## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot: Full Page, Mobile & PDF (Bulk)

Take **screenshots of any website in bulk**: paste a list of URLs and get a sharp **full-page or visible-screen** image of each one, as **desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile (iPhone)**, in **PNG or JPEG**, plus an optional **PDF**. Every screenshot gets a shareable image link in a table, ready for Excel, Google Sheets or your app.

- **Clean screenshots**: common cookie banners, consent popups and chat bubbles are hidden automatically.
- **Complete pages**: it scrolls through the page first so lazy-loaded images actually appear.
- **Real devices**: mobile and tablet use a phone browser identity and retina resolution (1170 px wide for iPhone).
- **Dark mode, custom sizes, extra delay** and three loading strategies for heavy JavaScript sites.
- **Fair pricing**: pay per successful screenshot. Pages that fail to load are free.

### Who is it for?

- **SEO and marketing agencies**: capture client and competitor homepages and landing pages for reports and audits.
- **Designers and QA teams**: check how pages look on desktop and mobile after every release.
- **Compliance and archiving**: keep dated visual records of web pages, ads and pricing pages, as images or PDF.
- **Developers and AI agents**: generate link previews or thumbnails, or feed page images to vision models.
- **Monitoring**: schedule daily runs to build a visual history of any page.

### How to use it

1. Paste your **URLs**, one per line (https:// is optional).
2. Pick a **Device** and choose **Full-page** or only the visible screen.
3. Optionally choose JPEG (smaller files), **Also save a PDF**, dark mode or an extra delay.
4. Click **Start**. Each result row has a `screenshotUrl` link you can open, share or download. All images are also in the run's key-value store.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["https://apify.com", "github.com", "https://www.bbc.com"],
  "device": "mobile",
  "fullPage": true,
  "format": "jpeg",
  "savePdf": false
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "url": "https://apify.com",
  "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "title": "Apify: Full-stack web scraping and data extraction platform",
  "screenshotUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/<storeId>/records/0000-apify.com-d0734c.png",
  "format": "png",
  "device": "desktop",
  "viewportWidth": 1366,
  "viewportHeight": 768,
  "fullPage": true,
  "pageHeight": 10052,
  "capturedHeight": 10052,
  "sizeBytes": 486561,
  "takenAt": "2026-10-09T16:34:10Z"
}
```

### How much does it cost?

Pay-per-event: a small fee **per screenshot taken** plus a tiny per-run start fee, with no subscription and no separate platform usage costs. For example, 1,000 screenshots cost about $2. Pages that don't load (bad domain, error page, timeout) are **not charged**. Set **Maximum cost per run** to cap your spending.

### Tips

- Use **JPEG** for full-page screenshots of long pages. Files are often 5–10 times smaller.
- If a page looks half-loaded, set **Wait until** to *Network idle* or add a 3–5 second **Extra delay**.
- Very long pages are cut at **Max full-page height** (15,000 px by default) to keep images usable.

### Use it through the API, integrations or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, schedules, Make, Zapier or n8n, or call it from AI agents through the Apify MCP server. Image links in `screenshotUrl` work directly in Google Sheets with `=IMAGE(url)`.

### FAQ

**Can it screenshot pages behind a login?** No. It only captures public pages.

**Why does a site show a "verify you are human" page?** A few sites block automated browsers. Those pages are captured as they appear. Try again later or with a longer delay.

**How long are the images kept?** Images stay in your run's storage according to your Apify plan's data retention. Download them, or copy them to your own storage, if you need them long-term.

**Found a bug or need a feature?** Open an issue. We usually reply within 24 hours.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Web pages to screenshot, one per line. https:// is added if missing.

## `device` (type: `string`):

Screen size to emulate. Mobile and tablet use a phone user agent and retina scaling.

## `width` (type: `integer`):

Only used when Device is Custom size.

## `height` (type: `integer`):

Only used when Device is Custom size.

## `fullPage` (type: `boolean`):

1-100. Only used for JPEG.

## `savePdf` (type: `boolean`):

Additionally save each page as an A4 PDF (link in the pdfUrl field).

## `hideBannersAndChat` (type: `boolean`):

Hides common cookie-consent popups and chat bubbles for cleaner screenshots.

## `scrollToLoadImages` (type: `boolean`):

Scrolls through the page first so lazy-loaded images appear in full-page screenshots.

## `darkMode` (type: `boolean`):

Ask the website for its dark color scheme (if it has one).

## `waitUntil` (type: `string`):

## `delaySecs` (type: `number`):

Wait this long after loading before taking the screenshot, for animations or slow widgets.

## `maxFullPageHeight` (type: `integer`):

Very long pages are cut at this height to keep images a reasonable size.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Give up on a page after this long.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many pages to capture in parallel.
