## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs API – Direct from Company Career Sites, by Country

### Remote jobs you can actually take from where you live

Most remote job lists mix truly global roles with "remote, US only" ones and leave you to read the fine print. This Actor collects remote jobs **straight from the career sites of 390 companies** (on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workable), plus the **Remote OK** and **Jobicy** job boards. It then works out **where each job can be done from**: worldwide, a region such as EMEA or LATAM, or named countries.

Tell it the country you work from, and it returns only the jobs open to you. On 18 October 2026 the sources held about **8,500 remote jobs on company career sites**, plus about 800 on Jobicy and 100 on Remote OK.

**Built for:**

- **Remote job boards and newsletters**: fresh, de-duplicated remote roles from employers, filterable by region.
- **Job seekers and career tools**: "Python jobs I can do from Brazil" in one call.
- **Recruiters and talent platforms** sourcing remote roles for candidates in specific countries.
- **Researchers** tracking how open remote hiring is by region, role, and company.

### What makes it different

| | |
| ------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Direct from employers** | Most results come from the company's own career site, not a repost. Every job links to the original posting and apply page. |
| **"Can I work from here?"** | Each job gets `remoteScope` (worldwide, regions, countries, or unspecified) plus `eligibleRegions` and `eligibleCountries`. "San Francisco, CA" is read as the US, "Remote - EMEA" as EMEA, and "AMER" as the Americas. |
| **Honest about vague postings** | Jobs that only say "Remote" are often limited to the company's home country, so they're left out unless you include them. |
| **De-duplicated** | The same job from two sources is saved once, and the employer's own posting wins. |
| **Alerts built in** | With change tracking on, each run labels jobs new, updated, or unchanged; "Changes only" saves just the new and updated ones. |
| **Permitted sources only** | Company boards through their public job APIs, plus job boards whose terms allow reuse with attribution. Boards whose terms restrict redistribution aren't used. |

### Quick start

- **Worldwide jobs only** keeps jobs open to anyone, anywhere.
- For alerts, save the input as a task, schedule it daily, and set **Output** to **Changes only**.

### Publishing these jobs? Credit the source

Remote OK and Jobicy allow reuse of their jobs on condition that you **link to the job's original page and name them as the source**. `sourceName` and `jobUrl` tell you which jobs come from them. Remote OK also asks that links are followed (no `nofollow`) and that its logo isn't used without permission. Company career-site jobs link to the employer's own posting.

### Limits and good to know

- **Company career sites** come from a built-in index of 665 boards from 651 companies (390 of them with remote jobs), mostly technology, AI, fintech, and large employers. Boards are read live, most remote jobs first; `maxBoards` limits how many.
- **Eligibility is read from the location text.** When an employer's wording is unusual, a job can be classed as unspecified or miss a region. `location` always holds the original text.
- **Salaries** appear only when the employer or job board publishes them.
- **Remote OK** returns its latest 100 or so jobs per run, and many have no location, so they count as unspecified.
- Contact details inside descriptions are redacted by default. Use the data in line with each source's terms and applicable law.

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay per **saved job**, plus Apify's small Actor start event. Jobs that don't match your filters, and duplicates, are free. If the Pricing tab lists a **Job change** event, jobs saved in "Changes only" mode are billed at that price. See the **Pricing** tab for current amounts.

### FAQ

**Why are there so few results for my country?**
Many remote jobs are limited to the US, Canada, or the UK. Try **Worldwide jobs only**, add a neighbouring country, or include jobs that just say "Remote" and check their descriptions.

**Which companies are included?**
390 companies with remote jobs on public career boards, including many AI, developer-tools, fintech, and SaaS companies. Use **Only these companies** to search specific ones.

**How fresh are the jobs?**
Company sites and job boards are read live at run time.

# Actor input Schema

## `jobTitles` (type: `array`):

Phrases to find in job titles, such as "software engineer" or "product designer". A job matches if its title contains any of them. Leave empty for all titles.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Optional terms to find in the title, description, category, or tags, such as Python or fintech.

## `eligibleFrom` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs open to people in these countries: worldwide jobs, jobs for a region that includes the country (for example EMEA or LATAM), and jobs naming the country. Names or ISO codes, such as DE, Brazil, "United Arab Emirates". Leave empty for all.

## `worldwideOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs open to candidates anywhere in the world.

## `includeUnspecifiedLocation` (type: `boolean`):

Some employers write only "Remote" without saying where. These are often limited to the company's home country, so they're left out unless you turn this on.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep jobs posted within this many days. 0 disables the filter.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Where to search. Leave empty for all three.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Optional: read only these companies' career sites, such as GitLab or Automattic.

## `excludeCompanies` (type: `array`):

Optional: companies to leave out of the company career sites.

## `maxBoards` (type: `integer`):

Company career sites are read in order of how many remote jobs they have. More sites find more jobs and take longer.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap on jobs saved from any one company, to spread results across more employers. 0 means no cap.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum jobs saved per run. Each saved job is one billable result.

## `includeDescriptions` (type: `boolean`):

Include plain-text descriptions.

## `redactContactDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Remove email addresses, phone numbers, and personal LinkedIn links from descriptions.

## `trackChanges` (type: `boolean`):

Label jobs new, updated, or unchanged compared with the previous run of the same search. History is kept in your account's named key-value store remote-jobs-api-state.

## `outputMode` (type: `string`):

"All matching jobs" saves every match. "Changes only" saves new and updated jobs, for alerts.

## `monitorId` (type: `string`):

Optional name for this search's history. When empty, it is derived from the search settings.
