## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Contracts Finder Scraper: Public Tenders & Awards

Search UK government tenders and contract awards from **Contracts Finder**, the UK government's official public contracts register. Filter by keyword, status (open, closed, awarded, withdrawn), notice type, region, contract value, publish date and SME suitability. Each row gives the buyer, title, description, value range, deadline, contract dates, CPV codes, region, awarded supplier and a link to the notice. Official public API, no login.

### Who is it for?

- **Suppliers and SMEs** looking for UK public sector work to bid on.
- **Bid writers and procurement consultants** building daily lead lists for clients.
- **Market analysts** studying who buys what and who wins.
- **Competitor trackers** watching awards to rival suppliers.

### How to use it

1. Type a **keyword** (e.g. `software`, `cleaning`, `construction`), or leave it empty for everything.
2. Choose **statuses** (Open by default) and, optionally, notice types and **regions** like London or Scotland.
3. Set **Published within (days)**, value limits and **Max results**.
4. Click **Start**, or schedule it daily to get new tenders every morning.

### Input example

```json
{"keyword": "software", "statuses": ["Open"], "regions": ["London"], "publishedWithinDays": 30}
```

### Output example

```json
{"title": "Contract Management Software", "buyer": "Ministry of Justice", "status": "Awarded", "noticeType": "Contract", "valueHigh": 134532, "publishedDate": "2026-10-23", "awardedSupplier": "Thinkproject UK Ltd", "cpvCodes": ["72260000"], "region": "Any region", "suitableForSme": true, "url": "https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/78a88c6e-e85c-47d4-80a7-dbbe8abf74d4"}
```

### How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee **per notice** returned, plus a tiny per-run start fee, with no subscription and no separate platform usage costs. For example, 1,000 notices cost about $2. Searches with no matches are **not charged**. Set **Max results** or **Maximum cost per run** to cap your spending.

### Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets. AI agents can find and call it through the Apify MCP server. Output is clean JSON with the same fields on every run.

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** Yes. Contracts Finder is published by the UK government for public use, and its data is available under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (attribution: "Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0"). The tool does not collect buyer contact names, emails or phone numbers.

**What about Find a Tender?** Large above-threshold UK tenders are also published on Find a Tender; Contracts Finder covers lower-value notices and many larger ones too. Pair this tool with our EU TED Tenders Scraper for European coverage.

**Are there more than 1,000 results?** Yes. The tool automatically splits big searches into date windows so you get every match.
