## Pricing

from $33.75 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## 📈 Similarweb Website Traffic & Audience Scraper

> Get Similarweb's estimated traffic, ranking, audience and competitor data for any domain — no login, no paid Similarweb account required.

### What it does

For each domain you provide, this actor opens `similarweb.com/website/{domain}/` in a real (stealth) browser,
lets it pass Similarweb's bot-detection challenge, and extracts the full dataset embedded in the page — the
same numbers you'd see on the website: global/country/category rank, estimated monthly visits and MoM change,
bounce rate, pages/visit, average visit duration, top traffic countries, age/gender breakdown, dominant traffic
channel, top competitor domains, and basic company info (founded year, HQ, employee/revenue range).

### Why a browser (no proxy though)

Similarweb sits behind AWS WAF Bot Control. A plain HTTP request gets `202 Accepted` and never returns content —
it requires a browser that can execute the challenge's JavaScript. This actor uses Camoufox (a hardened,
fingerprint-resistant Firefox) via Playwright to pass it. No residential proxy is used or required.

### Data limitation (source-side, not a bug)

Similarweb only reveals the exact percentage for the **single dominant traffic channel** to anonymous viewers;
the rest only show relative rank, not percentage. That's why the output has `topTrafficChannel` +
`topTrafficChannelShare` (one number) plus `trafficChannelRanking` (ordered list) instead of a percentage per
channel — shipping five always-null percentage fields would be misleading.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `maxItems` | Max domains to process. Free users limited to 10. |
| `domains` | List of domains, e.g. `["google.com", "openai.com"]`. |

### Output fields

`domain`, `companyName`, `description`, `globalRank`, `countryRank`, `countryCode`, `categoryRank`,
`monthlyVisits`, `monthlyVisitsChange`, `bounceRate`, `pagesPerVisit`, `avgVisitDuration`, `topCountry`,
`topCountryShare`, `genderMale`, `genderFemale`, `topTrafficChannel`, `topTrafficChannelShare`,
`trafficChannelRanking`, `topCompetitors`, `topCountries`, `ageDistribution`, `companyYearFounded`,
`companyHeadquarters`, `companyEmployeesRange`, `companyRevenueRange`, `scrapedAt`, `error`.

# Actor input Schema

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Free users: Limited to 10 items (preview). Paid users: Optional, max 1,000,000. One item = one domain.

## `domains` (type: `array`):

List of domains to look up (e.g. \['google.com', 'openai.com']). Protocol/path not needed.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many domains to process in parallel. Each parallel worker launches its own separate browser (its own fingerprint/identity) so concurrent requests don't look like one bot swarm to Similarweb's bot detection. Higher is faster but uses more memory. Default 8, max 20.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "maxItems": 10,
  "domains": [
    "google.com",
    "openai.com",
    "wikipedia.org"
  ],
  "maxConcurrency": 8
}
## JavaScript example
```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {

    ]
};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("parselab/similarweb-traffic-scraper").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
