## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## NFL Stats Scraper & NFL Injury Report (nflverse, Weekly Player Data)

This NFL stats scraper and NFL injury report API returns both in one call: weekly injury reports and player stats (with standard and PPR fantasy points), filtered by season, week, team, position or player name. Pay per row returned.

### What you get

- **player_stats**: per player per week: passing, rushing and receiving yards/TDs, receptions, targets, target share, kicking, `fantasy_points`, `fantasy_points_ppr`.
- **injuries**: per player per week: `report_status` (Out, Doubtful, Questionable), injury, and practice status/injury.
- **injuryChanges** (NFL injury report changes): players whose game status or practice participation changed versus the previous week's report: `player`, `team`, `position`, `prior_status`, `new_status`, `prior_practice`, `practice`, `change_type` (`status_changed`, `practice_changed`, `newly_listed`, `cleared`), `primary_injury`. nflverse publishes one report row per player per week, so `report_date` is always null and the comparison is week over week.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `dataset` | `player_stats` (default), `injuries` or `injuryChanges` |
| `season` | Year; empty = current season, falling back to the previous one if the new season has no data yet |
| `week` | 1-22; empty = latest week with data |
| `team` | e.g. `["KC","BUF"]` |
| `position` | e.g. `["QB","WR"]` |
| `playerName` | Case-insensitive substring |
| `reportStatus` | Injuries only, e.g. `["Out","Doubtful"]` |
| `maxItems` | Row cap (default 500); you are never charged for more |

Example: `{"dataset":"injuryChanges","week":8}` returns the NFL injury report changes for week 8.

Example: `{"dataset":"injuries","week":7,"reportStatus":["Out","Doubtful"]}`

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small Actor start fee plus **$0.002 per row returned** (`player-row`). Warnings and empty results are not charged.

### Data source and license

Data comes from the open [nflverse-data](https://github.com/nflverse/nflverse-data) GitHub releases (`stats_player` and `injuries`). nflverse-data is licensed under **Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)** ([LICENSE](https://github.com/nflverse/nflverse-data/blob/main/LICENSE.md)). This Actor filters and reshapes the rows (selects columns, converts numbers); it makes no other changes. Attribution: data © the nflverse contributors, CC BY 4.0. Not affiliated with or endorsed by nflverse or the NFL. If you redistribute the data, keep the attribution.

Freshness depends on nflverse release updates (typically within a day of games and injury report publication).
