## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Pangolinfo AI Overview & Keyword Trends

Collect structured Google AI Overview, AI Mode, citation source, and Keyword Trends data with the official Pangolinfo API. This Actor is built for AEO monitoring, AI-search visibility research, keyword demand validation, content research, and competitor intelligence.

### Supported operations

- **Google AI Overview:** run a localized Google query and return organic results, AI-generated summaries, and cited sources when present.
- **Google AI Mode:** submit one to five sequential prompts for conversational market or product research.
- **Keyword Trends:** compare up to five keywords across a selected country and time range, including timeline, geographic, and related-query signals.

### Quick start

1. Create or copy an API key from the [Pangolinfo Console](https://tool.pangolinfo.com/).
2. Select an operation and enter only the fields relevant to that operation.
3. Start the Actor and read the default Dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, or through the Apify API.

The API key is an encrypted Apify secret. It is sent only in the HTTPS `Authorization` header to `scrapeapi.pangolinfo.com` and is never written to logs, Dataset results, or source code.

### Product and documentation

- [AI Overview SERP API](https://www.pangolinfo.com/ai-overview-serp-api/) — product overview, use cases, and access.
- [AI Overview API documentation](https://docs.pangolinfo.com/en-api-reference/aiModeSerpApi/aiModeSerpAPI) — single-query AI Overview and citations.
- [AI Mode API documentation](https://docs.pangolinfo.com/en-api-reference/aiModeSerpApi/aiModeAPI) — multi-turn generative search.
- [Keyword Trends API documentation](https://docs.pangolinfo.com/en-api-reference/trendsApi/keywordTrendsAPI) — keyword comparison fields and response data.
- [AI SERP Skill](https://www.pangolinfo.com/ai-serp-skill/) — agent-friendly search intelligence workflows.
- [Amazon Data MCP](https://www.pangolinfo.com/amazon-data-mcp/) — MCP-native access for AI agents.

### Practical workflows

#### AI Overview brand and citation monitoring

Run the same commercial query on a schedule, then store each Dataset result in a database or spreadsheet. Compare cited domains, brand mentions, answer structure, and result URLs over time. Apify can forward results to n8n, Make, Zapier, webhooks, Google Drive, or your data warehouse.

#### Multi-turn product research

Use AI Mode with a first prompt that defines the market and one or two follow-ups that request comparisons, buying criteria, or source evidence. Keeping the sequence under five turns controls latency and makes the output easier to audit.

#### Demand validation before launch

Compare a product concept, its common synonym, and a competing category in Keyword Trends. Use regional distribution, historical direction, and breakout related queries as supporting evidence rather than treating a single normalized score as absolute search volume.

### Output

Every run stores one structured envelope containing the operation, localization, query or prompts, task metadata, complete Pangolinfo response, and official product/documentation links. Screenshot URLs are returned only when screenshot capture is enabled and supported by the operation.

### Responsible use

- Keep AI Mode prompts and Trends keyword lists bounded to five items.
- AI-generated summaries and cited sources can change by location and time; validate critical conclusions against the underlying sources.
- Google Trends values are normalized indicators, not absolute search-volume estimates.
- Do not use this Actor to collect personal data or violate applicable platform terms, laws, or Pangolinfo policies.
