## Pricing

from $1.29 / 1,000 despegar hotel reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### What is Despegar Hotel Reviews Scraper?

**Despegar Hotel Reviews Scraper** is a **Despegar reviews API** alternative that turns any Despegar hotel page into structured guest-review data. Give it a hotel URL such as `https://www.despegar.com.ar/hoteles/h-1051991/amerian-cordoba-cordoba` (or just the ID `1051991`) and it returns **every available guest review** with rating, **separate pros and cons**, trip type, and useful votes, enriched with the **hotel's overall score, six category scores, and AI-generated opinion summary**.

No Despegar account or API key is needed. The easiest way to try it is to open the actor, keep the prefilled hotel, and click **Start**.

### What can Despegar Hotel Reviews Scraper do?

- 💬 **Collect all available reviews** for a hotel, or cap them with `maxReviewsPerHotel`. In our tests, one hotel returned 1,120 reviews in a few seconds.
- 👍 **Split feedback into pros and cons**, exactly as guests wrote them on Despegar.
- 🧳 **See who traveled**: couple, family, friends, solo, or business trip, with the site's label.
- 🏨 **Add hotel context** to every row: overall score and label, review count, location, cleanliness, staff, service, Wi-Fi, and value scores, AI summary, city, address, and star class.
- 🌎 **Cover 7 markets**: Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, and Ecuador.
- 🗣️ **Choose the language**: Spanish, Portuguese (with translated review text), or English labels.
- ⏱️ **Monitor hotels** with [Apify schedules](https://docs.apify.com/platform/schedules) to track new reviews and score changes.
- 🔌 **Integrate** through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2), webhooks, and [integrations](https://apify.com/integrations) such as Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, and Slack.
- 📁 **Export** as JSON, CSV, Excel, HTML, or XML.

### Use cases

- **Hotel reputation management**: track new reviews and category scores for your properties in Latin America.
- **Competitor benchmarking**: compare location, cleanliness, staff, service, Wi-Fi, and value scores across hotels.
- **Guest feedback analysis**: run sentiment or topic analysis on separate pros and cons.
- **Travel research**: see which trip types (families, couples, business travelers) rate a hotel best.
- **Market studies**: collect reviews across Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and other Despegar markets.

### How it works

1. The actor reads each hotel URL or ID and works out the hotel ID and Despegar market.
2. It pages through the hotel's guest reviews until all are collected or your limit is reached.
3. With **Include hotel summary** on, it reads the hotel's rating summary and hotel page once per hotel and adds those fields to every review.
4. It saves one row per review and logs any hotel that could not be found.

### How much does it cost to scrape Despegar reviews?

**What is the price per Despegar review?**

The actor uses pay-per-event pricing: you pay per review saved, and platform usage is included.

| Event | Free plan | Bronze | Silver | Gold |
|-------|-----------|--------|--------|------|
| `review-scraped` | $0.00199 (**$1.99 / 1,000**) | $0.00179 (**$1.79 / 1,000**) | $0.00149 (**$1.49 / 1,000**) | $0.00129 (**$1.29 / 1,000**) |

One `review-scraped` event is one review saved to the dataset. The default 200-review run costs about $0.40 on the Free plan; 1,000 reviews cost $1.99. Hotels with no reviews are not charged. Apify's free plan includes monthly platform credits you can use to try the actor.

### Is it legal to scrape Despegar reviews?

**Is scraping Despegar hotel reviews legal?**

The actor only collects reviews that Despegar shows publicly on hotel pages. Scraping public data is generally legal in many jurisdictions, but reviews contain personal data (first names and countries) protected by laws such as GDPR and Argentina's and Mexico's data-protection laws. Collect only what you need, respect Despegar's terms, and consult your lawyer if unsure. Read more in Apify's guide: [Is web scraping legal?](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/)

### FAQ

**How many reviews can I get per hotel?**
All reviews Despegar lists for the hotel. Set `maxReviewsPerHotel` to `0` to collect them all. `totalReviews` is the count shown in Despegar's rating summary, and the number of reviews listed can differ from it (for example, 1,120 listed reviews for a hotel whose summary shows 645).

**Which market should I choose?**
For hotel URLs, the market comes from the URL's domain automatically. For hotel IDs, choose the Despegar site the hotel belongs to. Argentina (`AR`) is the default.

**What do the language options do?**
`es` returns Spanish labels and the original review text. `pt` returns Portuguese labels and Despegar's Portuguese translation of the review text. `en` returns English labels, dates, and AI summary, while the review text stays in its original language.

**Why is `aiSummary` empty for some hotels?**
Despegar only generates an AI summary for some hotels. When it has none, the field is `null`.

**Why are hotel name, city, or address empty?**
They come from the hotel page, which is read once per hotel. If that page could not be loaded during the run, those fields are left empty while all review and score fields are still saved. Turn off **Include hotel summary** if you only need review fields.

**Can I schedule runs?**
Yes. Use [schedules](https://docs.apify.com/platform/schedules) to collect reviews daily or weekly, and connect results with [integrations](https://apify.com/integrations).

**Where can I report issues?**
Open the **Issues** tab on the actor page with your input and run ID.
