## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

- **$0.004 per carrier** returned
- **$0.005 per run start**

Examples: 100 carriers = $0.405; 1,000 carriers = $4.00. Apify free plan credits cover small runs.

### FAQ

**How fresh is the data?**
FMCSA publishes new registrations daily; use daysBack (default 7) or a date range.

**Does it include email addresses?**
Yes, when the carrier listed one on its MCS-150 filing. Use onlyWithEmail to keep only those.

**Can I filter by state?**
Yes - pass two-letter state codes in states.

**Is this legal?**
It collects publicly available data only. You are responsible for using it in line with applicable laws (e.g. CAN-SPAM, GDPR, TCPA) and the source's terms.

**Can I schedule it?**
Yes - use Apify Schedules to run it daily and get new records automatically, then send them to Google Sheets, Slack or your CRM via integrations.

**Need a custom field, source or done-for-you list?**
Open an issue on the Issues tab - feature requests are welcome.

### Technical details

Get **newly registered US trucking companies** every day from official FMCSA data on data.transportation.gov. Ideal for freight brokers, truck insurance agents, factoring companies, ELD/dispatch/compliance services, fuel cards and truck dealers who want to reach carriers in their first weeks of business.

### Data sources (official, public)

- **FMCSA Company Census** (`az4n-8mr2`): every USDOT registration with its add date, contact details, address, fleet and cargo.
- **Motus Carrier - All With History** (`inys-ebih`) and **Motus AuthHist** (`yu5v-wbh6`): operating authority (MC/FF/MX dockets), status, insurance on file and authority events from FMCSA's new registration system, joined on USDOT number.

FMCSA refreshes these datasets daily.
