by "Only new jobs". Use a different key for each list of companies you monitor. Letters, numbers, ".", "\_" and "-" only.
## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):
Add the full job description as plain text. Turn off for faster, smaller results.
## `redactContacts` (type: `boolean`):
Replace e-mail addresses and phone numbers that appear inside job descriptions with \[email removed] and \[phone removed].
## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):
Stop after this many jobs for each company. Set 0 for no limit (all open jobs).
## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):
Stop after this many jobs for the whole run. 0 means no limit.
