## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Telegram Channel Scraper & Monitor

**Scrape any public Telegram channel in seconds — posts, views, reactions, media, links and channel stats. No login, no phone number, no API keys. $1 per 1,000 posts.**

Paste channel usernames or links (`durov`, `@telegram`, `https://t.me/s/cointelegraph`) and get a clean dataset you can export to JSON, CSV, Excel or Google Sheets.

### What you get

**Every post:** text (with emojis), date, views, reactions (by emoji, plus total), photos, video thumbnails & durations, documents, link previews, outgoing links, hashtags, mentions, forwarded-from channel, reply link, author signature and edit flag.

**Every channel (optional):** title, verified badge, subscribers, description, photo and photo/video/link counters.

### Popular uses

- **Crypto & trading signals** — track announcement and signal channels in real time.
- **Brand & PR monitoring** — find every mention of your brand with keyword search.
- **Market research & OSINT** — archive and analyze channels, measure engagement.
- **Content & growth teams** — benchmark competitor channels by views and reactions.
- **AI / LLM pipelines** — feed fresh Telegram content into your RAG or alerts.

### Features

- Bulk channels in one run
- **Keyword search inside channels** (Telegram's native search)
- **Date filters**: last N days or a custom range
- **Monitoring mode**: returns only posts published since the previous run — schedule it hourly and connect Slack, email, webhooks or Google Sheets
- Numbers parsed for you (`18.9M` → `18900000`)
- Fast HTTP scraping, automatic retries, no browser
- **Pay only for results** — no start fee

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Post scraped | $0.001 |
| Channel info | $0.002 |

1,000 posts ≈ **$1**. Monitoring 10 channels hourly typically costs a few cents a day.

### Example output

```json
{
  "type": "post",
  "channel": "durov",
  "channelTitle": "Pavel Durov",
  "channelSubscribers": 10500000,
  "postId": 548,
  "url": "https://t.me/durov/548",
  "date": "2026-09-11T16:04:02+00:00",
  "text": "Telegram has become the sponsor of Codeforces ...",
  "views": 2000000,
  "reactions": [{ "emoji": "👍", "count": 21200 }, { "emoji": "❤", "count": 31500 }],
  "links": ["https://codeforces.com/blog/entry/156620"],
  "photos": [],
  "videos": [],
  "forwardedFrom": null
}
```

### How to use

1. Add channels (one per line).
2. Optional: set **Max posts per channel**, **Search keywords** and a **date filter**.
3. Click **Start**, then export or connect an integration.

#### Real-time alerts in 2 minutes

Enable **Only new posts since last run** → create a **Schedule** (every hour) → add a **Slack / email / webhook integration**. You'll receive only fresh posts.

### FAQ

**Does it work with private channels or groups?** No — only public channels that have web preview enabled (most public channels do). No login is used.

**Why are some reactions shown as `custom` or `⭐`?** Those are custom emoji and paid star reactions; counts are still included.

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads the public web preview Telegram itself provides at t.me/s/. Use the data responsibly and respect privacy laws.

**Need a feature?** Open an issue — I usually respond within 24 hours.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Public channel usernames or links, one per line. Examples: durov, @telegram, https://t.me/s/cointelegraph

## `maxPostsPerChannel` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of posts to return per channel (newest first).

## `searchKeywords` (type: `array`):

Only return posts matching these keywords (Telegram's own in-channel search). Leave empty to get all posts.

## `lastNDays` (type: `integer`):

Stops when older posts are reached. Ignored if 'Date from' is set.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Only posts published on or after this date.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Only posts published on or before this date.

## `includeChannelInfo` (type: `boolean`):

Adds one record per channel with title, subscribers, description, photo and media counters.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers the newest post per channel. Schedule the Actor (e.g. hourly) to receive only new posts — great for alerts to Slack, email or Google Sheets.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Usually not needed. Enable Apify Proxy for very large jobs.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "channels": [
    "durov",
    "telegram"
  ],
  "maxPostsPerChannel": 100,
  "includeChannelInfo": true,
  "onlyNewSinceLastRun": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
