## Pricing

Pay per event

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC Financials to Excel: EDGAR XBRL Comps & Model Data

> **SEC EDGAR financials API** on Apify: standardized annual income statement, balance sheet and cash-flow lines for any list of US-listed companies, straight from SEC XBRL filings, in a comps-ready Excel workbook. **$0.002 per company-year.** A 10-company, 5-year comps set costs $0.10. Apify's free plan includes $5 of monthly credit.

**Stop copy-pasting 10-Ks.** Give it tickers, get one clean row per company per fiscal year with revenue, gross profit, R\&D, SG\&A, operating income, D\&A, EBITDA, net income, diluted EPS and shares, operating cash flow, capex, free cash flow, cash, debt, net debt, equity, margins and growth. Every number keeps the **us-gaap tag, accession number and filing date** it came from.

- 📊 **Comps sheet**: latest fiscal year per company plus a yellow share-price column that fills **market cap, EV, EV/Revenue, EV/EBITDA, P/E and FCF yield** with live Excel formulas, and median/average rows
- 📈 **Model sheets**: one sheet per company, metrics down, fiscal years across (oldest to newest), ready to link into a DCF
- 🔍 **Traceable**: a Sources sheet lists the exact tag used for every number and every computed line (EBITDA, FCF, net debt)
- ♻️ **Restatements win**: each fiscal year uses the latest filed value for that period
- 🚫 **Nothing guessed**: if a company doesn't report a line under a standard tag, the cell stays empty and `metricsFound` tells you how complete the row is
- 💸 **$0.002 per company-year row.** Tickers that aren't found cost nothing

### Who it's for

- **Analysts, students and investors** building trading comps or a quick DCF
- **Corp-dev, consultants and bankers** screening peers for a pitch
- **AI agents** that need clean, cited fundamentals instead of scraped finance sites

### How to use

1. Enter **tickers or CIKs** (e.g. `AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL`).
2. Enter **your contact email**. SEC requires every automated request to declare one; it's sent to SEC only and never stored in the output.
3. Choose **fiscal years per company** (default 5) and click **Start**.
4. Download **FINANCIALS_XLSX** (Comps, model sheets, All rows, Sources, Read me) or **FINANCIALS_CSV**.

#### Input example

```json
{ "companies": ["AAPL", "MSFT", "GOOGL"], "contactEmail": "you@yourcompany.com", "years": 5 }
```

#### Output example (one row, trimmed, USD)

```json
{ "company": "Apple Inc.", "ticker": "AAPL", "fiscalYear": 2025, "periodEnd": "2025-09-27", "form": "10-K",
  "revenue": 416161000000, "revenueGrowth": 0.0643, "netIncome": 112010000000, "epsDiluted": 7.46,
  "ebitda": 144748000000, "freeCashFlow": 98767000000, "netDebt": 43960000000, "metricsFound": 28, "metricsTotal": 29 }
```

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Call it through Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`, Actor `pandadad0214/sec-financials-excel`). Each row has an `agentSummary` line; the `SUMMARY` record has a one-line `takeaway`.

Task examples:

- "Build a comps table for NVDA, AMD, INTC and QCOM with the last 3 fiscal years."
- "Pull 10 years of revenue, EBITDA and FCF for Costco into Excel for a DCF."
- "Which of these 20 retailers grew revenue fastest last fiscal year?"

### Pricing

**$0.002 per company-year row** (paid Apify plans get 10-30% off). Set a maximum charge per run to cap spend.

### Limits

- Annual 10-K data, us-gaap taxonomy. Foreign filers on 20-F/40-F (IFRS) and quarterly/LTM figures aren't in this version.
- Share prices aren't in SEC data; type them into the Comps sheet.
- Banks, insurers and holding companies (e.g. Berkshire) tag differently, so fewer lines are filled.
- Public SEC data. **Not investment advice.** Not affiliated with or endorsed by the SEC.

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** SEC EDGAR XBRL company facts (public data published by the SEC). Every number keeps its us-gaap tag, accession number and filing date.

**Why does it ask for my email?** SEC requires automated requests to declare a contact. Your email is sent to SEC only and never stored in the output.

**Does it include quarterly numbers or share prices?** Not in this version: annual 10-K data only, and you type share prices into the Comps sheet to fill the valuation formulas.

**What does a run cost?** You pay per company-year row returned. Tickers that aren't found cost nothing, and a maximum charge per run caps spend.

**Can an AI agent use it?** Yes, through Apify's MCP server. Each row has an `agentSummary` line and the `SUMMARY` record has a one-line `takeaway`.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

US-listed companies that file 10-Ks with the SEC, e.g. AAPL, MSFT, BRK-B or a CIK like 320193. Up to 200 per run.

## `contactEmail` (type: `string`):

SEC requires every automated request to declare a contact in its User-Agent header. It is sent to SEC only and is never stored in the output.

## `years` (type: `integer`):

Most recent annual (10-K) periods to return. You pay per company-year row, so this also caps the cost.
