## Pricing

Pay per event

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Clinical Trial Leads: Sponsors, Sites & Contacts from ClinicalTrials.gov

**Find clinical trials and the people running them, straight from the official ClinicalTrials.gov API.** Search by **condition, drug or intervention, sponsor, phase, recruitment status, sponsor type and site location**, and get one clean row per trial with the **sponsor and collaborators, phase, enrollment, start and completion dates, central contact (name, phone, email), principal investigators and every study site** with its own contact. Results come as **Excel (Trials + Sites sheets) and CSV**. **$0.002 per trial.**

**No scraping, no proxies, no login: the data comes from the ClinicalTrials.gov public API v2 run by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.**

- 🔎 **Search like a pro:** condition, drug/intervention, sponsor, free text, phases, status, industry vs academic sponsor, interventional vs observational
- 📍 **Location filters that work on sites:** keep trials with sites in your countries, states or city, and see the matching sites only
- 📞 **Contacts as published:** central contact plus each site's contact and investigator
- 🏥 **Sites sheet:** one row per site (facility, city, state, status, contact) ready for site-network outreach
- 🔁 **Recently updated:** "updated in the last N days" for weekly monitoring schedules
- 💸 **$0.002 per trial**, sites included; searches with no results are free

### Who it's for

- **CROs, site networks and SMOs:** find sponsors running trials in your therapeutic area and region
- **Patient recruitment and pharma marketing agencies:** spot recruiting trials that need enrollment help
- **Medtech, lab, eClinical and logistics vendors:** build sponsor and site prospect lists by phase and indication
- **Investors and competitive intelligence:** track a competitor's pipeline, phases and new trials
- **Patients, advocates and researchers:** list recruiting trials near a city

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Type a **condition** (and optionally a drug, sponsor or keywords), pick **phases** and **status**.
3. Add **site countries / states / city** to keep only trials recruiting where you work.
4. Click **Start**. Download **TRIALS_XLSX** (Trials + Sites sheets) or **TRIALS_CSV** from **Storage → Key-value store**, or use the dataset via API.

The Sites sheet in Excel has one row per matching site: facility, status, city, state, ZIP, country, site contact, phone, email and investigator.

### Pricing

**$0.002 per trial returned** (pay per event, plus Apify's tiny start fee). 100 recruiting trials with all their sites cost $0.20; 1,000 cost $2. Runs that match nothing cost nothing, and failed source calls are never charged. Set **Maximum results** or Apify's *maximum charge per run* to cap any run. Apify's free plan includes $5 of monthly credit.

### Use it from AI agents and code

- **MCP:** add this Actor to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (`https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=pandadad0214/clinical-trial-leads`), then ask in plain English.
- **API:** `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/pandadad0214~clinical-trial-leads/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN` with the input JSON.
- Every row has an **`agentSummary`** line, and the **SUMMARY** record has a one-line **`takeaway`** plus `nextSteps`, so agents can answer without parsing every field.
- Schedule it (daily or weekly) in Apify and connect Zapier, Make, Slack, Google Sheets or a webhook to the dataset.

### FAQ

**Is this allowed?** Yes. ClinicalTrials.gov offers its API for public reuse. Contacts are the ones sponsors publish for recruitment; use them for trial-related purposes and follow anti-spam laws.

**Why fewer trials than the website shows?** Location filters keep only trials with a site in your area, and the default status is recruiting + not yet recruiting. Add statuses or remove location to widen.

**Can I get trials updated since my last run?** Yes: set *Updated in the last N days* to your schedule interval.
