## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Tech Stack Detector (Wappalyzer Alternative)

**Find out what any website is built with — in bulk.** Paste a list of domains and get each site's **CMS, ecommerce platform, JavaScript frameworks, analytics and ad pixels, marketing & chat tools, payment providers, CDN, hosting and web server** — plus, from public DNS records, the company's **email provider** (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365…), **DNS host**, **email-sending services** (SendGrid, HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo…) and **SaaS tools with verified domains** (Atlassian, Zoom, Stripe, OpenAI, DocuSign…).

Fast HTTP-only analysis (no browser), **$1.50 per 1,000 websites**, no start fee, unreachable sites free.

### Who is it for?

- **Sales & lead gen** — build lists of Shopify stores, HubSpot users, sites running Intercom, companies on Microsoft 365, etc., and personalize outreach
- **Agencies & freelancers** — qualify prospects (old WordPress, no analytics, no consent banner…)
- **Competitive & market research** — technology adoption across a list of domains
- **Security & IT** — inventory servers, CDNs, DMARC policy and third-party scripts

### FAQ

**How accurate is it?** Detection uses response headers, cookies, meta tags, script URLs and HTML patterns on the page you give (usually the homepage). Tools loaded only after user interaction or only on inner pages may not be visible — pass a specific URL if needed.

**Is it a Wappalyzer clone?** No — it uses its own fingerprint set focused on the technologies sales and marketing teams care about, plus DNS-based detection Wappalyzer doesn't do.

**Does it use a browser?** No, which keeps it fast and cheap. Pure client-side-rendered sites are still detected through their scripts and headers.

**Can I run it on 100,000 domains?** Yes. Increase concurrency and set a "Max cost per run" if you want a hard cap.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

One per line: <code>stripe.com</code>, <code>https://www.example.com</code>. The homepage (or the exact URL you give) is analyzed.

## `includeDns` (type: `boolean`):

Look up MX, NS, SPF, DMARC and domain-verification TXT records to detect the email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365…), DNS host, email-sending services (SendGrid, HubSpot, Salesforce…) and verified SaaS accounts (Atlassian, Zoom, OpenAI, Stripe…). Included in the price.

## `includeEvidence` (type: `boolean`):

Add the header / script / HTML snippet that triggered each detection.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Websites analyzed in parallel.
