## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Japan Law Amendment Watch – e-Gov 法令API

**法改正を、施行日の前に・どの条文が変わるかまで。** Know which Japanese laws change, when, and which articles – before the amendment takes effect.

List the laws your business depends on – 個人情報保護法, 会社法, 労働基準法, 電気通信事業法, any cabinet order or ministerial ordinance – and schedule this Actor weekly. For each law you get:

- **Upcoming amendments** that are promulgated but not yet in force, with **enforcement date and countdown** (`あと7日`) and the amending law's name
- **Which articles change** compared with the text in force today – `第2条 changed`, `第3条の2 added`, `第10条 deleted` – with the wording around the first difference (before / after)
- **New since last run**: amendments that appeared in the database since the previous run are flagged, so a weekly schedule only pings you when something new was promulgated

Example (real data, 2026-10-27):

```json
{
  "law": "個人情報の保護に関する法律",
  "abbrev": "個人情報保護法",
  "status": "amendment-scheduled",
  "summary": "2026-11-02（あと7日） … – 2か条が変更 | 2027-01-17（あと83日） … | …",
  "upcomingAmendments": [{
    "enforcementDate": "2026-11-02", "daysUntil": 7, "amendmentLaw": "…",
    "changedArticlesCount": 2,
    "changedArticles": [{ "article": "第2条", "change": "changed",
      "before": "…内閣に置かれる機関（内閣府を除く。）…", "after": "…内閣に置かれる機関（内閣府及び防災庁を除く。）…" }]
  }],
  "newSinceLastRun": [],
  "url": "https://laws.e-gov.go.jp/law/415AC0000000057",
  "source": "出典：e-Gov法令検索（https://laws.e-gov.go.jp/law/415AC0000000057）を加工して作成"
}
```

Amendments that only touch supplementary provisions or tables are reported as `本則の条文は変更なし`.

### Who it is for

Compliance and legal teams, 社労士・行政書士・税理士 offices, SaaS companies tracking regulations (個人情報, 電気通信, 特商法), and anyone who has missed an enforcement date before.

### Data source and terms

Uses only the **official e-Gov 法令API (v2)** operated by the Digital Agency – no scraping. One request at a time, at least 1 second apart. The site's content is provided under the Public Data License 1.0 (PDL1.0), which allows reuse including commercial use with attribution; statutes themselves are not subject to copyright in Japan (著作権法第13条). Each row carries a ready-made attribution in `source` – keep it when you republish the data. Comparisons and excerpts are produced by this Actor, not by the government. **This is not legal advice**; always check the official text before acting.

### Input

```json
{ "laws": ["個人情報保護法", "会社法", "労働基準法"], "diffUpcoming": 2 }
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, platform usage included:

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Actor start | $0.01 per run |
| `law-checked` – one law checked | $5.00 per 1,000 laws ($0.005 each) |

Example: 10 laws checked weekly ≈ 4 × ($0.01 + 10 × $0.005) = **$0.24 per month**. Laws not found are free.

# Actor input Schema

## `laws` (type: `array`):

One per line: the law's name (会社法), its abbreviation (個人情報保護法), its number (平成十七年法律第八十六号) or its e-Gov law ID (417AC0000000086). Cabinet orders and ministerial ordinances work too.

## `diffUpcoming` (type: `integer`):

For the next N amendments not yet in force, list which articles change compared with today's text (needs two extra API calls each). 0 = dates only.

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store in your account, so amendments published since the last run are flagged as new.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "laws": [
    "個人情報保護法"
  ],
  "diffUpcoming": 2,
  "stateStoreName": "law-amendment-watch-state"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per law: status, upcoming amendments with enforcement date and countdown, changed articles, amendments new since last run.
