### How it works

1. The Actor reads your che168 URL and turns its city, brand, series, body type, price band, trims, filter slug, keyword and sort order into the same search che168's own app runs.
2. It loads the matching listings page by page. If your search has more results than che168 shows for one search (about 550), it splits the search into price bands and walks them in turn.
3. For a city or province search, cars located elsewhere are left out.
4. For each listing it reads the listing details (VIN, MSRP, specs, photos, seller notes) and the dealer profile, and with **Reveal dealer phone numbers** on, the dealer's virtual phone number.
5. A listing that was removed before it could be read is skipped and not charged.

**Where do I get the search URL?**
Open [che168.com](https://www.che168.com/), pick a city, brand, series and any filters you want, then copy the URL from your browser's address bar.

**What URL formats are supported?**
Anything che168's filter UI generates: nationwide (`/china/…`), province (`/anhui/…`) and city (`/beijing/…`) searches, brand only, brand and series, body types (`/suv/`, `/mpv/`, `/china/baoma/suv/`), price bands (`/10_15/`), trims (`/s17823-20310/`), the long filter slug (`/a0_0ms…ex…/`) and keyword searches (`?kw=…`). Both `www.che168.com` and `m.che168.com` addresses work. Single-listing URLs (`/dealer/…/….html`) are not supported.

**How accurate is the city filter?**
Strict. When the URL contains a city such as `/beijing/`, only cars located in that city are returned; for a province such as `/anhui/`, only cars in that province. The run log says how many out-of-area suggestions were left out.

**What do `price` and `mileage` mean?**
che168 gives prices in 万 RMB (10,000 RMB) and mileage in 万 km (10,000 km). `price: 4.38` is 43,800 RMB; `mileage: 1.6` is 16,000 km.

**What is the phone number I get?**
`phone.xnumber` is the virtual number (虚拟号) che168 gives a buyer who presses "call" on a listing, the same number you'd see in the che168 app. It forwards to the dealer's line; the dealer's real number is never shown by che168. che168 hands these numbers out from a shared pool and binds them to a listing for a limited time, so the same number can appear on several listings and a car gets a different number on the next run. Call soon after scraping, and use `dealer.address` or `dealer.dealername` when you need a permanent way to reach the dealer.

**Why is the VIN or MSRP empty on some listings?**
Some sellers don't add the VIN, and listings che168 carries from 瓜子二手车 (Guazi) have none. Some trims have no guide price on che168. Those fields are empty then. On very large runs, if che168 keeps refusing the request that carries the MSRP even through a proxy, the run carries on without MSRP, publish date and inspection report link, and the log says so.

**Why are fewer listings saved than che168 reports?**
che168's count includes cars from other cities for city searches, and listings that are sold while the run is going. Both are left out.

**Do I need a proxy?**
No. The Actor connects directly and switches to [Apify Proxy](https://docs.apify.com/platform/proxy) on its own if che168 starts refusing requests.

**Can I schedule runs or export to Google Sheets?**

Nationwide (/china/), province and city searches, brand, series, body type, price band, trim (/s4019-5201/) and the long filter slug (/a0_0ms…/) are all supported. Single-listing URLs are not.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after saving this many listings. Keep it low for a cheap first look at the data, then raise it (up to 10,000).

## `enrichPhone` (type: `boolean`):

Get the dealer's virtual phone number (虚拟号) for each listing. It forwards to the dealer's real line. Billed as a separate 'contact' event only for listings where a number is returned.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed in most cases. The scraper connects directly and switches to Apify Proxy by itself if che168 starts refusing requests.
