## Pricing

from $0.50 / 1,000 search terms

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Scraper - Fast, No Browser

Get **Google Trends** data for any keyword, country, time range, category and search type (Web, YouTube, News, Images, Shopping):

- **Interest over time** (weekly/daily/hourly points, 0-100)
- **Interest by region** (states / countries, 0-100)
- **Related queries** - top and rising (e.g. `+300%`, `Breakout`)

It talks to Google Trends' own JSON endpoints instead of loading pages in a browser, so a term takes ~1-2 seconds, runs don't time out, and you pay a fraction of the compute. Failed requests are retried with fresh proxy sessions.

### Why this one?

| | Browser-based scrapers | This Actor |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 30-180 s per page | ~1-2 s per term |
| Timeouts / aborted runs | common | none in our tests (20/20 terms, 0 retries) |
| Price | $3+ per 1,000 results | **$2 per 1,000 terms**, all data included |

Input field names (`searchTerms`, `isMultiple`, `timeRange`, `customTimeRange`, `geo`, `category`, `maxItems`) match the popular Google Trends scraper, so you can switch without changing your integration.

### Use cases

- **SEO & content**: find rising queries before competitors, plan seasonal content.
- **E-commerce & product research**: validate demand, compare regions.
- **Market & investment research**: track brand, ticker or product interest.
- **AI agents & dashboards**: feed fresh trend data into your pipelines.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | Keywords, one result per term |
| `isMultiple` | Treat `a, b, c` in one line as three terms |
| `timeRange` | `now 1-H`, `now 4-H`, `now 1-d`, `now 7-d`, `today 1-m`, `today 3-m`, `today 12-m` (default), `today 5-y`, `all` |
| `customTimeRange` | `2025-01-01 2025-06-30` (overrides `timeRange`) |
| `geo` | `US`, `GB`, `KR`, `US-CA`... empty = Worldwide |
| `category` | Trends category ID, `0` = all |
| `searchProperty` | `""` web, `youtube`, `news`, `images`, `froogle` (Shopping) |

```json
{"searchTerms": ["bitcoin", "ozempic"], "geo": "US", "timeRange": "today 12-m"}
```

### Output (one item per term)

```json
{
  "searchTerm": "bitcoin",
  "geo": "US",
  "timeRange": "today 12-m",
  "interestOverTime": [{"date": "2026-10-11T00:00:00+00:00", "formattedTime": "Oct 11 – 17, 2026", "value": 56, "isPartial": true}],
  "interestByRegion": [{"geoCode": "US-CA", "geoName": "California", "value": 100}],
  "relatedQueries": {
    "top": [{"query": "bitcoin price", "value": 100, "formattedValue": "100", "link": "https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=bitcoin+price&date=today+12-m"}],
    "rising": [{"query": "...", "value": 300, "formattedValue": "+300%", "link": "..."}]
  },
  "relatedTopics": {"top": [], "rising": []}
}
```

`relatedTopics` is filled when Google returns it (currently often empty from Google's side).

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.002 per search term** with all the data above. No monthly fee.

### Notes

Google Trends values are relative (0-100) within each request, exactly as shown on trends.google.com.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

## `timeRange` (type: `string`):

Predefined time range.

## `customTimeRange` (type: `string`):

Overrides time range. Format 'YYYY-MM-DD YYYY-MM-DD', e.g. '2025-01-01 2025-06-30'.
