## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper

**Reviews and ratings from both the Apple App Store and Google Play — in one run, one clean dataset. $0.20 per 1,000 reviews.**

Paste Google Play packages or URLs and App Store links or IDs, pick countries, and get every review with rating, text, date, app version, likes and developer replies — plus app-level stats.

### Why this one

- **Both stores, one schema** — compare your iOS and Android feedback side by side.
- **Multi-country** — fetch reviews for `us`, `gb`, `de`, `in`… in a single run.
- **Monitoring mode** — returns only reviews you haven't seen. Schedule it daily and pipe new (or only 1–2★) reviews to Slack, email, Zendesk or Google Sheets.
- **Filters** — star range (e.g. complaints only), last N days or date from.
- **App details** — title, developer, average rating, ratings count, installs, price, genre, version, last update.
- **Pay only for results** — no start fee, no monthly rent.

### Who uses it

- **Product & mobile teams** — catch bugs and feature requests right after a release.
- **Customer support** — never miss a 1★ review; respond faster.
- **ASO & marketing** — track ratings and sentiment across countries.
- **Competitive research** — mine competitors' reviews for pain points.
- **AI / LLM** — feed reviews into sentiment analysis, clustering and summaries.

### Output example

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "platform": "google_play",
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "appTitle": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "reviewId": "dbbc98c8-b7ef-4f90-b15c-2eda047d49b9",
  "userName": "Nate",
  "rating": 5,
  "title": null,
  "text": "One of my favorite streaming apps. Music recommendations are spot on...",
  "appVersion": "9.1.82.2161",
  "thumbsUp": 0,
}
```

App Store reviews also include a `title`. App records (`"type": "app"`) contain the app-level stats.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Review scraped | $0.0002 |
| App details (per app & country) | $0.001 |

10,000 reviews ≈ **$2**.

### Input tips

- **Google Play**: `com.whatsapp` or `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp`
- **App Store**: `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997` or `310633997`
- **Complaints only**: set *Maximum stars* = 2.
- **Daily alerts**: enable *Only new reviews since last run* + a daily Schedule + Slack integration.

### Limits

- Apple's public review feed returns up to **500 most recent reviews per country** (10 pages × 50). For more history, add more countries.
- Google Play has no practical limit.

### FAQ

**Do I need an account or API key?** No.

**Can I get reviews in a specific language?** For Google Play, set *Language*. App Store reviews are per country (in whatever language users wrote).

**Something broke?** Open an issue — I usually respond within 24 hours.
