## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Telegram Channel Scraper do?

**Telegram Channel Scraper** extracts posts from any **public Telegram channel** — text, publish date, **views, reactions**, photos, videos, files, polls, link previews, forwards, replies, hashtags and mentions — together with channel stats (title, **subscriber count**, verification, description, avatar).

You can **search inside channels by keyword or hashtag** and limit results by **date range**. No Telegram account, no phone number, no API ID/hash and no login needed.

### Why use it?

- **Market & crypto intelligence**: track announcements, signals and sentiment in crypto, trading and news channels.
- **Brand and competitor monitoring**: see what channels say about your brand, product or competitors.
- **Media monitoring & research**: archive and analyse news, political or OSINT channels.
- **Influencer & ad research**: compare channels by subscribers, views per post and engagement (reactions).
- **AI datasets**: feed clean post text into LLMs, RAG pipelines and classifiers.

### Features

- ✅ Any number of public channels in one run (usernames, @handles or t.me links)
- ✅ Goes back in time as far as you need (`maxPostsPerChannel`)
- ✅ **Keyword / hashtag search** inside each channel
- ✅ **Date filters**: oldest and newest post date
- ✅ Views, reactions (with counts), forwards, replies, polls, link previews
- ✅ Photo URLs, video URLs with thumbnails and duration, documents
- ✅ Channel stats on every post: subscribers, verified badge, description
- ✅ Per-channel error items — a wrong username never fails the run
- ✅ Fast and lightweight: no browser, no login

### How to use it

1. Enter channel usernames or links in **Telegram channels** (e.g. `durov`, `@telegram`, `https://t.me/somechannel`).
2. Optionally set **Max posts per channel**, a **Search keyword** and a **date range**.
3. Click **Start** and export the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or via API.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "channels": ["durov", "https://t.me/telegram"],
  "maxPostsPerChannel": 200,
  "searchKeyword": "",
  "oldestDate": "2026-01-01",
  "includeChannelInfo": true
}
```

#### Output example

  "url": "https://t.me/durov/548",

}
```
### How much does it cost?
This Actor uses **pay-per-event** pricing: you pay a small fixed price **per post scraped** — see the Pricing tab. Error items (wrong usernames, private channels) are free. Platform usage is included.
### Limitations
- Only **public channels** that have Telegram's web preview enabled can be scraped. Private channels, groups and channels with disabled preview return an error item.
- Subscriber counts are shown by Telegram rounded (e.g. `10.5M`) and converted to numbers.
- Custom (premium) emoji reactions are returned with their `customEmojiId`.
### FAQ
**Do I need a Telegram account or API key?** No.
**Can I scrape comments or group members?** No — this Actor covers public channel posts only.
**Is it legal?** It reads only content that Telegram publishes publicly on the web for anyone to see. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws (e.g. GDPR) in how you use the data.
**Need something else?** Open an issue in the Issues tab.
