## Pricing

from $3.14 / 1,000 result items

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### Shopify Metadata Scraper

**Scrape metadata from any Shopify page: title, meta description, Open Graph tags, canonical URL, hreflang, navigation links, and more.** Returns structured data for SEO audits, competitive analysis, and content localization. No API key or login required. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.

Shopify's corporate site and storefront pages contain rich metadata that is hard to extract manually. This scraper reads the HTML of any Shopify URL and returns the title, meta description, Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url), canonical URL, hreflang alternates, navigation links, hero image details, preload fonts, favicon, and Apple touch icon. It simulates a real browser with configurable country and language for localized content.

| Who uses it | What they scrape Shopify for |
|---|---|
| SEO specialists | Audit Shopify storefront metadata for title tags, descriptions, and Open Graph tags across multiple pages. |
| Competitive analysts | Monitor how Shopify presents its own site metadata to inform your own e-commerce SEO strategy. |
| Content localizers | Extract hreflang and localized metadata to verify multi-language or multi-region content deployment. |
| Web developers | Validate canonical URLs, navigation structure, and preload assets on Shopify-based sites. |

### What it does

This Actor collects metadata from any Shopify page by URL and returns each page's title, meta description, Open Graph tags, canonical URL, hreflang links, navigation links, hero image data, preload assets, and icons as a flat row.

- 🌐 **Multi-region scraping:** Choose from 50+ countries and 3 languages (English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese) to see localized metadata.
- 📄 **Full metadata extraction:** Returns title, meta description, Open Graph tags, canonical URL, hreflang alternates, navigation links, hero image with srcset and sizes, preload fonts, favicon, and Apple touch icon.
- 🔗 **Flexible URL input:** Provide one or more Shopify page URLs. Defaults to the Shopify homepage if none given.

Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.

### What you can do with Shopify data

**🔍 Audit Shopify storefront SEO metadata.**

An SEO agency runs the scraper on the Shopify homepage and key landing pages to verify title tags, meta descriptions, and Open Graph tags are correct and consistent.

**🌍 Compare localized metadata across regions.**

A global brand uses the country and language filters to extract metadata for the US, UK, Germany, and Japan to ensure hreflang tags and localized content are deployed correctly.

**📊 Monitor competitor site metadata changes.**

A competitive intelligence team schedules weekly runs on competitor Shopify storefronts to track changes in meta descriptions, canonical URLs, and navigation structure.

**🛠 Validate canonical URLs and hreflang tags.**

A web developer scrapes a set of Shopify pages to confirm canonical URLs point to the correct version and hreflang alternates are present for multi-language sites.

### Why choose this scraper

| | What you get |
|---|---|
| **No API key** | Scrapes public HTML directly without Shopify API registration or OAuth. |
| **Structured metadata** | Returns title, meta description, Open Graph tags, canonical URL, hreflang, navigation, hero image, preload assets, and icons in a flat schema. |
| **Localized content** | Choose from 50+ countries and 3 languages to see region-specific metadata. |
| **Export ready** | Download results as CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML for analysis or reporting. |

### How it compares

Compared to the Shopify Scraper (autofacts/shopify), this Actor focuses on page-level metadata (SEO tags, Open Graph, hreflang, navigation) rather than product-level data (prices, variants, stock).

| Feature | ParseForge | Shopify Scraper |
|---|---|---|
| Page title and meta description | Yes | Not listed |
| Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url) | Yes | Not listed |
| Canonical URL and hreflang alternates | Yes | Not listed |
| Navigation links and hero image data | Yes | Not listed |
| Product-level data (prices, variants, stock) | No | Yes |
| Multi-region and multi-language simulation | Yes | Not listed |

### What a Shopify record looks like

Every record returns as one flat JSON row. Here is a real one from a run:

```json
{
}
```

Every value above comes from a real run. A field a record does not have comes back as `null`.

### Configure the run

Drive the Actor from one or more Shopify page URLs. The region country and language filters let you simulate a visitor from a specific locale so the returned metadata matches what users in that market see. The Input tab lists every parameter.

A first run with the defaults:

```json
{
 "startUrls": [
 {
 "url": "https://www.shopify.com"
 }
 ],
 "maxItems": 10,
 "regionCountry": "US",
 "regionLanguage": "en"
}
```

A larger pull:

```json
{
 "startUrls": [
 {
 "url": "https://www.shopify.com"
 }
 ],
 "maxItems": 200,
 "regionCountry": "US",
 "regionLanguage": "en"
}
```

### Free users

Free-plan runs return up to 10 results as a preview. [Upgrade your Apify plan](https://console.apify.com/sign-up?fpr=vmoqkp) to collect up to 1,000,000 results per run.

### Run it

1. [Create a free Apify account with $5 in credit](https://console.apify.com/sign-up?fpr=vmoqkp).
2. Set your inputs and any filters, then click **Start**.
3. Export the results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML from the **Dataset** tab.

Run it programmatically through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) (`run-sync-get-dataset-items`) or the [ApifyClient](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js) for JavaScript and Python.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Give an AI agent live access to Shopify through the Model Context Protocol. Add the Actor to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client:

```bash
```

Then prompt it in plain language to run the scraper and read back the results.

### Troubleshooting

**Why am I getting no results?**

Check that the URL is a public Shopify page and returns HTTP 200. Also verify that the region and language settings are correct for the page you are targeting.

**The metadata fields are empty.**

Some pages may not include all metadata tags (e.g., no Open Graph tags, no hreflang). The scraper returns null for missing fields. Try a different URL or check the page source manually.

**I see different metadata than what I expected.**

The metadata can vary by region and language. Ensure your Region Country and Region Language inputs match the audience you want to simulate. Also, the page may serve different content based on cookies or user agent.

**The scraper is slow or times out.**

Reduce the number of concurrent requests or increase the timeout. If scraping many URLs, consider splitting them into smaller batches.

**I get an error about invalid URL.**

Make sure the URL starts with http:// or https:// and is a valid Shopify page. URLs like shopify.com without the protocol will be rejected.

### FAQ

| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What pages can I scrape with this Actor? | Any public Shopify page URL. The default is the Shopify homepage, but you can provide any Shopify storefront or corporate page URL. |
| Do I need a Shopify API key? | No. This scraper reads the public HTML of the page directly, no API registration or OAuth required. |
| What metadata fields are returned? | Title, meta description, Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url), canonical URL, hreflang alternates, navigation links, hero image with srcset and sizes, preload fonts, favicon, and Apple touch icon. |
| Can I scrape product-level data like prices or stock? | No. This Actor extracts page-level metadata only. For product data (prices, variants, stock), use a dedicated Shopify product scraper. |
| How do I scrape localized content? | Set the Region Country and Region Language input fields. The scraper simulates a visitor from that locale and returns the metadata served to that audience. |
| What is the maximum number of pages I can scrape? | Free users are limited to 10 items (preview). Paid users can set maxItems up to 1,000,000. |
| Can I scrape multiple URLs in one run? | Yes. Provide an array of start URLs. Each URL is scraped independently and results are combined into one dataset. |
| What export formats are supported? | CSV, JSON, Excel, and XML. You can download the dataset from the Apify storage or push it to a destination via webhook. |
| Does this Actor handle JavaScript-rendered content? | No. It parses the static HTML returned by the server. If the page relies on JavaScript to load metadata, the scraper may not capture it. |
| Is there a risk of being blocked? | The Shopify corporate site has low anti-bot risk. However, scraping at high concurrency may trigger rate limits. Use moderate concurrency and respect robots.txt. |
