## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Home Depot Scraper – Price, Store Stock & Specs

Get clean JSON for any **Home Depot** product: **current price, was-price, discount & promotion end date, in-store stock and quantity for any store, pickup and delivery dates, rating, review count, UPC, model, store SKU, specifications, highlights, description, images and category path**.

Input product URLs, item IDs, **search keywords** or **category URLs**. Works through Home Depot's bot protection with a real browser + US residential proxy (included in the price).

**$4.50 per 1,000 products + $0.05 per run.** Failed items are free. No subscription, no proxy bill.

### Who uses it

- **Price monitoring / repricing** – track Home Depot prices and promotions daily for your SKUs.
- **Store-level inventory checks** – see if an item is in stock and how many units a specific store has (`storeId`).
- **Market & assortment research** – pull top sellers for a keyword or category with full specs.
- **AI agents** – call it through the Apify MCP server to answer "How much is X at Home Depot near ZIP Y and is it in stock?"

### Input

| Field | What to put | Example |
|---|---|---|
| `productUrls` | Product page URLs | `https://www.homedepot.com/p/342705642` |
| `itemIds` | 9-digit item IDs (Internet #) | `343493170` |
| `searchQueries` | Keywords as typed in the search box | `cordless drill` |
| `categoryUrls` | `/b/...` or `/s/...` listing URLs (filters kept) | `https://www.homedepot.com/b/Tools-Power-Tools-Drills/N-5yc1vZc27f` |
| `maxResultsPerSearch` | Max products per keyword/category (default 24) | `100` |
| `storeId` | Store number for store price & stock (empty = auto) | `121` |
| `zipCode` | ZIP for delivery dates (empty = auto) | `30339` |
| `includeDetails` | Specs, highlights, description (default true) | `true` |

Example – price & stock for two products at store 121:

```json
{ "itemIds": ["342705642", "343493170"], "storeId": "121", "zipCode": "30339" }
```

Example – top 50 French door refrigerators:

```json
{ "searchQueries": ["french door refrigerator"], "maxResultsPerSearch": 50 }
```

### Output (one item per product)

```json
{
  "itemId": "343493170",
  "name": "M18 FUEL SURGE 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/4 in. Hex Impact Driver w/ (2) 6.0Ah Battery & Charger",
  "brand": "Milwaukee", "model": "2761-20-48-59-1862S", "storeSku": "1016118424", "upc": "882346349971",
  "price": 299, "wasPrice": 548, "discountPercent": 45,
  "promotion": { "type": "DISCOUNT", "dollarOff": 249, "percentOff": 45, "endsAt": "01/31/2027" },
  "rating": 4.77, "reviewCount": 1462,
  "inStockOnline": true,
  "store": { "storeId": "1326", "inStock": true, "quantity": 2290, "pickupType": "boss" },
  "fulfillment": [ { "method": "delivery", "service": "sth", "available": true, "startDate": "2026-11-04" } ],
  "categoryPath": ["Tools", "Power Tools", "Drills", "Impact Drivers"],
  "specifications": { "Battery Voltage (V)": "18V", "...": "..." },
  "images": ["https://images.thdstatic.com/...1000.jpg"],
  "url": "https://www.homedepot.com/p/.../343493170"
}
```

Failed items look like `{ "error": true, "itemId": "...", "message": "..." }` and are **not charged**.

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **$0.0045 per product result** ($4.50 / 1,000)
- **$0.05 per run** ("run setup", charged once when the bot-protection warm-up succeeds; not charged if the run never gets a session)
- Apify start fee $0.00005 per GB of memory

Example: 1,000 products in one run ≈ $4.55. Batch many items per run to keep cost per product low. Proxy and browser cost are included.

### Notes for AI agents (MCP)

- Fastest call: pass `itemIds` (or `productUrls`). Each product costs $0.0045, plus $0.05 once per run, so batch items into one call.
- For "find products" questions use `searchQueries` with a small `maxResultsPerSearch` (e.g. 10).
- For local stock use `storeId` (store number) and `zipCode`; `store.inStock` and `store.quantity` are for that store.
- Prices are in USD. `wasPrice` is null when the item is not on sale.

### Limits

- US Home Depot (homedepot.com) only. Typical speed: ~30 products per minute after a ~30–90 s browser warm-up.
- Customer review texts are not included (rating and review count are).
- Scrapes only publicly visible product data. You are responsible for using the data lawfully.

# Actor input Schema

## `productUrls` (type: `array`):

Home Depot product page URLs, e.g. https://www.homedepot.com/p/.../342705642 (the 9-digit number at the end is the item ID). Fastest and most reliable input. One dataset item per product.

## `itemIds` (type: `array`):

Home Depot 9-digit item IDs (Internet #), e.g. 342705642. Same output as product URLs.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Keywords as typed in the homedepot.com search box, e.g. "cordless drill" or "french door refrigerator". Each keyword returns up to 'Max results per search' full product records (sorted by Top Sellers).

## `categoryUrls` (type: `array`):

Home Depot listing URLs (https://www.homedepot.com/b/... or /s/...), including filtered ones. Products are collected in page order up to 'Max results per search'.

## `maxResultsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Maximum products collected for each keyword or category URL (24 per page). You pay per product returned.

## `storeId` (type: `string`):

Home Depot store number (e.g. 121 = Atlanta Cumberland, 6542 = Austin). Price, pickup availability and in-store quantity are returned for this store. Leave empty to use the store the site picks for the proxy location.

## `zipCode` (type: `string`):

US ZIP code used for ship-to-home / delivery dates. Leave empty to use the site's automatic ZIP.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the full specification table, bullet highlights and description to each product. Same price either way.

## `maxRetries` (type: `integer`):

Each attempt opens a fresh browser session on a new US residential IP; attempts that Home Depot does not trust are dropped within ~100 s.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Residential US proxy is required (Home Depot blocks datacenter IPs). Proxy cost is included in the price.
