## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEO Meta Tags & On-Page Audit (Bulk Checker)

**Audit the on-page SEO of hundreds of URLs at once.** For every page you get the meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data and redirects, plus an **SEO score out of 100** and a **plain-English list of what to fix**. Results come as one clean row per URL, ready for Excel, Google Sheets or your dashboard.

What it checks:

- **Title tag** and **meta description**: text and length (flags missing, too short or likely cut off in Google).
- **Indexability**: status code, **canonical URL**, meta robots and X-Robots-Tag (catches accidental `noindex`).
- **Headings**: every H1 and H2 (flags missing or multiple H1s).
- **Social previews**: **Open Graph** and **Twitter card** tags (title, description, image).
- **Structured data**: schema.org types found in JSON-LD and microdata (Organization, Product, Article, FAQPage...).
- **Images**: count, and images missing **alt text** with examples.
- **Links**: internal, external and nofollow counts.
- **Technical**: redirect chain, HTTPS, response time, page size, mobile viewport, `lang`, hreflang, favicon, word count (thin content).

### Who is it for?

- **SEO agencies and freelancers**: run a quick on-page audit for a prospect or client in minutes, then export it to a report.
- **Content and marketing teams**: check titles, descriptions and social previews before and after publishing.
- **Developers and QA**: catch `noindex`, broken canonicals and missing tags after every deployment. Schedule it.
- **Site migrations**: compare old and new pages and verify redirects.

### How to use it

1. Paste the **URLs** you want to audit, one per line. Tip: use a sitemap extractor first to get every URL of a website.
2. Click **Start**.
3. Sort by **seoScore** to find the weakest pages, and read the **issues** column for exact fixes.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["https://apify.com", "https://example.com", "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization"]
}
```

### Output example (shortened)

```json
{
  "url": "https://example.com",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "title": "Example Domain",
  "titleLength": 14,
  "metaDescription": null,
  "canonical": null,
  "isIndexable": true,
  "h1Count": 0,
  "wordCount": 25,
  "openGraph": {},
  "schemaTypes": [],
  "imagesMissingAlt": 0,
  "internalLinks": 0,
  "externalLinks": 0,
  "responseTimeMs": 127,
  "seoScore": 59,
  "issues": [
    "Title is short (14 chars; aim for 30-60)",
    "Missing meta description",
    "No H1 heading",
    "No canonical URL",
    "Missing Open Graph title/image (poor link previews on social media)",
    "Thin content (25 words)",
    "No structured data (schema.org) found"
  ]
}
```

A well-optimized page like `https://apify.com` scores 100 with an empty issues list.

### How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee **per page audited** plus a tiny per-run start fee, with no subscription and no separate platform usage costs. For example, 1,000 pages cost about $1. Pages that can't be reached, non-HTML files (PDFs, images) and pages that block automated access are **not charged**. Pages returning 404 or 500 are audited and reported, since finding them is part of the audit. Set **Maximum cost per run** to cap your spending.

### Limits

- It reads the HTML the server sends, without running JavaScript. Tags added only by JavaScript in the browser (common in some single-page apps) may show as missing.
- The SEO score is a quick health indicator based on common best practices, not a Google ranking prediction.

### Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.

### FAQ

**Is the score the same as Lighthouse?** No. Lighthouse focuses on performance in a browser. This tool focuses on on-page SEO tags and content, and checks hundreds of pages much faster and cheaper.

**Found a bug or want another check?** Open an issue. We usually reply within 24 hours.
