## Pricing

from $3.00 / 1,000 website scanneds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Tech Stack Detector: What Is Any Website Built With?

Find out **which technologies any website uses**, in bulk and at a fraction of the usual price. Detects **3,600+ technologies**: CMS, ecommerce platforms, analytics, tag managers, marketing automation, CRM, payments, live chat, A/B testing, CDN, hosting, frameworks and more, with versions where visible.

It also reads public **DNS records** to show what most tech lookups miss: the company's **email provider** (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365...), **email sending tools** (HubSpot, Mailchimp, SendGrid, Salesforce...) and **business tools verified on the domain** (Atlassian, Stripe, Zoom, Slack, OpenAI and more).

Ideal for **sales prospecting** (find every Shopify store or HubSpot customer in a list), **lead scoring**, **competitor research**, **market sizing** and **AI agents**.

### Why this tool?

- 💸 **Low price, pay per website.** Failed and blocked websites cost only a tiny flat fee (a tenth of a cent).
- ⚡ **Fast.** No browser needed, so large lists finish in minutes.
- 📬 **DNS signals included.** Email provider and verified business tools, not just what's on the page.
- 🧹 **Easy input.** Domains, URLs or email addresses; duplicates removed.
- 🤖 **Works with AI agents** through the Apify MCP server, and with Make, n8n and Zapier.

### Input example

```json
{ "domains": ["shopify.com", "notion.so", "bbc.co.uk"], "includeDnsSignals": true }
```

### Output example (shortened)

```json
{
  "domain": "acme.com",
  "technologyCount": 3,
  "technologies": [
    { "name": "WordPress", "version": "6.4.2", "categories": ["CMS", "Blogs"], "confidence": 100, "website": "https://wordpress.org" },
    { "name": "Google Analytics", "version": null, "categories": ["Analytics"], "confidence": 100, "website": "http://google.com/analytics" },
    { "name": "Stripe", "version": null, "categories": ["Payment processors"], "confidence": 100, "website": "http://stripe.com" }
  ],
  "technologiesByCategory": { "CMS": ["WordPress"], "Analytics": ["Google Analytics"], "Payment processors": ["Stripe"] },
  "emailProvider": "Google Workspace",
  "emailSendingServices": ["HubSpot"],
  "verifiedServices": ["Atlassian", "Google Search Console"]
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per website scanned. See the **Pricing** tab for your plan's rate. Websites that fail or block us cost a flat $0.001 each, because they still use server time. Set **Maximum cost per run** to cap your spend.

| Event | When it is charged | Price per 1,000 (Free / Bronze / Silver / Gold plan) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Website scanned | Each website scanned and returned. | $5 / $4 / $3.50 / $3 |
| Website failed | A website that could not be reached or blocked us (it still uses server time). | $1.50 on every plan |

Need more speed? Give the run more memory: it scans 4 websites at once per GB. Residential proxies are not supported.

### Notes

Detection uses the page's HTML, headers, scripts, cookies, robots.txt, TLS certificate and DNS records, without a browser. Technologies that only load after JavaScript runs may be missed. Fingerprints are based on the MIT-licensed Wappalyzer 6.10.54 release, extended with our own.

### Feedback

Missing a technology? Open an issue on the **Issues** tab with the domain and the technology, and we'll add it.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Company domains (acme.com), URLs, or even email addresses (the domain is used). One per line; duplicates are removed.

## `includeDnsSignals` (type: `boolean`):

Also read public DNS records to find the email provider, email sending tools and business tools the company has verified (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, HubSpot, Atlassian, Stripe and more).

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Give up on a website after this long.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Retry a website once if it fails quickly (for example blocked, then retried through a new proxy IP). Slow failures are not retried.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Use Apify datacenter proxies or your own proxies for websites that block automated requests.

## Actor input object example

{
  "domains": [
    "apify.com",
    "stripe.com",
    "bbc.co.uk"
  ],
  "includeDnsSignals": true,
  "timeoutSecs": 30,
  "maxRetries": 1
}

Clients without OAuth support can send an `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_API_TOKEN>` header instead, using a token from API & Integrations in Apify Console (https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations).
