## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### Apify Actor Details Scraper

**Scrape Apify actor details from any actor page URL, up to a million per run.** Every actor comes with its title, description, author, stats, Open Graph and Twitter Card metadata, and SEO tags. No login or API key. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

Apify's API needs an API token and pagination handling. This reads the public actor detail pages directly, extracting structured metadata and on-page statistics from each URL you provide, and returns every match in one fixed schema. Ideal for cataloging actors, monitoring competitor listings, or building a searchable index of the Apify Store.

| Who uses it | What they scrape Apify Store for |
|---|---|
| SEO analysts | Audit Open Graph and Twitter Card tags across published Apify actors. |
| Developer tool curators | Build a searchable catalog of Apify actors with titles, descriptions, and categories. |
| Growth marketers | Track competitor actor descriptions, user counts, and run statistics over time. |
| Content managers | Verify that actor metadata, favicons, and theme colors are consistent across a portfolio. |

### What it does

This Actor collects Apify actor details from a list of actor page URLs and returns each one as a flat row with metadata, stats, and SEO tags.

- 🔗 **Batch URLs:** Paste a list of actor page URLs and scrape them all in one run.
- 📊 **Actor stats:** Collects user count and total runs displayed on the page.
- 🏷️ **Full metadata:** Extracts Open Graph, Twitter Card, JSON-LD alternate link, and standard meta tags.
- 🌐 **SEO signals:** Returns language, robots directives, canonical URL, and color scheme.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

### What you can do with Apify Store data

**📋 Catalog Apify actors.**

A developer tools blogger scrapes a list of actor URLs to build a searchable directory with titles, descriptions, and author names.

**📈 Monitor competitor listings.**

A growth marketer scrapes competitor actor pages weekly to track changes in descriptions, user counts, and run statistics.

**🏷️ Audit social media tags.**

An SEO analyst scrapes a portfolio of actor URLs to verify that every page has correct Open Graph and Twitter Card tags.

**🌐 Check technical SEO.**

A content manager scrapes actor pages to confirm consistent language declarations, robots directives, and canonical URLs.

### Why choose this scraper

| | What you get |
|---|---|
| **Batch actor scraping** | Provide a list of actor URLs and get structured data for all of them in one dataset. |
| **Metadata extraction** | Collects title, description, Open Graph, Twitter Card, and other meta tags from each actor page. |
| **On-page statistics** | Captures the displayed user count and total runs for each actor. |
| **SEO tag audit** | Returns language, robots, canonical URL, and theme color for every actor. |

### What a Apify Store record looks like

Every record returns as one flat JSON row. Here is a real one from a run:

```json
{
 "imageUrl": "https://apify.com/og-image/actor?actorName=Coloring+Book+Generator&uniqueName=parseforge%2Fcoloring-book-generator&categories=AI%2CAUTOMATION&users=40&runs=350&pictureUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fapify-image-uploads-prod.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com%2FcVMETqAHRNbnOCzAq-actor-ob9Z2eRmM1HuFS7OU-WiC6MqrZEA-coloring-book-generator.jpg&authorName=ParseForge&userPictureUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.apifyusercontent.com%2FE86fuDn4bLxnB18Qd4IveUoge-5tiYOlVMx9GMRIthE%2Frs%3Afill%3A224%3A224%2Fcb%3A1%2FaHR0cHM6Ly9hcGlmeS1pbWFnZS11cGxvYWRzLXByb2QuczMudXMtZWFzdC0xLmFtYXpvbmF3cy5jb20vY1ZNRVRxQUhSTmJuT0N6QXEtcHJvZmlsZS1nUnlIY0FJQW5kLXBhcnNlZm9yZ2VfbG9nby5wbmc.webp",
```

Every value above comes from a real run. A field a record does not have comes back as `null`.

### Configure the run

Drive the Actor from a list of Apify actor page URLs, and each page is parsed for its full metadata and on-page statistics so only complete records reach your dataset. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

```json
{
 "actorUrls": [
 {
 "url": "https://apify.com/parseforge/coloring-book-generator"
 }
 ],
 "maxItems": 10
}
```

A larger pull:

```json
{
 "actorUrls": [
 {
 "url": "https://apify.com/parseforge/coloring-book-generator"
 }
 ],
 "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Free users

Free-plan runs return up to 10 results as a preview. [Upgrade your Apify plan](https://console.apify.com/sign-up?fpr=vmoqkp) to collect up to 1,000,000 results per run.

### Run it

1. [Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit](https://console.apify.com/sign-up?fpr=vmoqkp).
2. Set your inputs and any filters, then click **Start**.
3. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the **Dataset** tab.

Run it programmatically through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) (`run-sync-get-dataset-items`) or the [ApifyClient](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js) for JavaScript and Python.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Apify Store through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

```bash
```

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

### Troubleshooting

**Why am I getting no results?**

Check that the URLs you provided are valid Apify actor detail pages (e.g., https://apify.com/username/actor-name). Listing or search result pages will not return actor details.

**Why are some metadata fields empty in the output?**

Not every actor page includes all metadata tags. If a tag like og:image or twitter:creator is missing from the page HTML, the corresponding field will be empty in your dataset.

**The run failed with a timeout error.**

A large list of URLs can take time. Increase the run timeout in your actor settings, or split the list into smaller batches and run them separately.

**Why do I see a preview limit message?**

Free accounts are limited to 10 actor URLs per run. Upgrade to a paid plan to scrape up to 1,000,000 URLs.

### FAQ

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can I scrape multiple actor URLs in one run? | Yes. Provide a list of actor page URLs in the input, and the Actor will visit and extract details from each one sequentially. |
| What metadata does this Actor extract? | It extracts the page title, description, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, standard meta tags, canonical URL, language, robots directives, favicon, and theme color. |
| Does this Actor require an Apify API token? | No. It reads the public HTML of each actor page directly, so no API token or login is needed. |
| What actor statistics are collected? | The Actor captures the number of users and the total run count displayed on the actor detail page. |
| Can I scrape actor pages that are not in English? | Yes. The Actor extracts the declared language from the page metadata, and the text content is returned as it appears on the page. |
| Is there a limit on how many actor URLs I can scrape? | Free users are limited to 10 items as a preview. Paid users can scrape up to 1,000,000 actor URLs per run. |
| What output formats are supported? | You can export the scraped data to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from the dataset tab. |
| Does this Actor handle pagination on actor listing pages? | No. It is designed for individual actor detail pages. Provide the direct URL of each actor you want to scrape. |
